There is nothing comp icated about operating and maintaining your Thermo
King unit, but a few minutes studying this manua wi be time we spent.
Performing pre-trip checks and enroute inspections on a regu ar basis wi
minimize operating prob ems. A regu ar maintenance program wi a so he p
to keep your unit in top operating condition. If factory recommended
procedures are fo owed, you wi find that you have purchased the most
efficient and dependab e temperature contro system avai ab e.
A service requirements, major and minor, shou d be hand ed by a Thermo
King dea er for four very important reasons:

The product inc udes software that is icensed under a non-exc usive, non-
sub icensab e, terminab e and imited icense to use the software as insta ed

on the product for its intended purpose. Any remova , reproduction, reverse
engineering, or other unauthorized use of the software is strict y prohibited.
Hacking the product or insta ing unapproved software may void the
warranty. The owner or operator sha not reverse engineer, decompi e, or

express y permitted by app icab e aw notwithstanding this imitation. The

safety and the proper operation of this unit depend upon the strict
observance of these precautions.

coo ing system, drain it. Then f ush it with water and drain the water.
Antifreeze contains water and ethy ene g yco . The ethy ene g yco is
f ammab e and can ignite if the antifreeze is heated enough to boi off the
water.

Temperatures above 120 degrees F (50 degrees C) can cause serious burns.
Use an infrared thermometer or other temperature measuring device
before touching any potentia y hot surfaces.

condenser coi s is best eft to a certified Thermo King technician.

Automatic Start/Stop Operation

The unit can start and run automatica y any time the unit is turned on. Turn
the Microprocessor On/Off switch Off before doing inspections or working
on any part of the unit. P ease note that on y Qua ified and Certified
personne shou d attempt to service your Thermo King unit.
Battery Installation and Cable Routin

An improper y insta ed battery cou d resu t in a fire, exp osion, or injury. A
Thermo King approved battery must be insta ed and proper y secured to
the battery tray.

Improper y insta ed battery cab es cou d resu t in a fire, exp osion, or
injury. Battery cab es must be insta ed, routed, and secured proper y to
prevent them from rubbing, chaffing, or making contact with hot, sharp, or

A battery can be dangerous. A battery contains a f ammab e gas that can

discharges quick y. A battery contains battery acid that can burn you.

when working with a battery. If you get battery acid on you, immediate y
f ush it with water and get medica attention.

meta components during battery insta ation. Battery termina s grounding

A though f uorocarbon refrigerants are c assified as safe, use caution when
working with refrigerants or in areas where they are being used.

Refrigerant in the presence of an open f ame, spark, or e ectrica short
produces toxic gases that are severe respiratory irritants which can cause
serious injury or possib e death.

Do not inha e refrigerant. Use caution when working with refrigerant or a
refrigeration system in any confined area with a imited air supp y.

Observe the fo owing precautions when working with or around refrigerant

Protect your eyes from contact with refrigerant oi . The oi can cause serious
eye injuries. Protect skin and c othing from pro onged or repeated contact
with refrigerant oi . To prevent irritation, wash your hands and c othing
thorough y after hand ing the oi . Rubber g oves are recommended.
First Aid
RREEFFRRIIGGEERRAANNTT
•EEyyeess:: For contact with iquid, immediate y f ush eyes with arge amounts
of water and get prompt medica attention.
•SSkkiinn:: F ush area with arge amounts of warm water. Do not app y heat.
Remove contaminated c othing and shoes. Wrap burns with dry, steri e,
bu ky dressing to protect from infection. Get prompt medica attention.
Wash contaminated c othing before reuse.
•IInnhhaa aattiioonn:: Move victim to fresh air and use Cardio Pu monary
Resuscitation (CPR) or mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to restore
breathing, if necessary. Stay with victim unti emergency personne
arrive.
•FFrroosstt BBiittee:: In the event of frost bite , the objectives of First Aid are to
protect the frozen area from further injury, warm the affected area
rapid y, and to maintain respiration.

•EEyyeess:: Immediate y f ush with arge amounts of water for at east 15
minutes. Get prompt medica attention.
•SSkkiinn:: Remove contaminated c othing. Wash thorough y with soap and
water. Get medica attention if irritation persists.

EELLEECCTTRRIICCAALL SSHHOOCCKK
Take IMMEDIATE action after a person has received an e ectrica shock. Get
quick medica assistance, if possib e.
The source of the shock must be quick y stopped, by either shutting off the
power or removing the victim. If the power cannot be shut off, the wire
shou d be cut with an non-conductive too , such as a wood-hand e axe or
thick y insu ated cab e cutters. Rescuers shou d wear insu ated g oves and
safety g asses, and avoid ooking at wires being cut. The ensuing f ash can
cause burns and b indness.
If the victim must be removed from a ive circuit, pu the victim away with a
non-conductive materia . Use wood, rope, a be t or coat to pu or push the
victim away from the current. DO NOT TOUCH the victim. You wi receive a
shock from current f owing through the victim’s body. After separating the
victim from power source, immediate y check for signs of a pu se and
respiration. If no pu se is present, start Cardio Pu monary Resuscitation
(CPR). If a pu se is present, respiration might be restored by using mouth-to-
mouth resuscitation. Ca for emergency medica assistance.

mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to restore breathing, if necessary. Stay with
