Versa Star Pro Meter and USB Printer Interfacing
General Information
This instruction sheet provides general guidance on interfacing the Thermo Scientific™
Orion™ Versa Star Pro™ meter with a USBprinter. Orion Versa Star Pro meters offer
expanded USB printer compatibility with new PCL 6 driver hardware for better compatibility
with recent, commercially available USB printers. Although we strive to ensure the
compatibility of our meters with USB printers, we cannot ensure compatibility with all models.

Note: The printer cable must be purchased separately and the printerconnection type may vary by printer model.
Meter Setup
1. Power on theOrion Versa Star Pro meter.
2. In the measurement mode, press the setup key to access the Main Setupmenu.
3. Press the , , or key to highlight the Instrument Settings iconand press the f3 (Select) key.
4. Press the or key to highlight Communication and press the or key to highlight USB PRINTER.
5. Press the f2 (Page 2) key, press the or key to highlight Printing and press the or key to highlight On.
6. Press the or key to highlight Print Format and press the or key to highlight Printer.
7. Press the measure (esc) key to return tothe measurement mode.
8. The USB symbol should nowbe displayed onthe top of the screen:
Printer Setup
1. Unpack the printer and prepare according to the instructions in the printermanual. Add letter size paper to the paper tray.
2. Power on the printer and confirm the printer status is ready.

Meter to Printer Interfacing
1. Connect the USB cable to theMICRO AB USB connectionon the meter and the appropriate USB connection on the printer.
2. Press the log/print key on themeter keypad to send the displayed measurement information to the printer. The Printer
symbol should be displayed on the top of the screen.
3. The printer should print the measurement information, similar to the following example:
