TEMPERATURE RANGE
1. Recommended for use within the temperature range of 14º F to 122º F (-10º C to 50º C).
2. Prolonged temperatures exceeding 122º F (50º C) may diminish the stability of the plastic cartridge and result in a reduction
of pressurization.
3. Prolonged operation below 14º F (-10º C) may cause a reduction in performance and battery life.
STORAGE CONDITIONS
1. Store M-Power units and lube cartridge kits in a dry location. Recommended storage: 68º F (20º C).
SHELF LIFE
1. Lube cartridge (filled): One year depending on lubricant
2. Drive (without batteries): Unlimited
3. Batteries: One year
ENCLOSURE RATING AND CERTIFICATION
1. NEMA 13 / IP 54. Protected against dust and splash water.
2. UL and CE Certified
DISPOSAL
1. Empty lubricant cartridge: dispose with standard grease waste.
2. Batteries: dispose at local waste disposal (battery collection) points.
3. Drive units: not applicable. M-Power units are reusable for several applications.
WARRANTY
1. Lubricant cartridge: 1 year (Also dependent on lubricant manufacturer’s warranty for life of lubricant.)
2. Drive: 1 year
Note 1: 1 cc = approx. 1 “shot” of grease from a typical grease gun
Note 2: The drive motor is controlled by a circuit-board timer. It cycles on a given schedule to expel a small amount of
lubricant. Cycle times are listed on the previous page.
M-Power 300 Installation Instructions – Lube Cartridge Kit
THE LUBE CARTRIDGE KIT
1. Timken supplies a replacement lubricant cartridge to service empty M-Power lubricators. The lubricant cartridge comes
with a battery pack. This package is referred to as the “Lube Cartridge Kit.”
SERVICING AN EMPTY MOTORIZED LUBRICATOR
1. M-Power comes with a reusable drive motor.
2. M-Power has LED performance lights that indicate – among other things – when the lubricant cartridge is empty.
3. A green-red flashing signal indicates an empty lubricant cartridge.
4. The lubricant cartridge is a one-time-use reservoir. Empty lubricant cartridges should be discarded (with standard grease
waste) and replaced with new, factory-filled lubricant cartridges.
Note: Lubricant cartridges cannot be refilled. Attempts to refill these units in the field will void the manufacturer’s warranty.

NOTES:
1. If desired, discharge duration (“Time”) and/or reservoir size (“Volume”) dip switches can be reset
during lubricant cartridge change-out. Dip-switch settings and further details can be found on the
M-Power Installation Instructions, Complete Unit, page 3.
2. Make sure that the dip-switch setting for volume/cartridge size coincides with the cartridge you
are installing on the M-Power drive unit. Dip-switch settings are listed on the label, as well as in
the M-Power Installation Instructions, Complete Unit, page 3.
3. No tools are necessary to change the lube cartridge. When reassembling the unit, tighten it only
hand tight.
4. The M-Power has a “self-test” feature. This assures the change-out was successful.
a. Turn the unit on using a flat-head screwdriver or similar tool to start the lubricator “self-test” cycle.
b. The motor will run for approximately 30 seconds.
c. Lubricant will likely dispense from the outlet.
d. When the cycle is complete and the motor stops running, the unit is ready for reinstallation.
e. Reinstall on the lube point, leaving the ON-OFF switch in the ON position.

PREPARING THE LUBE POINT
1. Fill with the same or compatible lubricant as filled in the M-Power.
2. Confirm that the bearing is easily accepting grease from a grease gun.
Note: Lube points that resist accepting grease from a grease gun will cause the M-Power to function
improperly.
PREPARING THE TIMKEN M-POWER
1. Time and volume dip-switch settings can be adjusted using a ball point pen or similar instrument.
Note: See Product Specifications (page 1) for output per day, based on the variable settings for time
(1-3-6-12 months) and volume (2.03, 4.05 and 8.45 fl. oz. size cartridges).
2. After the dip switches are set and the unit is activated, please refrain from changing the settings.
The circuit board’s memory feature inhibits “tinkering” with the settings once a unit is put in place.
Adjustments can be made during lubricant cartridge kit change-out (i.e., when a cartridge is empty
and being replaced with a new cartridge).
Note: An incorrect volume setting (e.g. a 2.03 fl. oz. dip-switch setting coupled with an 8.45 fl. oz. size
reservoir) will cause the M-Power to function improperly.
INSTALLING THE UNIT
1. Make sure the end cap is screwed hand-tight and snug onto the lubrication cartridge.
2. The ON-OFF switch is located on the top of the end cap, and can be turned on using a flat-head
screwdriver or similar tool.

3. The “Self-Test” Cycle. When the unit is turned on, the motor will begin to run. The red indicator light will illuminate for
approximately 30 seconds. The “self-test” lasts for approximately 30 seconds. The unit is then ready for installation.
Note: See “LED Performance Indicator Lights” section below for an explanation of the LED lights. See the “Timken M-Power
Product Specifications” (page 1) for cycle times and lubricant discharge schedule.
4. The M-Power outlet is R 1⁄4". A reducing fitting may be needed.
5. A brass support adapter must be used on all new M-Power installations where the units are
directly mounted on the equipment.

Safety Warnings
In addition to observing warnings on the product and in the operating instructions, be sure to observe the
following precautions for the use, handling and storage of this device. Warning: Proper maintenance and
handling practices are critical. Failure to follow installation instructions and to maintain proper lubrication
can result in equipment failure, creating a risk of serious bodily harm.
•Retain the product’s safety and operating instructions for future reference. Follow all operating and usage
instructions. Consult the latest material safety data sheet (MSDS) for any lubricant before using, handling or
storing this device.
•Do not remove or open the M-Power device when in operation. All M-Power devices utilize pressure to deliver lubricant to
the application. Removing the device while the contents are under pressure can cause damage to the unit and may result in
severe bodily injury.
•Ensure that the unit has a free path to discharge its lubricant and is not subject to excessive heat.
•Do not use this product near heaters, radiators, furnaces or other pieces of equipment that may produce sparks, flames, or
high heat.
•Electromechanical units contain a manufacturer supplied battery pack. Do not attempt to recharge the battery pack, disas-
semble it, immerse it in water or dispose of it in fire. Do not attempt to replace the batteries with any other than replacement
battery packs available from Timken.
•Do not take apart any gas-pressurized unit. Do not take apart any electromechanical device except for replacement of the
battery pack or lubricant refill pack. Do not crush, puncture or incinerate the battery pack or short the metal contacts.
In addition, do not attempt to open or service the battery pack or lubricant refill packs as doing so may release harmful
chemicals.
•Only use Timken-certified attachments and accessories to connect the M-Power device to the equipment application.
Failure to do so may damage the device and the equipment and may result in bodily injury or damage to the equipment.
•Always check the suitability of any lubricant with the manufacturer of the equipment to be lubricated prior to use. A wide
variety of lubricant oils and greases are available for this secure-lube device depending on the equipment to be lubricated.
•Avoid direct contact of lubricant with skin. Do not swallow or ingest the lubricant. If ingested or swallowed, call a physician
or Poison Control center for most current instructions. If professional advice is not available, do not induce vomiting.
•“Empty” devices retain some lubricant in liquid and/or vapor form. Do not pressurize, mechanically modify or expose used
devices to heat, flame or static electricity. They may cause injury or death. Do not attempt to clean or refill the devices
because the lubricant is difficult to remove. “Empty” devices should be disposed of in an environmentally safe manner, in
accordance with governmental regulations.
