1. Introduction
To all residents of the European Union
Important environmental information about this product
This symbol on the device or the package indicates that disposal of the device after its lifecycle
could harm the environment. Do not dispose of the unit (or batteries) as unsorted municipal
waste; it should be taken to a specialized company for recycling. This device should be
returned to your distributor or to a local recycling service. Respect the local environmental
rules.
If in doubt, contact your local waste disposal authorities.

device into service. If the device was damaged in transit, do not install or use it and contact
your dealer.
2. Safety Instructions
Read and understand this manual and all safety signs before
using this appliance.
Indoor use only.
WARNING - Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable or
defective batteries. This charger is not suitable to charge Sealed
Lead-Acid (SLA) or Valve Regulated Lead-Acid (VLRA) batteries.
•This device can be used by children aged from 8 years and
above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the
device in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the device. Cleaning and user
maintenance shall not be made by children without
supervision.
•If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in
order to avoid hazard.
•The battery terminal not connected to the chassis has to be
connected first. The other connection is to be made to the
chassis, remote from the battery and fuel line. The battery
charger is then to be connected to the mains supply.
•After charging, disconnect the battery charger from the mains
supply. Then remove the chassis connection and then the
battery connection.

•Be very careful: touching live wires can cause life-threatening
electroshocks.
•Do not touch the device during operation as the housing heats
up.
•Keep this device away from rain, moisture, splashing and
dripping liquids. Never put objects filled with liquid on top of
the device.
•Disconnect mains power when the device is not in use. Handle
the power cord by the plug only. Keep power cables away from
heat, oil and sharp edges.
•Always wear safety goggles when handling batteries.
•Always wear adequate safety gloves (acid proof) when
handling non-sealed batteries.
•Explosion hazard: the charging process produces electrolytic
gasses, which might be ignited when in contact with sparks or
open fires. Do not wear synthetic cloths while charging to
reduce the risk of electrostatic discharges.
•Make sure that the available voltage does not exceed the
voltage stated in the specifications of this manual.
•Do not crimp the power cord or leads and protect them against
damage. Have an authorised dealer replace it if necessary.
•Do not use the device when damage to housing or cables is
noticed. Do not attempt to service the device yourself but
contact an authorised dealer. Do not try to open the housing of
the battery or battery charger.
•Note that damage caused by user modifications to the device is
not covered by the warranty.
•Do not expose the battery and charger to full sunlight or high
temperatures. Keep the ventilation slots free of dirt and
obstacles at all times.
•Acid may start to boil. This is not unusual, but in order to
prevent accidents switch off the charger and let the battery
cool down.
•Charging has to take place in a well-ventilated area.
•Always handle batteries with care.
•When smoke or stench from scorched insulation is noticed,
immediately unplug the charger from the mains.
•There are no user-serviceable parts in the charger. Contact
your dealer for spare parts if necessary.
•Never charge multiple batteries simultaneously.
•Do not short-circuit the charging clamps!
•Only replace the fuses by fuses with the same specifications.

3. General Guidelines
•Refer to the Velleman®Service and Quality Warranty on the last pages of this manual.
•All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons. Damage caused by user
modifications to the device is not covered by the warranty.
•Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the device in an unauthorised way will
void the warranty.
•Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by the
warranty and the dealer will not accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or problems.
•Nor Velleman nv nor its dealers can be held responsible for any damage (extraordinary,
incidental or indirect) –of any nature (financial, physical…) arising from the possession,
use or failure of this product.
•Keep this manual for future reference.
4. Preparation
Always check the condition of the cables and clamps before using the battery charger. Do not
use when damage is noticed!
1. Disconnect the battery from the vehicle before charging. To do this, first remove the
negative pole connection, and then proceed with the positive pole connection.
2. Clean the poles with a steel brush or sandpaper.
3. Open the filler caps and check the level of the battery acid. When necessary, add distilled
water (liquid level must be ± 1 cm below fill opening).
Note: battery acid is corrosive; avoid contact with skins or clothing. Any spills should be
washed off immediately with plenty of water. Consult a doctor when necessary.
4. Open all filler caps and leave them open during charging, unless the battery has special
safety features built-in (e.g. spark arrestor). Refer to the data sheet of the battery or
consult a specialist to find out.
5. Make sure the battery charger is not connected to the mains.
6. Connect the positive clamp of the battery charger (red) with the positive pole (+) of the
battery. Make sure the clamp is secured tight.
7. Connect the negative clamp of the battery charger (black) with the negative pole (-) of the
battery. Make sure the clamp is secured tight.
8. Select the desired output voltage. Make sure this setting matches with the specifications of
the connected battery!
9. Plug the battery charger into a suitable mains outlet.
5. Operation
1. When all preparations are done (see §5), switch on the charger.
2. Set the MIN/BOOST switch to MIN for slow charging (low current, 7 A), set to BOOST for
fast charging (high current, 9 A).
3. The current meter indicates the charging current. The more the battery is charged, the less
current it will draw. When the current reaches 0 (zero) the charging process must be
stopped to prevent the increasing battery voltage level from destroying the battery.
Note: another way to determine the charge level of the battery is by measuring the density
of the acid using a density meter (see table below).

4. When the battery is fully charged, immediately switch off the charger. Overcharging will
destroy the battery.

5. Disconnect the battery from the charger, starting with the clamp on the negative pole
(black) and then proceed with the clamp on the positive pole (red).
The charging of a battery is not a simple process. The charging current will vary due to battery
power, discharge level, temperature and output voltage of the charger.
The charger’s output voltage is higher than the battery’s nominal voltage (battery 12.8 V,
charger AC15 –not connected to a battery –15.8 V). With a traditional charger like the AC15
the battery’s output voltage will not be controlled by computer. The current leaving the charger
at the end of the charging process may overcharge the battery and reduce its life.
Conclusion:
The current meter does indicate the (over)charge voltage. Regularly check the charging
process. The battery is fully charged when the charging current has not changed for one hour.
Disconnect the battery from the charger to avoid overcharge.
The automation of the charging process will require an automatic charger (specifically for this
battery or series of batteries).
6. Fuses
The AC15 has 3 safety fuses installed.
1. Thermal fuse: this fuse cuts of the output power when the temperature of the charger is
too high. Power automatically restores when the temperature drops below an acceptable
level.
2. Input fuse: protects the charger from power anomalies on the mains input power. To
replace, disconnect the charger from the mains and disconnect the connected battery.
Unscrew the holder (counter clockwise) and replace the broken fuse by a fuse with the
same specifications (F2 A/250 V). Tightly screw the holder back in place.
3. Output fuse: protects the connected battery from over-current. To replace, disconnect the
charger from the mains and disconnect the connected battery. Simply unplug the fuse from
the socket and install a new one. Only use a fuse with the same specifications (15 A).
7. Care and Maintenance
•Always remove the plug from the mains socket and disconnect batteries when servicing or
cleaning the charger.
•Never use water or any other liquids to clean the charger.
•Keep the cables clean, but avoid using cleaners based on benzene, trichloroethylene,
chloride, ammonia… as they affect or even dissolve plastic parts.
•Check liquid level of batteries once per month and fill up when necessary.
•Dispose of batteries in accordance with local regulations.

HANDLEIDING
1. Inleiding
Aan alle ingezetenen van de Europese Unie
Belangrijke milieu-informatie betreffende dit product
Dit symbool op het toestel of de verpakking geeft aan dat, als het na zijn levenscyclus wordt
weggeworpen, dit toestel schade kan toebrengen aan het milieu. Gooi dit toestel (en eventuele
batterijen) niet bij het gewone huishoudelijke afval; het moet bij een gespecialiseerd bedrijf
terechtkomen voor recyclage. U moet dit toestel naar uw verdeler of naar een lokaal
recyclagepunt brengen. Respecteer de plaatselijke milieuwetgeving.
Hebt u vragen, contacteer dan de plaatselijke autoriteiten betreffende de
verwijdering.

2. Veiligheidsvoorschriften
Lees en begrijp deze handleiding en de veiligheidsinstructies vóór
ingebruikname.
Uitsluitend voor gebruik binnenshuis.
WAARSCHUWING - Laad nooit een niet-herlaadbare of defecte
accu. Deze lader is niet geschikt voor het laden van SLA- of
VRLA-accu’s.
•Dit toestel is geschikt voor gebruik door kinderen vanaf 8 jaar,
door personen met fysieke, zintuiglijke of verstandelijke
beperkingen, of door personen met gebrek aan ervaring en
kennis, op voorwaarde dat dit onder toezicht gebeurt van een
persoon die verantwoordelijk is voor hun veiligheid of hun
aanwijzingen heeft gegeven, hoe zij het toestel moeten
gebruiken en zich bewust zijn van de risico's die het gebruik
van het toestel met zich meebrengt. Kinderen mogen niet met
het toestel spelen. De reiniging en het onderhoud van het
toestel mogen niet worden uitgevoerd door kinderen, tenzij ze
onder toezicht staan.
•Indien de voedingskabel beschadigd is, dan moet deze door de
fabrikant, diens servicedienst, of een gelijkwaardig bekwaam
persoon vervangen worden om gevaar te voorkomen.
•De poolklem die niet op het chassis aangesloten is, moet eerst
aangesloten worden. Koppel de andere poolklem aan het
chassis, weg van de accu en brandstofleidingen. Koppel de
acculader daarna op het lichtnet.

•Ontkoppel na het opladen de acculader van het lichtnet.
Ontkoppel de poolklem van het chassis en daarna de andere
poolklem.
•Wees voorzichtig: raak geen kabels aan die onder stroom
staan, om dodelijke elektroshocks te vermijden.
•Raak het toestel niet aan wanneer het in gebruik is: de
behuizing wordt warm.
•Bescherm het toestel tegen regen, vochtigheid en opspattende
vloeistoffen. Plaats geen object gevuld met een vloeistof
bovenop de acculader.
•Trek de stekker uit het stopcontact wanneer het toestel niet in
gebruik is. Houd de voedingskabel altijd vast bij de stekker en
niet bij de kabel. Bescherm voedingskabels tegen hitte, olie en
scherpe voorwerpen.
•Draag een veiligheidsbril bij het hanteren van accu’s.
•Draag beschermende handschoenen (zuurbestendig) tijdens
het hanteren van open accu’s.
•Ontploffingsgevaar: het laadproces veroorzaakt licht
ontvlambare elektrolytische gassen die kunnen ontbranden
door vonken of een vlam. Draag geen synthetische kleding
tijdens het laadproces om elektrostatische ontlading te
vermijden.
•De beschikbare netspanning mag niet hoger zijn dan de
spanning vermeld in de specificaties achteraan de handleiding.
•De stroomkabels mogen niet omgeplooid of beschadigd zijn.
Laat uw dealer zo nodig een nieuwe kabel plaatsen.
•Gebruik het toestel niet indien de behuizing of de bekabeling
beschadigd is. Probeer in geen geval het toestel zelf te
repareren maar contacteer uw verdeler. Open nooit de
behuizing van de accu of van de acculader.
•Schade door wijzigingen die de gebruiker heeft aangebracht
aan het toestel valt niet onder de garantie.
•Stel het toestel nooit bloot aan zonlicht of hoge temperaturen.
Zorg ervoor dat de ventilatieopeningen altijd vrij zijn.
•Zuur kan bij het laden koken. Dit is niet ongewoon. Laat
niettemin de acculader afkoelen en ontkoppel van het lichtnet.
•Laad een accu in een goed geventileerde ruimte.
•Wees voorzichtig met batterijen.
•Bij rookontwikkeling of geur moet u de acculader onmiddellijk
van het lichtnet ontkoppelen.
•Er zijn geen onderdelen in het toestel die door de gebruiker
gerepareerd kunnen worden. Bestel eventuele
reserveonderdelen bij uw dealer.
•Laad nooit meerdere accu’s tegelijkertijd.

•U mag de laadklemmen nooit kortsluiten!
•Vervang een defecte zekering enkel door een zekering met
dezelfde specificaties.
3. Algemene richtlijnen
•Raadpleeg de Velleman®service- en kwaliteitsgarantie achteraan deze handleiding.
•Om veiligheidsredenen mag u geen wijzigingen aanbrengen. Schade door wijzigingen die
de gebruiker heeft aangebracht aan het toestel valt niet onder de garantie.
•Gebruik het toestel enkel waarvoor het gemaakt is. De garantie vervalt automatisch bij
ongeoorloofd gebruik.
•De garantie geldt niet voor schade door het negeren van bepaalde richtlijnen in deze
handleiding en uw dealer zal de verantwoordelijkheid afwijzen voor defecten of problemen
die hier rechtstreeks verband mee houden.
•Noch Velleman nv noch zijn verdelers kunnen aansprakelijk gesteld worden voor schade
(buitengewoon, incidenteel of onrechtstreeks) –van welke aard dan ook (financieel,
fysisch…) voortvloeiend uit het bezit, gebruik of falen van dit product.
•Bewaar deze handleiding voor verdere raadpleging.
4. Voorbereiding
Controleer altijd eerst de kabels en de klemmen alvorens de jumpstarter in gebruik te nemen.
Gebruik het toestel niet indien het beschadigd is!
1. Ontkoppel de accu van het voertuig: ontkoppel eerst de negatieve pool en pas daarna de
positieve pool.
2. Maak de polen schoon met een staalborstel of met schuurpapier.
3. Open de vulopeningen en controleer het niveau van het accuzuur. Vul bij met gedistilleerd
water indien nodig (alle elementen binnenin de accu moeten 1 cm onder de vloeistof
zitten).
Opmerking: Accuzuur is een bijtende vloeistof. Vermijd contact met huid of kleding. Bij
contact met de vloeistof, spoel onmiddellijk af onder koud stromend water. Raadpleeg een
arts indien nodig.
4. Verwijder de dop van de vulopeningen tijdens het laadproces, behalve als de accu beschikt
over een beveiliging tegen vonken. Raadpleeg de technische fiche van de gebruikte accu.
5. Sluit het toestel nog niet aan op het lichtnet].
6. Koppel de positieve pool van de acculader (rood) met de positieve pool (+) van de batterij.
Zorg ervoor dat de klem goed bevestigd is.
7. Verbind vervolgens de negatieve (zwarte) klem met de negatieve pool (-) van de accu.
Zorg ervoor dat de klem goed bevestigd is.
8. Selecteer de gewenste uitgangsspanning. Zorg ervoor dat deze spanning overeenkomt met
de spanning van de aangesloten accu!
9. Koppel de lader aan het lichtnet.
5. Gebruik
1. Nadat alle voorbereidingen zijn voltooid (zie §5), schakel de lader in.
2. Plaats de MIN/BOOST-schakelaar op MIN voor een traag laadproces (lage stroom, 7 A) of
op BOOST voor een versneld laadproces (hoge stroom, 9 A).
3. De stroommeter geeft de laadstroom weer. Hoe hoger het laadniveau van de accu, hoe
minder stroom deze afneemt. Stop het laadproces van zodra de naald op 0 (nul) staat om
beschadiging aan de accu te vermijden.

Opmerking: U kunt het laadniveau ook meten door de dichtheid van het accuzuur te meten
met een dichtheidsmeter (zie tabel hieronder).

4. Schakel de lader uit zodra de accu volledig opgeladen is]. Overbelasting kan de accu
onherroepelijk beschadigen.
5. Ontkoppel de accu van de acculader. Begin met de negatieve klem (zwart) en ontkoppel
pas daarna de positieve klem (rood).
Het laadproces is niet eenvoudig. De laadstroom hangt af van de capaciteit van de accu, de
ontlading, de temperatuur en de uitgangsspanning van de acculader.
De uitgangsspanning van de acculader is hoger dan de nominale accuspanning (accu 12.8 V,
lader AC15 –niet aan een accu gekoppeld - 15.8 V). Met de AC15 wordt de uitgangsspanning
van de accu niet elektronisch aangestuurd. De geleverde uitgangsstroom van de lader aan het
einde van het laadproces kan de accu overbelasten en de levensduur verkorten.
Conclusie:
De stroommeter geeft de (over)laadspanning weer. Controleer regelmatig het laadproces. De
accu is volledig opgeladen wanneer de laadstroom na één uur niet veranderd is. Ontkoppel de
accu van de lader om overbelasting te vermijden.
De automatisering van het laadproces vereist een automatische lader (specifiek voor deze accu
of reeks accu's).
6. Zekeringen
De AC15 heeft 3 veiligheidszekeringen.
1. Thermische zekering: Deze zekering schakelt de lader uit in geval van oververhitting. De
lader wordt automatisch ingeschakeld van zodra de temperatuur voldoende zakt.
2. Ingangszekering: Beschermt de lader tegen overbelasting. Om te vervangen, ontkoppel de
lader van het lichtnet en ontkoppel de aangesloten accu. Schroef de houder los en vervang
de defecte zekering door een nieuwe met dezelfde specificaties (F2 A/250 V). Schroef de
houder opnieuw in de lader.
3. Uitgangszekering: Beschermt de accu tegen overbelasting. Om te vervangen, ontkoppel de
lader van het lichtnet en ontkoppel de aangesloten accu. Verwijder de zekering uit de lader
en vervang door een nieuwe met dezelfde specificaties (15 A).
7. Reiniging en onderhoud
•Ontkoppel altijd eerst de acculader alvorens het toestel te reinigen.
•Reinig de acculader nooit met water of een andere vloeistof.
•Vermijd gebruik van reinigingsmiddelen op basis van benzeen, trichloorethyleen, chloride,
ammoniak… om de plastic onderdelen niet te beschadigen.
•Controleer elke maand het niveau in de accu en vul bij indien nodig
•Gooi batterijen weg volgens de plaatselijke milieuwetgeving.

2. Consignes de sécurité

AVERTISSEMENT - Ne pas recharger des batteries non
rechargeables ou défectueuses. Ce chargeur ne convient pas à la
recharge de batteries à l’acide de plomb scellées (SLA) ou à
régulation par soupape (VLRA).
•Cet appareil peut être utilisé par des enfants âgés de 8 ans et
plus et des personnes manquant d’expérience et de
connaissances ou dont les capacités physiques, sensorielles ou
mentales sont réduites, si elles ont été formées et encadrées
quant à l'utilisation de l'appareil d'une manière sûre et
connaissent les risques encourus. Ne pas laisser les enfants
jouer avec l'appareil. Le nettoyage et l'entretien ne doivent pas
être effectués par des enfants sans surveillance.
•Un cordon d'alimentation endommagé doit être remplacé par le
fabricant, un technicien ou une autre personne qualifiée pour
éviter tout danger.

châssis. Connecter l'autre cosse au châssis, loin de la batterie
et de tout conduit de carburant. Connecter le chargeur au
réseau électrique.
•Déconnecter le chargeur du réseau électrique après le
chargement de la batterie. Ensuite, déconnecter la cosse
connectée au châssis et enfin celle connectée à la batterie.

•Attention : toucher un câble sous tension peut causer des
électrochocs mortels.
•Ne pas toucher l’appareil lorsqu’il est en service : le boîtier
chauffe !
•Protéger l'appareil de la pluie, de l'humidité, d'éclaboussures et
des projections d’eau. Ne jamais placer d’objet contenant un
liquide sur l’appareil.
•Déconnecter l’appareil du réseau électrique lorsqu’il n’est pas
utilisé. Tirer sur la fiche pour débrancher l'appareil ; non pas
sur le câble. Protéger les câbles de la chaleur, de l’huile et des
objets coupants.
•Toujours porter des lunettes de protection en maniant une
batterie.
•Toujours porter des gants de protection (résistant à l’acide)
lors de la manipulation de batteries non scellées.
•Risque d’explosion: Le processus de charge produit des gaz
électrolytiques inflammables. Ne pas porter de vêtements
synthétiques afin d’éviter les décharges électrostatiques.
•S'assurer que la tension réseau ne dépasse pas la tension
indiquée dans les spécifications.
•Les câbles ne peuvent pas être replissés ou endommagés.
Demander à votre revendeur de le remplacer si nécessaire.
•Ne pas utiliser l'appareil si le boîtier ou le câblage sont
endommagés. Ne pas essayer de réparer l'appareil soi-même,
contacter votre revendeur. Ne pas ouvrir la batterie ou le
chargeur.
•Les dommages occasionnés par des modifications par le client
ne tombent pas sous la garantie.
•Ne pas exposer l'appareil au soleil ou aux températures
extrêmes. Ne jamais obstruer les fentes de ventilation.
•L’acide de la batterie peut bouillir, ce qui n’est pas anormal. Il
est toutefois conseillé d’éteindre le chargeur et de laisser
refroidir la batterie le cas échéant.
•Charger une batterie dans un endroit bien ventilé.
•Manipuler les piles avec précaution.
•Déconnecter le chargeur du réseau électrique en cas de fumée
ou d’odeur.
•Il n’y a aucune pièce réparable par l’utilisateur. Commander
des pièces de rechange éventuelles chez votre revendeur.
•Ne jamais recharger plusieurs batteries simultanément.
•Ne pas court-circuiter les pinces!
•Remplacer les fusibles par des fusibles identiques uniquement.

3. Directives générales

par des modifications par le client ne tombent pas sous la garantie.
•N’utiliser l'appareil qu’à sa fonction prévue. Un usage impropre annule d'office la garantie.
•La garantie ne se s’applique pas aux dommages survenus en négligeant certaines
directives de ce mode d'emploi et votre revendeur déclinera toute responsabilité pour les
problèmes et les défauts qui en résultent.
•Ni Velleman SA ni ses distributeurs ne peuvent être tenus responsables des dommages
exceptionnels, imprévus ou indirects, quelles que soient la nature (financière,
corporelle, etc.), causés par la possession, l’utilisation ou le dysfonctionnement de ce
produit.
•Garder ce mode d'emploi pour toute référence ultérieure.
4. Préparations
Vérifier l’état des câbles et du booster de démarrage avant chaque emploi. Ne jamais utiliser
un chargeur ou des câbles endommagés !
1. Déconnecter la batterie du véhicule avant la charge en commençant par la borne
négative et ensuite par la borne positive.
2. Nettoyer les cosses à l’aide d’une brosse métallique ou du papier de verre.
3. Retirer les bouchons de fermeture et vérifier le niveau de l’acide. Si nécessaire, rajouter de
l’eau distillée ou déminéralisée (le liquide doit recouvrir tous les éléments de 1 cm).
Note : L’acide est un liquide corrosif ; éviter donc tout contact avec la peau ou les
vêtements. En cas de contact avec l’acide, rincer immédiatement à l’eau claire et consulter
un médecin si nécessaire.
4. Retirer tous les bouchons de fermeture pendant la recharge, sauf si la batterie est équipée
d’un dispositif pare-étincelles. Se reporter à la fiche technique de la batterie ou consulter
un technicien.
5. Ne pas encore connecter l'appareil au secteur].
6. Connecter solidement la pince positive (rouge) du chargeur à la borne positive (+) de la
batterie. Veiller à bien fixer la pince.
7. Connecter la pince négative (noire) à la borne négative (-) de la batterie. Veiller à bien
fixer la pince.
8. Sélectionner la tension de sortie. S'assurer que la tension soit identique à celle de la
batterie connectée !
9. Connecter le chargeur au réseau électrique.
5. Emploi
1. Une fois les préparations complétées (voir §5), allumer le chargeur.
2. Placer l’interrupteur MIN/BOOST sur MIN pour une recharge lente (faible courant, 7 A) ou
sur BOOST pour une recharge rapide (courant haute densité, 9 A).
3. L’ampèremètre indique le courant de charge. Plus le niveau de charge de la batterie est
important, moins la batterie absorbera de courant. Une fois l’aiguille de l’ampèremètre sur
0 (zéro), il faut interrompre le processus de charge afin d’éviter les endommagements dus
au niveau de tension de batterie croissant.
Note : Il est possible de déterminer le niveau de charge en mesurant la densité de l’acide à
l’aide d’un densimètre (voir tableau ci-dessous).

4. Une fois la batterie complètement chargée, immédiatement déconnecter la batterie du
chargeur. Une surcharge peut détruire la batterie.
5. Déconnecter la batterie du chargeur en commençant avec la pince négative (noir) et
ensuite la pince positive (rouge).
Le processus de charge n'est pas simple. Le courant de charge varie en fonction de la capacité
de la batterie, la décharge, la température et la tension de sortie du chargeur.
La tension de sortie du chargeur est supérieure à la tension nominale de la batterie (batterie
12.8 V, chargeur AC15 –pas raccordé à une batterie –15.8 V). Avec le AC15, la tension de
sortie de la batterie n'est pas contrôlée électroniquement. Le courant de sortie fourni à la fin du
processus de charge peut surcharger la batterie et réduire sa durée de vie.
Conclusion :
L'ampèremètre indique la tension de (sur)charge. Vérifier régulièrement le processus de
charge. La batterie est complètement chargée lorsque le courant de charge n'a pas changé
pendant une heure. Déconnecter la batterie du chargeur pour éviter toute surcharge.
L'automatisation du processus de charge nécessite un chargeur automatique (spécialement
pour cette batterie ou série de batteries).
6. Fusibles
Le chargeur AC15 intègre 3 fusibles.
1. Fusible thermique : Ce fusible coupe l’alimentation lors d’une surchauffe du chargeur.
L’alimentation sera rétablie une fois que le chargeur soit descendu à la température
ambiante.
2. Fusible d’entrée : Protège le chargeur d’anomalies d’alimentation. Pour remplacer,
déconnecter le chargeur du réseau électrique et déconnecter la batterie. Desserrer le
porte-fusible et remplacer par un fusible avec les mêmes spécifications (F2 A/250 V).
Réinsérer le porte-fusible dans le chargeur et resserrer.
3. Fusible de sortie : Protège la batterie connectée des surcharges. Pour remplacer,
déconnecter le chargeur du réseau électrique et déconnecter la batterie. Retirer le fusible
et remplacer par un nouvel exemplaire de 15 A.
7. Entretien
•Toujours déconnecter le chargeur du réseau électrique et déconnecter la batterie avant le
nettoyage.
•Ne jamais nettoyer le chargeur avec de l’eau ou tout autre liquide.
•Éviter les produits à base de benzène, de trichloréthylène, de chlorure, d’ammoniac…
•Vérifier régulièrement le niveau du liquide de la batterie et remplir si nécessaire.
•Se débarrasser des piles en respectant la réglementation locale relative à la protection de
l’environnement.

2. Instrucciones de seguridad

ADVERTENCIA - No recargue baterías no recargables o
defectuosas. Este cargador no es apto para recargar baterías
selladas de plomo-ácido (SLA) o con una regulación por válvula
(VLRA).
•Este aparato no es apto para niños menores de 8 años ni para
personas con capacidades físicas, sensoriales o mentales
reducidas ni para personas con una falta de experiencia y
conocimientos del producto, salvo si están bajo la vigilancia de
una persona que pueda garantizar la seguridad. Asegúrese de
que los niños no jueguen con este dispositivo. Nunca deje que
los niños limpien o manipulen el aparato sin supervisión.
•Un cable de alimentación dañado debe ser reemplazado por el
distribuidor, un técnico u otra persona cualificada para evitar
cualquier peligro.
•Primero, conecte el terminal de la batería que no está
conectado al chasis. Luego, conecte el otro terminal al chasis,
lejos de la batería y del manguito del combustible. Ahora,
enchufe el cargador de baterías.

Primero, desconecte la conexión al chasis y luego la conexión a
la batería.

•¡Ojo!: puede sufrir una peligrosa descarga eléctrica al tocar un
cable conectado a la red eléctrica.
•¡No toque el aparato durante su operación: la caja se calienta!
•No exponga este equipo a lluvia, humedad ni a ningún tipo de
salpicadura o goteo. Nunca ponga un objeto con líquido en el
aparato.
•Desconecte el aparato de la red eléctrica si no lo utiliza. Tire
siempre del enchufe para desconectar el cable de red, nunca
del propio cable. No exponga los cables al calor, el aceite y
objetos afilados.
•Lleve gafas de protección al manejar una batería.
•Lleve guantes de protección (resistente al ácido) al manejar
baterías no selladas.
•Riesgo de explosión: El procedimiento de carga produce gases
electrolíticos inflamables. No lleve ropa sintética para evitar las
descargas electroestáticas.
•Asegúrese de que la tensión de red no sobrepase la tensión
indicada en las especificaciones.
•No aplaste los cables y protéjalos contra posibles daños
causados por algún tipo de superficie afilada. Si es necesario,
pida a su distribuidor reemplazar el cable de alimentación.
•No utilice el aparato si la caja o los cables están dañados. La
reparación debe ser realizada por personal especializado. No
abra la batería ni el cargador.
•Los daños causados por modificaciones no autorizadas, no
están cubiertos por la garantía.
•No exponga el aparato al sol ni temperaturas extremas. Nunca
bloquee los orificios de ventilación.
•El ácido de la batería puede hervir, lo que no es anormal. No

•Reemplace sólo los fusibles por fusibles idénticas.

4. Preparación
Controle el estado de los cables y del aparato antes de cada uso. ¡Nunca utilice un cargador o
cables dañados!
1. Desconecte la batería del coche antes de la carga. Primero desconecte el polo negativo,
luego el polo positivo.
2. Limpie los polos con un cepillo de alambre o papel de lija.
3. Saque las tapas y controle el nivel del ácido. Añada agua destilada o desmineralizada si
fuera necesario (asegúrese de que el líquido cubra todos los elementos de 1 cm).
Observación: El ácido es un líquido corrosivo; por consiguiente, evite cualquier contacto
con la piel o la ropa. En caso de contacto con el ácido, enjuague inmediatamente con agua
clara y contacte con un médico si fuera necesario.
4. Saque todas las tapas durante la recarga, salvo si la batería está equipada con una
protección contra chispas. Véase la ficha técnica de la batería o consulte un técnico.
5. Asegúrese de que el cargador no esté conectado a la red eléctrica.
6. Conecte el polo positivo (rojo) del cargador solidamente al polo positivo (+) de la batería.
Asegúrese de que la pinza esté bien fijada.
7. Conecte el polo negativo (negro) del cargador solidamente al polo negativo (+) de la
batería. Asegúrese de que la pinza esté bien fijada.
8. Seleccione la tensión de salida deseada. Asegúrese de que la tensión coincida con las
especificaciones de la batería conectada!
9. Conecte el cargador a la red eléctrica.
5. Funcionamiento
1. Active el aparato.
2. Ponga el interruptor MIN/BOOST en la posición MIN para una recarga lenta (corriente débil,
7 A) o en la posición BOOST para una recarga rápida (corriente de alta densidad, 9 A).
3. El amperímetro indica la corriente de carga. Cuanto más importante es el nivel de carga de
la batería, menos corriente absorba la batería. En cuanto la aguja del amperímetro esté en
la posición 0 (cero), interrumpa el procedimiento de recarga para evitar los daños causados
por el nivel de tensión de batería creciente.
Observación: Es posible determinar el nivel de carga al medir la densidad del ácido con un
densímetro (véase lista abajo).

4. Si la batería está completamente cargada, desconecte inmediatamente la batería del
cargador. Una sobrecarga puede destruir la batería.
