GREAT BRITISH DESIGN, INNOVATION
AND EXCELLENCE SINCE 1912
Since the turn of the 20th century, Tower has been designing,
developing and manufacturing housewares and small
appliances used by millions of households throughout the
UK and beyond. During the 1960s, the rise in popularity
of pressure cooking saw Tower become the UK’s largest
producer of pressure cookers, right through into the late
1980s. In recent years the Tower brand has been reborn with
an exciting and varied range of housewares and electrical
appliances that have quickly reinstated the brand’s richly
deserved status as a household name.

1. Remove your appliance from the packaging and carefully check the contents
against the parts list.
2. Check that there is no damage to the cord or any visible damage to the body.
3. Dispose of the packaging in a responsible manner.
4. Remove any stickers or labels from the appliance
5. Stand the steamer upright and straighten the cord.
6. Before first use, turn the steamer on for a few minutes. This will help remove
any impurities and odours resulting from the manufacturing process. Once
the steamer has been purified, test it on an old piece of fabric to ensure the
plate and water tank are clean of any residue.
7. To avoid a circuit overload, do not use the steamer with an extension socket.
Filling the tank with water:
CAUTION! Before filling the tank with water make sure the appliance is unplugged.
1. To use the unit, start by filling up the water tank located at the bottom.
2. To fill up the water tank, first press the tank release button on the side of the
unit to detach it from the main body of the steamer.
3. Once the water tank has been detached from the steamer, remove the
pressure cap from the filling hole at the back of the water tank. To do this,
insert a finger or fingernail into the small space at the top of the water
tank cover and pull it firmly away from the main body of the unit. Once the
water tank cover has been removed, fill the tank with fresh water. To ensure
optimum performance, be careful not to fill the tank above the Max fill line.
Note: It is not necessary to undo the screws at the back of the water tank to fill it.
DO NOT loosen any screws or attempt to disassemble the water tank.
4. When the tank has been filled with water, replace the pressure cap and slot
the tank back into the main body of the unit until it clicks into place.
5. The steamer is now ready for normal use.
Note: When the water tank is empty or there is a build-up of limescale inside, the
unit’s operation will become noisier than usual and steam will stop emitting from
the steam nozzle. When this occurs, re-fill the water tank or de-scale the unit as
detailed in the ‘Cleaning and Care’ section of this instruction manual.
To start using the garment steamer:
1. Fill the tank with water, as detailed above.
2. Once the tank has been filled and replaced into the main body of the steamer,
plug the unit into an active mains socket. The red light-up indicator at the top
of the steamer will begin to flash to indicate the unit is powered up and the
heat-up process has begun.
3. When the water inside the unit reaches the correct temperature, the red light-
up indicator will go out. The steamer is now ready for use.
4. When the steamer is ready, press the trigger at the front of the unit to begin
releasing steam. The motor unit will vibrate slightly and steam will start
emitting from the front nozzle.
4 - Before First Use
5 - Using Your Appliance

9
Note: For optimum results, keep a distance of at least 5cm between the steamer
and the garment or fabric.
5. The unit will now operate continuously until the trigger is released or the unit
is unplugged from the mains.
The Brush Attachment:
1. This appliance is complete with a brush attachment, ideal for use with suits
and other similar garments.
2. To attach the brush to the main unit, line up the hole at the bottom of the
attachment with the small tab underneath the steam nozzle and push it in
until it locks into place.
3. Once the underside of the brush is firmly secured into place, push the top part
of the attachment up and back until it slots into place on the main body of the
unit.
4. The brush attachment is now ready for normal use.
Note: Ensure the attachment is firmly secured before attempting to use it.
6 - Troubleshooting
Problem Solution
No operation.
• Ensure the appliance is plugged into the mains and that the
socket switch is in the ON position.
• Ensure the water tank has been filled.
• If using the unit for the first time or after a long period, press
the steam trigger for approximately 1 minute before using the
unit. This helps push the water through the steam pipe.
• Check that the fuse is not damaged. Replace the fuse if
necessary.
The unit is vibrating and making a
loud noise.
• The water tank is running low. Refill the water tank as
detailed in the ‘Filling the Water Tank’ section.
• There may be limescale in the water tank. De-scale the
unit as instructed in the ‘Cleaning and Care’ section of this
instruction manual.
There is a strange smell emitting from
the unit on first use.
• This is normal. The smell derives from oils used during the
manufacturing process, and will fade away after a few uses.
The unit is leaking. • The unit has not heated up sufficiently yet. Allow the unit to
heat up fully before attempting to use.
White flakes are coming out of the
steam holes during operation.
• There is limescale in the water tank. De-scale the unit
as instructed in the ‘Cleaning and Care’ section of this
instruction manual.
The unit is in operation but there is
no steam.
• If the unit has not been used for a while, an airlock may have
formed. Press the steam trigger for approximately 1 minute
before using the unit. This helps push the water through the
steam pipe.
• There may be limescale in the water tank. De-scale the
unit as instructed in the ‘Cleaning and Care’ section of this
instruction manual.
• The unit has not heated up sufficiently yet. Allow the unit to
heat up fully before attempting to use.

10
Limescale:
If you live in a particularly hard water area, we recommend using bottled or distilled
water.
WARNING: Never pour liquid cleaners for eliminating calcium into the water tank.
De-Scaling:
IMPORTANT! Failure to de-scale your steamer may invalidate your guarantee.
If you do not de-scale your steamer regularly, the build-up of limescale may result
in the following:
• The unit taking longer to heat up.
• Damage to the heating element.
To Minimise Scale Build-Up:
• Empty the unit of water after each use.
• Do not allow water to stand in the unit overnight.
• Use filtered water instead of tap water to help reduce limescale build up.
How To De-Scale:
• Any regular de-scaling agent may be used, provided the relevant instructions
are observed. To avoid spillage, DO NOT overfill the unit if the de-scaling agent
causes the water to foam.
• To clean the unit thoroughly of any de-calcification residue; let it go through
several heating-up cycles using clean water with each cycle. Rinse the unit with
clean water afterwards.
• It is advisable to remove limescale deposits from the unit at regular intervals.

Removing Limescale Build-up:
If using a cleaning solution make sure to follow the instructions.
Natural Cleaning Method for Limescale Removal:
• Fill the unit with equal parts water and vinegar (white wine vinegar, cider
vinegar or lemon juice work particularly well). Allow the unit to heat up (pay
attention that the contents do not boil over) and let it stand for 30-40 minutes.
• When finished empty the unit and rinse it with water.
• The unit should now be free from limescale and ready to be used again.
Clean the appliance regularly. This appliance contains no user serviceable parts and
requires little maintenance. Leave any servicing or repair to qualified personnel.
• To clean, wipe the exterior with a slightly dampened soft cloth or sponge and
dry with a cloth or paper towel.
• Do not use strong cleaners or abrasives that may scratch the surface, and never
spray cleaners directly onto the unit.
Note: Empty the water tank after each use or when the unit will not be used for
prolonged periods of time.
IMPORTANT!
Do not use the appliance if the surface is wet or damp. ALWAYS make sure the
steam outlet holes are dry before storing the appliance.
Store the appliance upright in a cool, dry place, out of the reach of children.
WARNING:
