Charging:
Use the cigarette lighter charge cord provided to charger your unit off of a 12V
DC power source.
oIt takes 6-8 hours to fully recharge the batteries in the light.
oYou cannot overcharge the unit off of the trucks 12V system.
The batteries in the unit should have a total life of 1-2 years.
oIf a battery dies prior to the expected 12 month lifetime, TowMate may
choose to warranty (generally under 6 months), or pro-rate (6-12 months),
the replacement.
If your light appears to have low batteries or will not take a charge, be sure that
the fuse in the tip of the charge cord is still good. If it is blown, replace with a 5-10
amp fuse.
Additional Tips:
Always check to be sure that the light is securely fastened to the load you are
hauling.
Leave the light on charge when not in use so that it will be ready for the job when
you are.
When hooking up to charge, turn the light on when you first plug in to see if it is
getting power. If it is receiving power, the light should immediately come on
bright.
Service:
Changing the battery:
oIn order to change the battery, first remove the 6”oval LED on the face of
the unit.
oRemove the black protector caps from the back of the light that cover the
battery bracket bolts.
oRemove the battery bracket by unscrewing the bolts from the outside of
the unit while holding the 7/16”nut in place on the inside of the light.
oSlide the female connectors off of the battery contacts and remove the
battery from the light through the 6”oval lens hole.
oReplace with a new battery (available for $20 + shipping through
TowMate).
oReverse the above steps in order to reseal the unit properly.
