1 Introduction
This manual is intended for users of the AMI MOUSE 300 DUAL SCROLL. Prior
knowledge for installing and using this product is not necessary. This mouse has a
vertical as well as a horizontal scroll wheel.
2 Safety
1. Do not use the device in damp environments, such as bathrooms, damp
basements, swimming pools, etc.
2. Do not repair the device yourself.
3. Under the following circumstances have the device repaired by qualified
personnel:
a) The cable or plug is damaged or worn;
b) Liquid has entered the device;
c) The device has fallen and/or the casing has been damaged;
4. Position the device so that the cables cannot be damaged.
3 Installation
Before installing the software of the AMI MOUSE 300 DUAL SCROLL, you must first
delete the setup programs for your previous mouse. Consult the manual of your
previous mouse for this.
3.1 Connecting
1. Make sure the computer is off and any old mouse drivers have been deleted
from your system.
2. Connect the mouse to the PS/2 or serial port of your computer.
3. Switch the computer on. The mouse is automatically detected and installed in
all operating systems.
3.2 Installation software
1. Insert the CD-ROM in your CD-ROM player. The installer will start
automatically.
If this is not the case, follow the steps below:
a) Select ‘Run’ in the start-up menu.
b) Type in [D:\SETUP.EXE] and click on ‘OK’ to start up the Trust
Software Installer.
2. Figure 1 will appear.
3. Click on the language you want to use for installation.
4. Click on ‘AMI MOUSE 300 DUAL SCROLL‘ to start the installation.
5. Follow the steps which appear on your screen.
6. When figure 2 appears, click on ‘finish’. The mouse has been installed and is
ready for use.

4 Use
4.1 Mouse
The functions of the buttons are explained in table 1 in combination with figure 3.

4.2 Maintenance
The mouse ball will pick up dirt in use and may start to function more poorly due to
this.
1. Switch the computer off.
2. Remove the ring that holds the ball in place.
3. Take the ball out of its compartment.
4. Clean the compartment of the ball. Use a slightly moist cotton swab (not too
moist). The mouse may stop functioning if it is too moist.
5. Clean the ball by holding it under the cold water faucet for a short time and dry
it with a lint-proof cloth.
6. Put the ball back in the mouse, put the ring back in place and switch the
computer on.

4.3 Software
1. Double-click on the Trust icon in the system tray. See figure 4.
2. The mouse configuration screen will appear. See figure 5.
3. In the button menu you can:
• Assign buttons; select the button you want and assign a function to it
by means of the pulldown menu.
• Set the double-click speed; move the slider to slow or fast.
• Set for right or left-hand operation; select left or right handed.
• After programming the selected settings, click on ‘apply’.
4. In the ‘wheel’ menu (figure 6) you can:
• Set the wheel mode; select ‘Enhanced Dual Wheel-Mode’ which uses
all functions of the MS IntelliMouse plus vertical and horizontal scrolling
in Windows 95, 98, 2000 and NT-programs or select ‘MS-IntelliMouse-
comp. Mode’ which only uses the vertical scroll wheel and has the
same functions as the MS IntelliMouse. If you select ‘vertical and
horizontal wheel’, the functions of these two are reversed.
• Setting the horizontal and vertical scroll speed; Select the number of
lines per scroll or one page per scroll.
• Switch on the zoom function in office 97/2000.
5. In the ‘Settings’ menu (figure 9) you can change the ‘netjump’ and ‘luckyjump’
menus to your liking.
6. To create new functions, click on ‘New/Update’. Follow the instructions on your
screen.
Note: The ‘netjump’ and Luckyjump’ menu can be assigned to one of the mouse
buttons via the ‘buttons’ menu.

5 Troubleshooting
