The device is used to check the charge level
of a 6 or 12 Volt battery� In addition, it can
also be used to test the charging function of
the alternator� Damage or injury caused by
misuse and disregarding the above warning is
not covered by the warranty or any liability on
the part of the manufacturer� The device is not
intended for commercial use� Commercial use
will void the guarantee�

measuring cable is damaged�
The measuring cable is not
designed to be repaired�
Explosion and fire
hazard: Ensure that explosive or
flammable substances, such as
petrol or solvents cannot be
ignited when you are using the
device! Keep ignition sources
(e�g� naked light, burning cigars,
cigarettes or electrical sparks)
away from the starter batteries�
Danger of caustic burns:
Protect your eyes and skin from
caustic burns from the acid
(sulphuric acid) when it comes into
contact with the battery! Do not
look directly at the connected and
use acid-resistant safety goggles,
clothing and gloves! If your eyes
or skin have come into contract
with the sulphuric acid, flush the
affected body region with plenty
of clear, running water and seek
medical advice at once!
Avoid an electrical short circuit
when connecting the device to
the battery� Only connect the
red quick contact connection

Only connect the black quick
contact connection clamp 4to
the negative terminal (“-”) of the
battery�
Only touch the quick connection
clamps 3and 4in the insu-
lated area!
Attention:
Avoid damage to property
from improper use!
Use the device only with the
original parts it was delivered
with!
Keep the contact surfaces of the
battery free of dust and lubri-
cants� If necessary, clean the
contact surfaces with a clean
cloth�
zOperation
First connect the red quick contact
connection clamp 3to the positive
terminal (“+”) of the battery�
Then connect the black quick contact
connection clamp 4to the negative
terminal (“-”) of the battery�
The device can be attached to the vehicle
chassis during the measurement process
using the magnetic strips 2on the back
of the device�

zSelect operating mode
 The device automatically detects whether
a 6V or 12 V battery is connected�
 If this function does not work
(e�g� discharged 12 V battery is identified
as a 6V battery), then set the selector
switch 1on the front of the device to 6V
or 12V, depending on the type of battery
or alternator to be tested�
zBattery test/starting capacity
 If only the “very low charge” LED is lit
up, the charge status of the battery is
low� In this LED status, the electrical volt-
age in 6 Volt operating mode is approx�
5�8Volt and in 12 Volt operating mode it
is approx� 11�5 Volt� The battery must be
recharged�
 If additionally, the “half-charged” LED is
lit up, the battery is half charged� In this
LED status, the electrical voltage in 6 Volt
operating mode is approx� 6�1 Volt and
in 12Volt operating mode it is approx�
12Volt� We would recommend that the
battery is recharged�
 If the “fully charged” LED is also lit up,
then the battery is fully charged and has
the capacity to start the vehicle� In this
LED status, the electrical voltage in 6 Volt
operating mode is approx� 6�4 Volt and
in 12 Volt operating mode it is approx�
12�6Volt�

maintenance of your battery in the
operating instructions before charging
the battery!

Please note:
If in 6 V operating mode,
no LEDs are lit up, then it can
be presumed that the battery
is defective or completely
discharged�
If when you connect a 12 V
battery one of the LED in 6 V
operating mode lights up, then it
can be presumed that the battery
is completely discharged or
defective�
zAlternator test
Connect the device to the battery,
as described in the “Operation” section�
Start the engine and switch on all
consumers (headlights, radio, heated rear
screen, etc�)�
Increase the idle speed up to 2500 RPM
for a short time�
If the “charging function O�K�” LED to the
“charging function MAXIMUM” is lit up,
then the alternator or voltage regulator is
in good working order� In this LED status,
the electrical voltage in 6 Volt operating
mode is approx� 6�7 Volt or 7�3 Volt and
in 12 Volt operating mode it is approx�
13�2 Volt or 14�5 Volt�
If the “Overvoltage/controller defect” LED
is lit up, then the alternator or voltage
regulator is defective� In this LED status,
the electrical voltage in 6 Volt operating
mode is approx� 7�8 Volt and in 12 Volt
operating mode it is approx� 15�5 Volt�
In this case, contact your vehicle repair
shop�
