1.Wichtige Hinweise
Lesen Sie vor der Inbetriebnahme des ultraHEAD-LOCKs II die Gebrauchsanleitung und die
Sicherheitshinweise sorgfältig durch. Um Bedienungsfehler zu vermeiden, bewahren Sie die
Gebrauchsanleitung auf.
Sollten Sie weitere Informationen wünschen,Probleme in der Anwendung oder
Instandhaltung haben,wenden Sie sich bitte an den örtlichen Fachhändler oder direkt an
ultraMEDIC GmbH.Geben Sie immer die LOT- oder Seriennummer zur Identifizierung des
Produkts an.
1.1 Zweckbestimmung des Produkts
Das ultraHEAD-LOCK II ist ein Medizinprodukt und wird als Kopffixiersystem für Spineboard
verwendet.Es ist für Patienten mit einem Mindestalter von 2 Jahren vorgesehen.
1.2 Benutzergruppe
Dieses Produkt darf nur vom sachkundigen,geschulten Fachpersonal benutzt werden,
Einsatzgrundsätze sind zu beachten.Nutzungsvoraussetzung ist theoretisches und
praktisches Wissen in der Handhabung der Kopffixiersysteme.
1.3 Garantiebestimmungen
Der Hersteller gewährt auf dieses Produkt 24 Monate Garantie.Die Garantie schließt nur
die Kosten für Ersatzteile ein.
Keiner Garantie unterliegen:a) eventuell auf der Seite des Käufers anfallende Versand–
oder Arbeitslohnkosten; b) Defekte des Produkts aufgrund der üblichen Abnutzung,
c) durch den Anwender verursachte Beschädigungen; d) durch Nichtbeachtung der
Anweisungen dieses Dokumentes entstandene Mängel oder Schäden; e) jegliche
Veränderungen oder Reparaturen am Produkt ohne vorherige Genehmigung durch
ultraMEDIC GmbH.
1.4 Konformitätserklärung
Das ultraHEAD-LOCK II wurde gemäß der gültigen EU-Verordnung hergestellt. Eine
Konformitätserklärung zu diesem Produkt kann über den Händler oder Hersteller bezogen
werden.
2. Hinweise zur Sicherheit und zum Schutz vom Produkt
1. Prüfen Sie vor und nach jeder Anwendung die Unversehrtheit und

Vollständigkeit des ultraHEAD-LOCKs II.
2. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass das ultraHEAD-LOCK II korrekt
zusammengebaut ist.
3. Führen Sie vor dem ersten Gebrauch ein Probelauf mit dem ultraHEAD-
LOCK II durch, um die Handhabung des Produkts kennenzulernen.
4. Sollten Beschädigungen oder nur der Verdacht auf Beschädigungen
an dem ultraHEAD-LOCK II oder Gurten auftreten, nehmen Sie das
Produkt sofort außer Betrieb, bis die aufgetretenen Unregelmäßigkeiten
behoben sind.
5. Alle im Zusammenhang mit dem Produkt aufgetretenen
schwerwiegenden Vorfälle sind dem Hersteller und der zuständigen
Behörde des Mitgliedstaats, in dem der Anwender und/oder der Patient
niedergelassen ist, zu melden.
3.Anwendung des ultraHEAD-LOCK II
Beim Anlegen des ultraHEAD-LOCKs II am Patienten darf die manuelle
Immobilisierung nicht unterbrochen werden.
1.Befestigen Sie die Grundplatte am Spineboard mit Hilfe des breiten Befestigungsgurtes
(Bild 1a,b).

2.Platzieren Sie den Patienten auf dem Spineboard so, dass der Kopf auf der Grundplatte
zentriert ruht. Um die neutrale Ausrichtung sicherzustellen,kann eine zusätzliche
Abpolsterung unter dem Kopf (bei Erwachsenen) oder dem Oberkörper (bei Kindern)
erforderlich werden.

3.Öffnen Sie beide Fixierrahmengriffe und führen Sie die Fixierrahmen in den Schienen bis
zum Patientenkopf, richten Sie die Aussparungen an den Ohren aus.
4.Drücken Sie beide Griffe des Fixierrahmens zum Feststellen nach unten (Bild 2b). Für
eventuelle Nachjustierungen ziehen Sie beide Griffe nach oben (Bild 2a).In dieser Position
können Sie die Fixierrahmen wieder bewegen.
5.Befestigen Sie die beiden schmalen Fixiergurte an den Fixierrahmen.Zentrieren Sie die
Gurte über dem Kinn und der Stirn des Patienten (Bild 3).
6.Stellen Sie vor der Verwendung sicher,dass alle Gurte fest fixiert sind.
4.Vorbereitung zur Wiederverwendung
• Vorrichtung zerlegen:
Nehmen Sie beide Fixierrahmen von der Grundplatte und die Grundplatte vom
Rettungsboard ab.
Nach sachgerechter Reinigung können die Teile wieder verwendet werden. Sollten Polster
und schmale Fixiergurte sehr stark mit Körperflüssigkeiten verunreinigt sein,ersetzen Sie

diese.
• Abbürsten oder in Desinfektionslösung einlegen:
Bürsten Sie alle Teile mit einer Warmwasser– und Geschirrspülmittellösung 4 min lang ab
oder legen sie in Desinfektionsmittellösung ein (38°C mit 0,5% Konzentration).
• Abspülen und trocknen:
Spülen Sie alle Teile mit sauberem,38°C warmem Wasser ab und lassen Sie alles
vollständig bei Zimmertemperatur lufttrocknen.
• Polster anbringen:
Falls notwendig, bringen Sie Ersatzpolster und Gurte an.
• Grundplatte wieder anbringen:
Bringen Sie die Grundplatte wieder am Rettungsboard an und bewahren Sie die
Fixierrahmen auf.
5. Reinigung und Pflege
Benutzen Sie zur Reinigung keinesfalls Produkte mit aggressiven
Mitteln (Bleichmittel,Ammoniak usw.), vermeiden Sie zur Entfernung
von Flecken den Gebrauch von kratzenden Materialien wie Bürsten,
Stahlwolle und Messerklingen.
Für die Desinfektion können Sie handelsübliche auf Alkohol basierende Mittel benutzen.
Andere Lösungen oder Reinigungschemikalien können das Material beschädigen.
Gurte: Die nass gewordenen Gurte dürfen nur auf natürliche Weise trocknen und sind von
direkter Wärmeeinwirkung fern zu halten.
Teile aus Kunststoff: Mit Wasser, Neutralseife oder geeignetem Desinfektionsmittel
reinigen,abspülen und trocknen.
6.Wartung
Um im Einsatz die Sicherheit des Verletzten und des Anwenders zu gewährleisten,
empfehlen wir, das ultraHEAD-LOCK II und Gurte mindestens einer jährlichen Sichtprüfung
durch einen Sachkundigen zu unterziehen.
Für die Nutzer in Deutschland empfehlen wir, die MPBetreibV zu berücksichtigen.
Für die Nutzer außerhalb von Deutschland ist eine regelmäßige Prüfung nach
Mitteln (Bleichmittel,Ammoniak usw.), vermeiden Sie zur Entfernung
von Flecken den Gebrauch von kratzenden Materialien wie Bürsten,
Stahlwolle und Messerklingen.

landesspezifischen Vorgaben erforderlich.
Folgende Teile müssen geprüft und folgende Mängel ausgeschlossen werden:
Grundplatte Verformung, Risse ,Brüche, abgebrochene Teile
Gurte Schnitt-und Scheuerstellen,Beschädigung der Nähte,
gewebeschädigende Flecken
Teile aus Kunststoff Verformung, Risse,Brüche
sonstige Beschädigungen
Sollten Beschädigungen oder nur der Verdacht auf Beschädigungen
auftreten, nehmen Sie das Produkt sofort außer Betrieb.
7. Lagerung
Lagern Sie das ultraHEAD-LOCK II trocken und dunkel.Vermeiden Sie direkte
Sonneneinstrahlung und direkte Wärmestrahlung von Heizquellen.Diese Faktoren können
das Material beschädigen.
Schützen Sie die Blockierungsvorrichtungen und die beweglichen Teile vor Staub-
und Schmutzablagerungen,um deren maximale Wirksamkeit bei der Anwendung
beizubehalten.
8. Lebensdauer
Die Ablegereife richtet sich nach dem Zustand des Produktes, dessen Einsatzhäufigkeit
und den äußeren Einsatzbedingungen.
Die Lebensdauer des ultraHEAD-LOCK II ist von den individuellen Einsatzbedingungen
abhängig.Je nach Häufigkeit und Intensität der Nutzung des ultraHEAD-LOCKs II ist eine
Abnutzung normal.Auch bei sorgfältiger Behandlung unterliegt das Material einem
Alterungsprozess.Aussonderung des Produkts sollte nach Beurteilung dessen Zustands
erfolgen.Eine sachgemäße Anwendung wird hier vorausgesetzt.
Lebensdauer der Gurte wird auf max.10 Jahre festgelegt.Lebensdauer des optionalen
Zubehörs entnehmen Sie aus den dazugehörigen Bedienungsanleitungen.

1. Important information
Before using the ultraHEAD-LOCK II, please read the operating manual and safety
instructions carefully.Keep the operating manual in a safe place to avoid operating errors.
Should you require further information or encounter difficulties in its use or maintenance,
please contact your local dealership or ultraMEDIC GmbH directly.Always specify the LOT-
or serial number to identify the ultraHEAD-LOCK II.
1.1 Intended use of the product
The ultraHEAD-LOCK II is a head restraint system for use with spinal boards and intended
for patients aged 2 years and older.
1.2 User groups
This product may only be used by qualified,expert personnel.A prerequisite is theoretical
and practical experience in handling head restraint systems.
1.3 Warranty terms
The manufacturer grants a warranty period of 24 months on this product.The warranty
only encompasses the costs of the spare parts.
The following points are not covered by the warranty:a) possibly omitted shipping or
labour costs incurred on the purchaser’s side; b) defects in the product due to normal
wear and tear; c) damages caused by the user; d) defects or damages caused by non-
compliance with the instructions in this document; e) any modifications or repairs to the
product without prior approval by ultraMEDIC GmbH.
1.4. Declaration of conformity
The ultraHEAD-LOCK II was manufactured in accordance with the current EU regulation.A
declaration of conformity for these products can be acquired from the local dealership or
the manufacturer.
2. Information on the safety and protection of the product
1. Before and after every use, check the components and patient
restraining belts for damage and completeness.
2. Ensure that the patient restraining belts are correctly installed.

3. Before initial use, conduct a test run with the ultraHEAD-LOCK II to
become aware of the handling of the product.
4. In the event of damage or suspected damage to the straps or the
ultraHEAD-LOCK II, remove the product from operation immediately until
any occurring irregularities have been remedied.
5. All serious incidents related to the device shall be reported to the
manufacturer and to the competent authority of the Member State
where the user and/or the patient is established.
3. Use of the ultraHEAD-LOCK II
Manual immobilisation may not be interrupted when applying the
ultraHEAD-LOCK II on the patient.
1.Attach the base plate to the spinal board with the help of the broad restraint strap
(Figure1a,b).

2.Place the patient onto the spinal board so that the head rests in the centre of the base
plate.To ensure a neutral alignment,additional padding may be required under the head
(in adults) or the thorax (in children).
3.Open both restraint frame handles and guide the restraint frames into the rails up to the
patient’s head, then align the recesses with the ears.
4.To arrest,push both handles downwards. (Figure 2b).For possible adjustments,pull the

handles upwards and adjust the restraint frames (Figure 2a).
5. Attach both narrow restraint straps to the restraint frame.Centre the straps above the
chin and forehead of the patient (Figure 3).
6.Before use, ensure that all straps are fastened tightly.
4. Preparaton for reuse
• Dismantling the equipment:
Remove both restraint frames from the base plate, and the base plate from the rescue
board.
Parts can be reused after they have been appropriately cleaned.If pads and narrow fixing
straps are very heavily contaminated with body fluids,replace them.
• Brushing or immersing in disinfectant:
Brush all parts with a warm water and dish-washing liquid solution for 4 minutes or
immerse them in disinfectant (at 38°C with a concentration of 0.5%).

• Rinsing and drying:
Rinse all parts with clean, warm (38°C) water and leave everything to air-dry completely at
room temperature.
• Attaching the padding:
If required,attach spare padding and straps.
• Reattaching the base plate:
Reattach the base plate to the rescue board and store the restraint frames.
5. Cleaning and Care
Never use products with aggressive agents (bleach, ammonia, etc.) for
cleaning, avoid the use of scratching materials to remove stains such as
brushes, steel wool and knife blades.
For disinfection,you can use commercially available alcohol-based agents. Other
solutions or cleaning chemicals may damage the material.
Straps: The straps that have gotten wet should only dry naturally.Avoid direct heat
radiation from heat sources.These factors could damage the material.
Plastic parts: Clean with a sponge drenched with water diluted with disinfectant and then
rinse and dry completely.
6. Maintenance
In order to ensure the safety of the user and the injured party during a rescue mission,we
recommend that you have the ultraHEAD-LOCK II and straps visually inspected by an expert
on an annual basis.
For German users,we recommend consideration to the following regulations and
guidelines of MPBetreibV.
For users outside of Germany,a regular check according to country-specific requirements
is required.
The following parts must be checked and the following defects must be excluded:
Base plate deformation,tears,breaks,broken parts
Straps Cutting and abrasion points, damaged seams, tissue-
damaging stains

In the event of damage or suspected damages, remove the product

7. Storage
Store the ultraHEAD-LOCK II in a dry and dark place.Avoid direct sunlight and direct heat
radiation from heat sources.These factors can damage the material.
Protect the blocking devices and moving parts from dust and dirt deposits to maintain
their maximum effectiveness during use.
8. Service life
The service life of the ultraHEAD-LOCK II depends on the individual conditions of use.
Depending on how frequently and intensely the ultraHEAD-LOCK II is used, wear and tear
on the product is normal.In this regard,correct use is assumed.The material is subject to
an ageing process even if handled carefully.The product should be discarded depending
on its condition.
Service life of the straps is set at max. 10 years.
For the service life of the optional accessories, please refer to the relevant operating
instructions.
