Installation Precautions
1. Verify that installation surface has no hidden
utility lines before drilling or driving screws.
2. Wear ANSI-approved safety
goggles during installation.
3. Mount securely before use.
4. Install only according to these instructions.
Improper installation can create hazards.
5. Keep installation area clean and well lit.
6. Keep bystanders out of the area during installation.
7. Do not install when tired or when under the
influence of alcohol, drugs or medication.
8. At least two people are needed to move this product.
9. Place the Safe on correct surface. Only use
this Safe on a stable, level, clean and dry
surface that is capable of sustaining the load.
Use Precautions
1. Keep closed and locked whenever unattended.

Check inside before closing.
Do not allow children to play with or near safe.
Keep keys and codes away from children.
2. Keep clear of door when closing.
3. Use only 9V battery. Position in proper polarity.
Do not use swollen or leaking battery.
4. Use as intended only.
5. Inspect before every use; do not use
if parts are loose or damaged.
6. Maintain product labels and nameplates.
These carry important safety information.
If unreadable or missing, contact
Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement.
7. Do not store Keys inside of the Safe.
Place your emergency keys in a location
outside of the safe making sure they are
in a secure location that you can find.

Installation Instructions
Read the ENTIRE IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION section at the beginning of this document
including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this product.
WARNING! TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY:
Verify that installation surface(s) have no hidden
utility lines before drilling or driving fasteners.
1. Only install Safe on a stable, level, clean
and dry floor capable of supporting the
weight of Safe and its contents.
2. Remove the two steel plates from the bottom of
the Safe by laying the Safe down and removing
two steel bolts from each steel plate.

3. Locate two mounting holes on bottom of Safe.
a. Remove Safe’s interior floor liner.
b. Remove the two black caps inside the floor fire
insulation that cover the holes. Save caps.

4. Using the Safe as a template, mark
locations of mounting holes on floor.
5. Secure Safe with anchors appropriate for the
mounting surface and are rated to support
the weight of the Safe and its contents.
6. Mount to floor with two Floor Anchors (included):
a. Using a masonry bit (sold separately) the same
diameter as the largest part of the floor Anchor
(14mm), drill two holes in marked locations, 1/4″
deeper than the length of the Anchor’s sleeve.
b. Using a hammer (sold separately), gently tap
floor Anchors into holes with threads facing up.
c. Place Safe over exposed ends of the two
floor Anchors, then secure with two M10 x 70
Lag Screws and Gasket Washers (included).

7. Replace saved black caps and
Safe’s interior floor liner.
Installing the Battery
1. To access the battery, remove the Keypad cover from
the front of the Safe by turning it counterclockwise.
2. Remove Keypad Cover and hold the
battery connector while removing/installing
the battery. Do not pull the wires.
3. Install battery and position it in proper polarity.
Do not use a swollen or leaking battery.

4. Replace Keypad Cover by screwing it back in place.
Leave door open until Entry Code is set.
Note: When the battery needs to be replaced, a red light
will illuminate when any button is pressed on the Keypad.
Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.

Shelf Installation
Place clips into the shelf mounting rails at the desired location and then
set the shelves in place. Use four clips per each shelf.

Opening with Key
Note: Do not store Keys inside Safe. Opening with
Key may be necessary when replacing battery or if
Entry Code is forgotten.
Store Keys in secure place outside of Safe.
1. From the front of the Safe, remove Keypad
Cover by turning it counterclockwise.
2. Allow the lock to hang from by its connecting
cable while unlocking the Safe.
3. Insert Safe Key into Key hole and turn 1/4
turn clockwise to unlock the Safe. Turn
handle clockwise and open the door.

4. Keep door open until a new entry code is
entered. Before entering the new code, remove
the Key and replace the Keypad Cover.

Opening with Entry Code
Note: The Safe comes preset with a code of
1 - 5 - 9 - #
1. When opening the Safe first time, install battery
and press the following numbers and symbol on the
Keypad in this order:
1 - 5 - 9 - #
2. After entering the code, turn the handle clockwise
to open the door. Do this within 5 seconds of
entering the code or the locking mechanism will
reactivate and you’ll need to re-enter the code.
Note: Keypad will disable for 20 seconds if Entry Code
is entered incorrectly three times in a row.
If the Entry Code is entered incorrectly three more
times the Keypad will disable for 5 minutes.
IMPORTANT! After opening the door, change
the Entry Code to insure proper security.
Changing the Entry Code
Note: Leave door open while setting
Entry Code. Write down Entry Code and
store in secure place outside of Safe
1. Set your own Entry Code after opening
the door. Locate a small Red Button on
the inside of the door near the hinge.
2. Press the Red Button and release it. Two beeps
will sound and a yellow light will illuminate on
the Keypad. The yellow light will stay on for the
period of time you have to enter your new code.
3. Enter your new code which must be 3 to 8 digits long.
4. Confirm your new Entry Code by pressing
the *key on the Keypad.
• The Safe will beep twice and the yellow light
will flash twice if the Code has been accepted.
• The yellow light will flash three times and the
Safe will beep if the Code has not been accepted.
Note: To turn off the “beep” sound of the Keypad,
enter *. To turn it back on, enter *.
5. Before closing the door, try the new Entry
Code to be sure the handle releases so it can
be turned and the side door bolts retract.
IMPORTANT: When opening the Safe in the
future, enter your Entry Code followed by #.
Closing
Keep closed and locked whenever unattended.
Check inside before closing.
Do not allow children to play with or near safe.
Keep keys and codes away from children.
Close Door and turn Handle counterclockwise
until it stops. If the handle is not turned
until it stops, the door is not locked.
Note: The lock is deactivated for a few seconds after
entering a new Entry Code. Wait 6 seconds before
trying to lock the Safe after entering a new Entry Code.

Maintenance
Procedures not specifically explained in this manual must
be performed only by a qualified technician.
1. Protect the Safe from moist or wet conditions.
Moisture may cause electronic damage in
the key pad or corrosion of the steel.
2. Occasionally wipe the safe and key pad clean with
a soft dry cloth or brush. Occasionally apply a small
amount of light oil or lock lubricant to the mechanical
lock mechanism. Be careful not to get any oil or
other liquids on or near the electronic mechanism.
3. Occasionally wipe the safe and Key Pad
clean with a soft dry cloth or brush.

prepaid. Proof of purchase date and an explanation of the complaint must accompany the merchandise.
If our inspection verifies the defect, we will either repair or replace the product at our election or we may
elect to refund the purchase price if we cannot readily and quickly provide you with a replacement. We will
return repaired products at our expense, but if we determine there is no defect, or that the defect resulted
from causes not within the scope of our warranty, then you must bear the cost of returning the product.
