General Rules
MSI bar code must be enabled
Must expand UPC-E to UPC-A
Scanners other than the two below may function but are not supported.
Blue Tooth scanner must programmed to have postscript ‘#’ added to each scan
*NOTE: When you see a bar code in this document, you are supposed to scan it as part of the set-up.

Programming - Unitech MS912 (Bluetooth)
1. Reset to factory Defaults.
2. Set Profile to HID.
3. Enable iOS Hotkey. You will be able to double click the trigger to enable/disable the keyboard.
4. Enable the MSI bar code.
5. Expand UPC-E bar code to UPC-A bar code.
6. Add the ‘#’ character to the end of each scan (Very Important).
7. Set “Power Off”to 15 minutes
8. Pair/Connect the scanner with your device (name is ‘Wireless Scanner’).

Programming - Symbol LS2208 (USB wired)
1. Set all Defaults.
2. Enable the MSI bar code.
3. Expand UPC-E bar code to UPC-A bar code
4. Erase any rules in place for the scanner.
5. Pair/Connect the scanner with your device (name is ‘Wireless Scanner’).
Unitech MS910 - Blue Tooth Connection
Special Instruction
To turn on the scanner, press the button until you hear a single beep or until you see the scanner working.
Before connecting to device (pairing), be sure that the LED light is blinking green. If not then be sure that it has been
turned on and is not paired with any other device.
If scanning is paused for too long, the scanner may turn off to save battery life. Turn it on and wait for one minute
before using the scanner so that it has a chance to reset itself.
Apple Device
1. Click ‘Settings’ icon
2. Select ‘Bluetooth’ and Turn On
3. Turn on the wireless scanner
4. Select ‘Wireless Scanner’ from list (it may take a couple of minutes to appear in list)
5. Scanner will be moved to ‘My Devices’ and will say ‘Connected’. Try this step again if not successful

Android Device
1. Select the ‘Settings’ App
2. Select the ‘Connections’ tab (at very top of page)
3. Select ‘Bluetooth’ and Turn On
4. Turn on the wireless scanner
5. Click ‘Scan’ to load all wireless devices. Continue to click ‘Scan’ until ‘Wireless Scanner’ appears.
6. Select ‘Wireless Scanner’ from list
7. It will say ‘Pairing’ and eventually get moved to the ‘Paired Devices’ section and will say ‘Connected’. Try this step
again in not successful.
Windows Device
1. Turn on wireless scanner
2. From the ‘Control Panel’, under ‘Hardware and Sound’, click ‘Add a Device’
3. Locate ‘Wireless Scanner’ (it will appear as a wireless keyboard) and select it (it may take a couple of minutes to
appear in the list) then click ‘Next’
4. The scanner will be connected, click ‘Close’
5. It will appear in the list of devices as a keyboard.

Switching between Keyboard and Blue Tooth Scanner
The blue tooth scanner will try to act as a replacement for the onboard key board. Follow the following guidelines when
switching between the two.
Apple
Be sure that scanner is awake and press the scan button twice to toggle the keyboard on and off.
Android (Samsung Galaxy 4)
Should recognize both.
Computer Devices/Browsers supported
Newer Apple iPod, iPad, and iPhone devices
oSafari (default)
oWhen testing the iPod, the scan was slow and ‘Done’ had to be pressed after each scan.
Samsung Galaxy 4 or higher (Android)
oDefault browser
oGoogle Chrome
Windows 7 or higher
oInternet Explorer 10 or higher
oGoogle Chrome version 42 or higher
oFirefox version 37 or higher
Other devices/browsers may work but are not supported.
