Allgemeines
Vor der Montage muss
der Installateur diese
Anleitung lesen, verste-
hen und beachten. Die
Uponor Systemkompo-
nenten sind aufeinander
abgestimmt und geprüft.
Für Fremdkomponenten
anderer Hersteller über-
nehmen wir keine Ge-
währleistung. Technische
Änderung vorbehalten!
Die Uponor Handpress-
zange MLC ist nach
dem neuesten Stand der
Technik gefertigt. Beim
Umgang mit der Uponor
Handpresszange MLC
sind die gültigen UVV
Bestimmungen zu beach-
ten. Eine eigenmächtige
Veränderung oder eine
nicht bestimmungs-
gemäße Verwendung
der Uponor Handpress-
zange MLC schließt eine
Haftung des Herstellers
für daraus resultierende
Schäden aus.
Verwendungszweck
Die Uponor Handpress-
zange MLC mit den
entsprechenden Uponor
Wechseleinsätzen MLC
dient ausschließlich
der Verbindung (Ver-
pressung) von Uponor
Pressfittings und
Uponor Unipipe MLC
Rohren der Dimensionen
14 – 20 mm.
Die Uponor Handpress-
zange MLC und die
Uponor Wechselein-
sätze MLC dürfen nur
in technisch einwand-
freiem Zustand ohne
augenmerkliche Schäden
benutzt werden. Das
Presswerkzeug ist nur für
den in der Bedienungs-
anleitung beschriebenen
Verwendungszweck ein-
zusetzen.
Verwenden Sie nur
Original-Ersatzteile
und Pressbacken-
einsätze von Uponor.

pressing tool MLC. The

incorrect use of, the
Uponor manual pressing
tool MLC.
Intended purpose
The Uponor manual
pressing tool MLC with
the corresponding
Uponor inserts MLC is
designed exclusively for
the connection (pressing)
of Uponor press fittings
and Uponor Unipipe MLC
pipes in dimensions of
14 mm up to 20 mm.
The Uponor manual
pressing tool MLC and
Uponor inserts MLC must
only be used if in full
working order, and with
no apparent damage. The
pressing tool must only
be used for the purposes
described in the
operating instructions.
Use only original spare
parts and pressing jaw
Uponor inserts MLC
supplied by Uponor.

Achtung:

MLC eingesetzt werden.
Nach dem Einsetzen
der beiden Uponor
Wechseleinsätze MLC
in die Uponor Hand-
presszange MLC sind die
Dimensionen anhand der
Beschriftung (Gravur z. B.
U 16) zu überprüfen!
Caution:
During Replacement!
Fit only Uponor inserts
MLC of a single size to
the Uponor manual
pressing tool MLC. Once
the two Uponor inserts
MLC have been fitted
to the Uponor manual
pressing tool MLC, check
the sizes marked on them
(e.g. U 16 engraved on
tool).

Die Uponor Hand-
presszange MLC durch
vollständiges Schließen
der beiden Zangenhe-
bel entriegeln.
Zangenkopf (1) mittels
Schwenkhebel (5)
öffnen.
Wechseleinsatz-Verrie-
gelung (2) drücken.
Uponor Wechselein-
satz MLC (6) in die
Backenaufnahme des
Zangenkopfes (1) mit-
tig mit leichtem Druck
einsetzen und Wechsel-
einsatz-Verriegelung
(2) loslassen.
Wechseleinsatz-Ver-
riegelung (2) muss
einrasten, sodass
Wechseleinsatz im Zan-
genkopf fest fixiert ist.
Arbeitsschritt für das
Einsetzen des zweiten
Uponor Wechseleinsat-
zes MLC wiederholen.
Prüfen, ob die beiden
Uponor Wechseleinsät-
ze MLC korrekt verras-
tet sind, d.h. mittig in
der Aufnahme sitzen.
Die Uponor Hand-
presszange MLC mit
den Uponor Wechsel-
einsätzen MLC einer
Dimension (siehe
Gravur auf den Uponor
Wechseleinsätzen MLC,
z. B. U 16) ist einsatz-
bereit.
Close both handles of
the Uponor manual
pressing tool MLC
completely to release
the mechanism.
Move the turning lever
(5) to open the head
of the tool (1).
Press the insert locking
mechanism (2).
Place the insert (6)
with small pressure in
the centre of the jaw
mounting on the head
of the tool (1) and
release the insert
locking mechanism (2).
The insert locking
mechanism (2) must
lock in place, indicat-
ing that the Uponor
insert MLC is correctly
fixed to the head of
the tool.
Repeat step 2 to insert
the second insert.
Verifying, if both
Uponor inserts MLC
are locked in place
correctly, i.e. located in
centre of the retainer.
The Uponor manual
pressing tool MLC with
the Uponor inserts
MLC of one dimen-
sion (see markings on
Uponor inserts MLC,
e.g. U 16) is now ready
for use.

Die Uponor Hand-
presszange MLC durch
vollständiges Schließen
der beiden Zangenhe-
bel entriegeln.
Zangenkopf (1) mittels
Schwenkhebel (5) öff-
nen und Pressbacken
(Uponor Wechselein-
sätze MLC) wie in der
Montageanleitung der
Uponor Unipipe MLC
Rohr beschrieben auf
den Uponor Pressfit-
ting positionieren.
Presswerkzeug mittels
Schwenkhebel (5)
minimal schließen
bis der Kraftaufwand
durch den Beginn der
Verpressung merklich
ansteigt (Zwangssperre
aktiviert).
Die beiden Zangen-
hebel vollständig
schließen bis die
Zwangssperre den
Schwenkhebel wieder
frei gibt.
Die Verpressung ist
damit beendet, die
Uponor Handpress-
zange MLC lässt sich
wieder öffnen.

sition the pressing jaws
(Uponor inserts MLC)
on the Uponor press
fitting as described in
the Uponor Unipipe
MLC pipe installation
instructions.
Move the turning
lever (5) to close the
pressing tool slightly,
until you can feel the
increase in pressure
that indicates the
start of the pressing
process (forced locking
activated).
Close both handles of
the tool completely,
and press until the
pressure on the locking
mechanism is reached
once more.
The pressing procedure
is now finished, and
the Uponor manual
pressing tool MLC can
be opened once more.

Achtung:
Verletzungsgefahr!
Die nach dem Pressvorgang auf-
tretenden Rückstellkräfte führen beim
plötzlichen Loslassen des Zangenhebels
zum ruckartigen Zurückfedern. Deshalb
muss die Uponor Handpresszange
MLC nach dem Pressvorgang durch
Festhalten beider Zangenhebel langsam
geöffnet werden.
Wichtig: Bei Beendigung des Press-
vorganges Finger bzw. Hände zwi-
schen den Zangenhebeln entfernen!
Caution:
Danger of injury!
The snap-back forces cause the
mechanism to spring back if the lever
of the tool is released suddenly. This is
why you should hold tightly onto both
levers of the Uponor manual pressing
tool MLC when the pressing
procedure is complete and open the
tool slowly.
Important: At finishing the press-
ing procedure, remove your fingers
and hands between the levers!

Ratschenprinzip) die
Zwangssperre öffnet.
Die Verpressung ist
beendet, die Uponor
Handpresszange MLC
lässt sich wieder
öffnen.
Presszange mittels
Schwenkhebel (5)
leicht öffnen bis dieser
in den nächsten Zahn
einrastet.
Die Uponor Hand-
presszange MLC erneut
mittels Schwenkhebel
(5) schließen.
Repeat the
procedure tooth by
tooth, as described in
B4, until the forced
locking mechanism is
opened after engag-
ing the final tooth
(the jaws work on the
ratchet principle).
The pressing procedure
is thus finished, and
the Uponor manual
pressing tool MLC can
be opened once more.
Move the turning lever
(5) slightly until the
pressing jaws open and
the next tooth can be
engaged easily.
Press the turning lever
(5) once more to close
the Uponor manual
pressing tool MLC.

Das vorzeitige Entrie-
geln der Uponor Hand-
presszange MLC darf
nur nach einer Fehlbe-
dienung (z.B. Uponor
Wechseleinsätze MLC
falsch auf Pressfitting
positioniert) erfolgen.
Schlitzschraube (7)
mittels geeignetem
Werkzeug (z. B.
Schlitz-Schraubendre-
her) nach links drehen.
Pressvorgang wird
somit abgebrochen, die
Zwangssperre deakti-
viert und die Uponor
Handpresszange MLC
lässt sich wieder öff-
nen.
C: Advance release of
the Uponor manual
pressing tool
The advance release
of the Uponor manual
pressing tool MLC
must only be used in
the event of incorrect
operation (e.g. Uponor
inserts MLC positioned
wrongly on the press
fitting).
Use a small screwdriver
to turn the slotted
screw (7) anti-clock-
wise.
This interrupts the
pressing procedure,
which deactivates
the forced locking
mechanism and allows
the Uponor manual
pressing tool MLC to
be opened once more.

Regelmäßige
Überprüfung:

Alle beweglichen Teile
und Gelenke regelmä-
ßig ölen
Sollten sich die Uponor
Handpresszange
MLC bzw. die beiden
Uponor Wechsel-
einsätze MLC bei
bestimmungsgemä-
ßem Gebrauch nicht
mehr an den Uponor
Wechseleinsätzen MLC
schließen, ist eine
werkseitige Anpassung
der Vorspannung erfor-
derlich.
Umgangs- und War-
tungshinweise Uponor
Handpresszange MLC:
Werkzeug nur gemäß
den gültigen UVV Be-
stimmungen verwen-
den.
Werkzeug nur für den
bestimmungsmäßigen
Gebrauch verwenden.
Werkzeug nur zum
Verpressen der Uponor
Fittings verwenden.
Werkzeug nicht werfen
und nicht mit Werk-
zeugen (Zange, Ham-
mer, etc.) bearbeiten.
Werkzeug nur mit den
von Uponor freigege-
benen Original-Wech-
seleinsätzen verwen-
den.
Werkzeug vor Verunrei-
nigungen (Staub,
Mörtel, Zement, etc.)
schützen bzw. bei
Verunreinigungen
schnellstmöglich
reinigen (Korrosionsge-
fahr).
Werkzeug nur trocken
und geschützt lagern
(z. B. im Uponor Werk-
zeugkoffer).
Werkzeug immer vor
Arbeitsbeginn
reinigen/überprüfen:
Das Werkzeug optisch
auf augenmerkliche
Beschädigungen
prüfen (z. B. Material-
bruch, Ausplatzungen
aus dem gehärteten
Material).
Beschädigte Press-
werkzeuge dürfen
nicht eingesetzt wer-
den.
Die Uponor Wechsel-
einsätze MLC auf die
verwendeten Dimensio-
nen überprüfen.
Die Uponor Wech-
seleinsätze MLC und
auch deren Aufnahme
müssen immer sauber
gehalten werden.
Regelmäßige Inspektion
und Wartung
WICHTIG! Die Uponor Handpress-
zange MLC und die Uponor Wechsel-
einsätze MLC sind nach ca. 10.000
Verpressungen, spätestens nach
2 Jahren durch den Uponor
Wartungsservice zu überprüfen.

Handling and main-
taining your Uponor
manual pressing tool
MLC:
Always use the tool
in accordance with
the relevant accident
prevention regulations.
Use the tool for its
intended purpose only.
Use the tool exclusively
for the pressing of
Uponor fittings.
Do not drop, throw or
hit the tool (with pli-
ers, hammer etc.).
Use only original
Uponor-approved
Uponor inserts MLC in
the tool.
Protect the tool from
impurities (such as
dust, mortar, cement,
etc.), and clean im-
mediately to prevent
corrosion damage.
Store the tool in a safe,
dry place (e.g. in the
Uponor tool case.
Always check and/or
clean the tool before
starting work:
Check the tool for
signs of visible damage
(e.g. cracked mate-
rial, protrusions in the
hardened material).
DO NOT use damaged
pressing tools.
Check the Uponor
inserts MLC to ensure
that they are of the
correct size.
Keep the Uponor
inserts MLC as well as
their retainers always
clean.
Carry out regular
checks:
(at maximum intervals of
four weeks):
Regularly oil all moving
parts and linkages.
If in case of conven-
tional use, the Uponor
manual pressing tool
MLC, resp. the both
Uponor inserts MLC
should not be closed
at the Uponor inserts
MLC, a factory-made
adjustment of the pre-
stressing is required.
Regular inspection
and maintenance
IMPORTANT! After 10.000 pressings
or after two years at the latest, the
Uponor manual pressing tool MLC
and the Uponor inserts MLC must be
checked by the Uponor maintenance
service.
