and should be discarded for your child’s safety.
NOTE: Please keep this user’s manual as it contains

Adult assembly required. For your child’s safety, do
not let your child play with the toy until it is fully
assembled.
Unlock the packaging locks:
Turn the packaging lock anti-clockwise
several times.
Pull out and discard the packaging lock.
Rotate the packaging lock anti-clockwise 90
degrees.
Pull out the packaging lock.
WARNING: For your child’s safety, only use the motorised
freight train on Toot-Toot Drivers®train tracks. Do
not roll the train on your clothing, body or hair while
the motorised train is turned on. If something gets
caught in the train’s wheels while the motor is on,
lift the train up so it is no longer touching your child
or slide the mode selector switch to the off position
to turn off the motor.

BATTERY INSTALLATION – FREIGHT TRAIN
1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover on the
rear cabinet of the train. Use a
screwdriver to loosen the screw.
3. Install three new AAA (AM-4/
LR03) batteries following the
diagram inside the battery box.
(The use of new alkaline batteries
is recommended for maximum
performance.)
4. Replace the battery cover by laying it flat against the battery slot
and tightening the screw to secure it.
BATTERY NOTICE
• UsenewalkalinebatteriesorfullychargedNI-MH(NickelMetal-
hydride) rechargeable batteries for best performance.
• Useonlybatteriesofthesameorequivalenttypeasrecommended.
• Donotmixdifferenttypesofbatteries:alkaline,standard(carbon-
zinc) or rechargeable (Ni-Cd, Ni-MH), or new and used batteries.
• Donotusedamagedbatteries.
• Insertbatterieswiththecorrectpolarity.
• Donotshort-circuitthebatteryterminals.
• Removeexhaustedbatteriesfromthetoy.
• Removebatteriesduringlongperiodsofnon-use.

• Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult
supervision.

Disposal of batteries and product
The crossed-out wheelie bin symbols on products and
batteries, or on their respective packaging, indicates they
must not be disposed of in domestic waste as they contain
substances that can be damaging to the environment
and human health.
The chemical symbols Hg, Cd or Pb, where marked,
indicate that the battery contains more than the specified
value of mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd) or lead (Pb) set out
inBatteryDirective(2006/66/EC).
The solid bar indicates that the product was placed on
the market after 13th August, 2005.

With the VTech®Toot-Toot Drivers®Gold Mine Train Set,
safety comes first. To ensure your child’s safety, adult assembly
isrequired.
1. Pinch the joint of the cargo car and insert it into the slot on freight
train.

2. Insert the GATE into the slot on the pillar.
3. Tilt the SMARTPOINTTM MOUNTAIN and insert the MOUNTAIN
STRAIGHT TRACK into the slot on the SMARTPOINTTM
MOUNTIAN as shown below.You will hear a “click” sound to indicate
that the track is securely attached.
4. Insert the L SNAP TRACK into the slot on the SMARTPOINTTM
MOUNTAIN tunnel as shown below.

5. Attach the RAMP SNAP TRACK to the L SNAP TRACK as shown
below.You will hear a “click” sound to indicate that they are attached
securely.
6. Insert the SUPPORT into the slot on the 90-DEGREE SNAP
TRACK. Then, attach the 90-DEGREE SNAP TRACK to the L
SNAP TRACK as shown below. You will hear a “click” sound to
indicate that they are attached securely.
7. Attach the other RAMP SNAP TRACK to the 90-DEGREE SNAP
TRACK. You will hear a “click” sound to indicate that they are
attached securely.

8. Insert the MINE SHAFT BASE into the bottom of the MINE SHAFT
as shown below.You will hear a “click” sound to indicate the pieces
are securely attached.
9. Insert the CROSS TRACK SIGN into the slot on the CROSS
TRACK SWITCH as shown below. You will hear a “click” sound to
indicate the signpost is securely attached.
10. After the above steps, connect these pieces to the included track
pieces. You can configure them into different arrangements.

EXPAND & EXPLORE
To expand the Gold Mine Train Set and inspire creativity,
connect to the Toot-Toot Drivers®Deluxe Train Track Set
play set(as shown below).
PRODUCT FEATURES – TRAIN
1.OFF/MOTOR SELECTOR SWITCH
To turn the train ON, slide the OFF/ MOTOR
SELECTOR SWITCH to the MOTOR
MODE ( ) or MANUAL PLAY
MODE ( ) position. To turn the train
OFF, slide the OFF/MOTOR SELECTOR
SWITCH to the OFF ( ) position.
2.AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
To preserve battery life, the included train will automatically
power-down after approximately 50 seconds without input
while the motor is off. The unit can only be turned on again
bypressingthelight-upbutton,pushingthetrainquickly
or triggering a SMARTPOINTTM location.

Note: This product is in try-me mode in the packaging.
After opening the package, turn the vehicle OFF
and ON again to proceed with normal play. If the unit
powers down while playing, we suggest changing the
batteries.
ACTIVITIES – FREIGHT TRAIN
1. Slide the OFF/MOTOR SELECTOR SWITCH
to turn the train ON. You will hear a song,
phrases and train sounds.The train will move
forward automatically when it’s in MOTOR
MODE.(Note:Thetrain’sfrontwheelneeds
to be on a firm surface in order to trigger the
motor.) The light will flash with the sounds.
2. In MOTOR MODE, the motor will stop automatically two seconds
after you remove the train from the tracks. The motor will restart
once the train is put back down.
3. In MANUAL MODE, push the train to hear fun sounds and melodies.
While a melody is playing, push the train again to add fun sounds
on top of the melody. The light will flash with the sounds.
4. Press the light-up button to hear train sounds,
phrases and songs. Press and hold the
light-up button to stop the motor in MOTOR
MODE. The motor will restart after the button
is released.The light will flash with the sounds.
5. While in MANUAL MODE, push the train over SMARTPOINTTM
locations included in the play set to hear fun sounds and phrases.
The light will flash with the sounds.
6. WhileinMOTOR MODE, let the train run through SMARTPOINTTM
locations included on the play set to hear fun sounds and phrases.
The light will flash with sounds.

7. While the motor is OFF, if there is no input for about 8 seconds, you
will hear a sound and phrase. After another 8 seconds of no input,
a song will play. If there is no input for an additional 8 seconds,
the unit will play a short tune and then go into sleep mode. While
the motor is running, you will hear train sounds, then the train will
enter sleep mode after 5 minutes of no input. The unit can only be
activatedbypressingthelight-upbutton,pushingthetrainquickly
or triggering a SMARTPOINTTM location.
8. In MANUAL MODE the train even interacts with other Toot-Toot
Drivers tracks®(sold separately).
ACTIVITIES – GOLD MINE TRAIN SET
1. Push the train or let the train run
through any of the seven Gold Mine
Train Set SmartPointTM locations to
trigger fun sounds, phrases and short
tunes.
2. Insert the SHAPE SORTER PIECES
into the mountain’s corresponding
shape sorter slots and watch as they
tumble down to the mountain base.

3. Run the train across the MOUNTAIN
STRAIGHT TRACK. Once the
train pushes through the GATE, it
will release the SHAPE SORTER
PIECES from the mountain and onto
the CARGO CAR.
4. Put any SmartPointTM vehicle (each
sold separately) on the SmartPointTM
CARGO CAR to get a lift.
5. Place a SHAPE SORTER PIECE
on top of the MINE SHAFT and tap
it through with the MINE HAMMER
for put-and-take fun!
CARE & MAINTENANCE
1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
2.
Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat
source.
3. Remove the batteries when the unit will not be in use for an extended
period of time.
4. Donotdroptheunitonhardsurfacesanddonotexposetheunit
to moisture or water.

TROUbLESHOOTING
If for some reason the unit stops working or malfunctions, please follow
thesesteps:
1. Please turn the unit OFF.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
3. Let the unit sit for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.
5. If the product still does not work, replace with an entire set of new
batteries.

without proof of purchase no replacement will be provided.
3. VTech Electronics Europe plc will examine the product and if it is found to be defective
due to faulty materials or workmanship, will replace the product at their discretion.
4. If the product covered by this warranty is damaged due to misuse, modification or
unauthorised repair, or because of faulty batteries, battery discharge or incorrect
electrical connections, then this warranty becomes void.
5. This warranty is personal to the original purchaser and is not transferable.
6. Breakages to the LCD screen are not covered by the warranty.
7. Returns to VTech Electronics Europe plc should include a cheque or postal order for
£1.50 towards the cost of return postage and packaging.
8. Products returned to VTech Electronics Europe plc, should be addressed as follows and
packed carefully to avoid damage in transit (Please do not include batteries or adaptor).
