2. Removing the transportation lock
The transportation locks F on the rear side have to be removed before using the appliance for the first time.
1. Remove the hexagon head screws Eof the transportation locks Fusing a 10 mm ring or open-
end wrench.
2. Push up and pull out the transportation lock.
3. Plug the holes with the rubber stoppers G.

3. Positioning the installation plate
Use the installation plate to install the appliance. It fixes the appliance in position, and is for use with both free-standing
appliances and appliances positioned in a niche.
The installation plates for the washing machine and tumble dryer are the same.
Raise the appliance slightly at the front and pull it forward, away from the installation plate.
At the site where the appliance is to be installed, fix the installation plate with 3 screws (using the screws supplied with the drain
hose set). If the floor is smooth and clean, the installation plate can be affixed using the double-sided adhesive tape K supplied.
Dampen the mounting slots on the installation plate with water.
Free-standing position
If a tumble dryer and a washing machine are positioned side by side, keep a distance of min. 5 mm between the installation
plates and to the walls.
In order to keep the distance to the wall, fold out the spacers Don the installation plate. This only applies if no plumbing fittings are to
be installed behind the washing machine.

4. Levelling
To ensure fault-free operation, the appliance must stand level with all 4 feet firmly on the ground and not wobble.

5. Plumbing in
Observe the regulations of the local water authorities.
Any old water supply and drain hoses must always be replaced with new hoses.
Water supply
•Only cold water G¾", possible pressure range 0.1–0.6 MPa (1–6 bar).
•The appliance must not be connected to a mixer tap or a continuous flow boiler!
The sealing surface of the tap must be clean and flat.
Install the hose without kinking or twisting it.

When installing the drain hose, prevent it from becoming damaged or buckling (hot suds discharge).
For all connection types, mount hose support.
If draining into the bath, sink, etc., use the hose support to fix the end of the hose.

6. Electrical connections
Electrical connections
Electrical connections must be carried out by qualified personnel in accordance with the guidelines and standards for low-
voltage installations and the specifications of the local electricity supply companies.
A plug-in appliance may only be connected to a socket outlet with earthing contact, installed according to specifications. An
all-pole mains isolating device with 3 mm contact opening should be provided in the house wiring system. Switches, plug
and socket devices, circuit breakers and fusible cut-outs which are accessible after installation and which have all-poles
switching are permissible as isolating devices. Effective earthing and separately installed neutral and earth conductors
ensure safe and fault-free operation. After installation, live parts and cables with basic insulation must not be accessible.
Check old installations.
The appliance is designed for use up to a max. altitude of 2000 m above sea level.
Refer to the identification plate for information on the required mains voltage, current type and fuse protection.
Do not cut off the plug.
Connection cable
The mains cable may only be replaced by the manufacturer, its Customer Services or a similarly qualified person.
Valid for all washing machines and tumble dryers in the Adora model range.
Valid for the SLQ (11006), SLQ WP (11004) und SL (11003) washing machine models assembled in Switzerland.

7. Initial set-up
Deliberately strong vibrations are produced during the stability check in order to test whether the appliance is firmly seated.
Model L (11001) (stability check)
Plug the appliance in at the mains or turn the wall switch on.
– The appliance switches on.
Remove the drum contents and then close the appliance door.
Turn the water tap on.
Depress the , and buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds.
– The spinning sequence is carried out.

Check the stability of the appliance. The appliance must stand level with all 4 feet firmly on the ground and not wobble. *
Press the button to complete the initial set-up.
– The spinning sequence is finished. The appliance is then drained.
If necessary, repeat levelling as explained under the section on levelling. The stability check, as described above, can be repeated
any number of times.
The appliance is ready for operation.
Models S (11002), SL (11003), SLQ WP (11004), SLQ (11006) (language setting / stability check / time and date)
Plug the appliance in at the mains or turn the wall switch on.
– The appliance switches on.
Remove the drum contents and then close the appliance door.
Turn on the water tap.
A display for the language setting appears.
Select the desired language and confirm with .
In the display appears: «Stability check» with the options and «abort».
Press to confirm and start the stability check.
– In the display appears: «Create unbalanced load, please wait…»
After about 2 minutes the following appears: «Check stability».
– Check the stability of the appliance. The appliance must stand level with all 4 feet firmly on the ground and not wobble. *
Press the button to complete the initial set-up of the appliance.
– In the display appears: «Create unbalanced load finishing…».
– The spinning sequence is finished. The appliance is then drained.
– The display goes dark.
* The user must carry out a visual and haptic assessment. There is no automatic detection and display by the appliance.
Applicable only to models S (11002), SL (11003)
To set the time and date, press any main programme button and follow the instructions.
If necessary, repeat levelling as explained under point 4. The stability check can be repeated any number of times.
