The optional Wall Switch Kit 1265WSK can be installed
to operate the fireplace. The kit includes the switch plate
and cover plate (available in white only) and a 26 feet
(8 m) long wiring harness. The wall switch allows to light
and turn the flame up or down but has no thermostat
or program features. The wall switch can be used in
conjunction with the thermostatic remote control.
All wiring associated with this kit is low voltage (6 volts).
Special considerations are required if ganging this
switch with other switches of different voltage. Consult
your electrician.

Installation & Operating Instructions
To be used only with Valor fireplaces
• Press ON-OFF button once to light
pilot. Press again to shut of pilot.
• Press and hold large flame
button to gradually increase
flame height.
• Press and hold small flame
button to gradually decrease
flame height.
The Wall Switch can be used to
control your fireplace. You can
turn the pilot on or off and you can
increase or decrease the flame
height.
Note that the thermostat and
programming functions are not
available with the wall switch.

CAUTION
DO NOT USE a screwdriver or
other metallic object to remove
the batteries from the receiver or
the handset! This could cause a
short circuit to the receiver.

To avoid short-circuit to the
receiver, position the antenna so
that it DOES NOT TOUCH the
ignition wire.

Installation
It is preferable to install the 1265WSK at the same time
as the fireplace. The kit is connected to the receiver in
the fireplace. The receiver is located near the control
valve under the burner module or on the left of the
firebox.
1. Decide where the switch is to be installed. Install
an electrical outlet box or mud ring as required (not
supplied).
2. Thread the switch wire through an access hole in
the appliance.

IMPORTANT: The connection
can only be done one way.
Do not force it or damage the
pins on the receiver box!
3. Pull out the receiver box. Remove the batteries from
the receiver box if it contains any. You can remove
the ignition wire to improve access to the receiver.
4. Take the switch wire and plug it into the receiver’s
connection slot as indicated (the other slot should
already be fitted with the valve’s wire harness
connector). See diagrams below.
IMPORTANT: The connection can only be done
one way. Do not force it or damage the pins!
5. On the outside of the fireplace, run the switch wire
into the outlet box. Use insulated type staples to
secure the wiring to framing.
6. Plug the wire into the switch plate and to the outlet
box.
7. Reconnect the ignition wire to the receiver if it was
previously removed.
IMPORTANT: Make sure the ignition wire DOES
NOT TOUCH the receiver’s antenna.
8. Insert 4 AAalkaline batteries in the receiver.
Replace the cover.
9. Test the operation of the wall switch—see page 1.
10. Fix the wall cover plate to the outlet box.
11. Replace the receiver in its position and as well as
the antenna if deployed.
IMPORTANT: The antenna MUST NOT TOUCH
the ignition wire.
CAUTION
DO NOT PUT BATTERIES IN THE REMOTE
CONTROL RECEIVER until the wires are connected
to the burner control unit as short-circuit could result
in the destruction of the electrical components.
CAUTION
Do not run the switch wire over the top of the
firebox. Route the wire so it does not contact the
firebox.

Le kit optionnel d’Interrupteur mural de contrôle
1265WSK peut être installé pour commander le
foyer. Le kit inclut la plaque d’interrupteur et la plaque
de couverture (offertes en blanc seulement) et un
harnais de connexion de 26 pieds (8 m) de longueur.
L’interrupteur mural permet d’allumer et d’éteindre le
foyer et de contrôler la hauteur des flammes mais n’a
pas de thermostat et ne peut être programmé. Il peut
être utilisé en conjonction avec la télécommande à
distance.
Tous les fils utilisés pour cette installation sont à basse
tension (6 volts). Des exigences particulières doivent
être respectées si cet interrupteur est jumelé à d’autres
interrupteurs ou dispositifs électriques. Consultez votre

Installation
Nous suggérons d’installer l’interrupteur mural
1265WSK en même temps que le foyer. Il se branche
au récepteur de la télécommande. Le récepteur is situé
près de la soupape sous le module du brûleur ou à
gauche de la boîte de foyer.
1. Décidez où sera situé l’interrupteur. Installez une
boîte de raccordement électrique ou un cercle de
finition (non fournis) à cet endroit.
2. Insérez le fil de l’interrupteur dans un des trous
d’accès de l’appareil.
IMPORTANT : Le connecteur ne
peut être branché que d’une façon.
Ne le forcez pas car il pourrait
endommager les fiches de contact
du récepteur!
3. Sortez le récepteur de sous le brûleur. Enlevez les
piles du récepteur si elles ont déjà été insérées.
Vous pouvez débrancher le fil d’allumage afin de
faciliter le maniement du récepteur.
4. Branchez le fil de l’interrupteur dans la connexion
libre du récepteur (l’autre connexion est occupée
par le harnais de la soupape). Voir les schémas
ci-dessous.
IMPORTANT : Le connecteur ne peut être
branché que d’une seule façon. Ne le forcez
pas!
5. De l’extérieur de l’appareil, acheminez le fil jusqu’à
la boîte de raccordement. Utilisez des crampons
isolés afin de fixer le filage à l’encastrement.
6. Branchez le fil à l’interrupteur et à la boîte de
raccordement.
7. Rebranchez le fil d’allumage s’il a été débranché.
IMPORTANT : Assurez-vous que le fil
d’allumage NE TOUCHE PAS l’antenne du
récepteur.
8. Insérez 4 piles alcalines AA dans le récepteur.
9. Vérifiez le fonctionnement de l’interrupteur—voir
page 4.
10. Fixez la plaque mural à la boîte de raccordement.
11. Replacez le récepteur de même que son antenne
si elle a été déplacée.
IMPORTANT : L’antenne NE DOIT PAS
TOUCHER le fil d’allumage.
MISE EN GARDE
N’UTILISEZ PAS de tournevis ou
objet métallique pour enlever les
piles du récepteur ou de la manette
afin d’éviter de court-circuiter la télé-
commande.
MISE EN GARDE
Afin d’éviter de court-circuiter le
récepteur, placez l’antenne de façon
à ce qu’elle NE TOUCHE PAS le fil
d’allumage.
MISE EN GARDE
Ne placez pas les piles dans le récepteur
de la télécommande jusqu’à ce que les fils
aient été branchés à la soupape. Un court-
circuit pourrait se produire et détruire les
composantes électriques.
MISE EN GARDE
Évitez de faire passer les fils au-dessus de
l’appareil ou de placer les fils de façon à ce
qu’ils le touchent.
