GETTING STARTED
Press OFF and high ame button
until you hear beeping.
Takes up to 20 seconds.
Press OFF and low ame button
to change display.
Press high and low ame
buttons until time 6:00 ashes.

7–DAY PILOT SHUTDOWN
If there is no activity after seven days, the
Valor SmartPilot System automatically shuts o
the pilot.

The seven day pilot shutdown is ideal if you happen
to be away from home for an extended period of
time or don’t need the heat during warmer Spring
and Summer months—you could save up to 5
months of unnecessary pilot consumption per year.
8–HOUR TURNDOWN
If your replace ame height hasn’t changed
and you haven’t used your remote for
eight hours, your ValorStat Remote Control
System automatically turns your replace
down to pilot.

and timer modes to maximize your heating

FAN + LIGHTING

SET TEMPERATURE
SET THE TEMPERATURE
You can set a warmer and a cooler
temperature twice in one day.
Click SET button until TEMP appears.
Press SET button until temperature
ashes.
To temperature, press
high ame button. To
temperature, press low ame button.
Click SET button so TEMP appears.
Press SET button until temperature
ashes.
Then, select temperature.
Press to save temperature settings,
or let remote automatically save the
setting after a few seconds.
To use temperature setting, make
sure TEMP mode is selected.
Click SET button to select

SET THE TIMER
You can program two heat cycles for di erent times in
the day. Both cycles, P1 and, have a start and
an end time. Cycles cannot overlap. Before you set
the timer, set the temperature.
Click SET button until TIMER appears.

BATTERIES FOR YOUR RECEIVER
When three seconds of rapid re beeps
sound, it’s time to replace your receiver
batteries.
Locate the battery holder under the
rebox near the controls.
Replace the batteries with
batteries.
Return holder to original location.
Reinstall any remaining parts removed.

BATTERIES IN REMOTE BATTERY
AND WALL SWITCH
If you have a remote battery and wall
switch, your receiver batteries are
conveniently located next to the wall
switch.
Pull o the FIREPLACE BATTERY
ACCESS plate next to the wall switch.
The plate is attached with magnets.
Do not pull the connector by the wire!
Replace the batteries with
orienting them as
indicated inside the holder.
Put the battery holder and cover
back in place.
If you don’t have a remote battery and
wall switch installed, see previous page.

Double-click the low ame button to go directly to
LO (lowest) ame setting.
Double-click the high ame button to go directly
to HI (highest) ame setting.
Only use alkaline batteries, such as
, with your remote or receiver.
When using the remote, the handset should be
within 15 feet (4½ metres) of the replace.
Don’t leave the handset on the mantel or hearth.
To keep out of children’s reach, use the wall holder.
Be patient when programming: it can take a few
seconds to set.
Once you turn a pilot o, it takes a few minutes
before your can turn it back on.
During extreme cold weather, leave your replace
running to avoid problems starting up.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Change the batteries in your remote
control. The battery usage icon on your
remote control screen will tell you if the
batteries are low or dead.
Switch to Duracell or Energizer alkaline
batteries. They work best with our
remote control systems.
Replace the remote’s receiver batteries
located in your replace or in your
remote battery and wall switch. Both
your remote and your remote’s receiver
require batteries.
Keep batteries fresh. Switch out your
receiver’s batteries once a year with
new or
batteries.
