1. Introduction

3. General Guidelines
Refer to the Velleman® Service and Quality Warranty on the last
pages of this manual.
Have the system installed by a qualified installer.
Respect the legislation in your region when installing an alarm
system. If necessary, refer to local authorities.
Protect this device from shocks and abuse. Avoid brute force when
operating the device.
Protected the device against extreme heat, dust and moisture.
Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually
using it.
All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons.
The device does not contain any user-serviceable parts except for
the battery.
Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the device in
an unauthorised way will void the warranty.

6. Battery
The detector comes with the battery already installed.
Low battery detection
The detector has a low battery detection system. Low battery
detection operates where the PIR has enough reserve energy to
typically operate for 1 month before complete exhaustion. A low
battery signal will be sent to the control panel along with regular
signal transmissions for the control panel to display the status
accordingly.
Replacing the battery
1. Put the control panel in configuration mode to avoid triggering
the tamper alarm (tamper alarm is not active in this mode).
2. Remove the screw at the bottom of the detector and separate
both parts.
3. Remove the battery.
4. Press the tamper switch twice to fully discharge before inserting
new batteries.
5. Insert a new battery (always use the correct battery type: see
Technical specifications). Make sure the polarity is correct.
6. Close the detector using the screw.
7. On the control panel, exit configuration mode.
WARNING
Do not puncture or throw batteries in fire as they might
explode.
Keep batteries away from children.

Power saving feature
The PIR goes to power save mode after about 1 minute to save
power.
After transmitting a detected movement, the PIR will not retransmit
for 1 minute; any movement detected during this period will extend
the power save time by another minute. This way; continuous
movement in front of a PIR will not unduly exhaust the battery
7. Setting PIR sensitivity
You can set the PIR’s detection sensitivity as follows:
To increase detection sensitivity, set the jumper to ON (factory
default).
To maintain the normal detection sensitivity, set the jumper to
OFF.
8. Find a suitable location
Follow all steps in this section to install the sensor.
Decide on the location of the PIR and if it is to be corner or surface
mounted. Take the following requirements and restrictions into
account when choosing a suitable location for the sensor.
Suitable location: recommendations
Mount the detector at a height of 1.9 m ~ 2 m for best
performance.
The PIR is designed to give a
typical detection range of 12
meters when mounted at 2
meters above the ground.
When mounted at 1.9 meters
above the ground, it gives a
typical pet immune range of 7
meters.
The higher the PIR is mounted
from the ground, the further its pet immune range will reach.
Sensor performance is affected by external factors such as height
of detected object, desired detection range, installation area, etc.
The suggested mounting height could be adjusted according to
actual installation environment factors.

When deciding on the height of the mounting site, remember to
take the possible blind spot into consideration. The blind spot
underneath the device enlarges proportionally to the height of the
mounting site.
Mount the sensor:
oIn a position such that an intruder would normally move across
the PIR’s field of view.
oIn a corner to give the widest view.
oWhere its field of view will not be obstructed e.g. by curtains,
ornaments etc.
oFor a small 3 to 5m room, install between 1.9 to 2m above
ground.
If you have pets, for the best performance of the sensor,
remember to adapt the mounting height of the sensor to the
height of the tallest animal.
Mount where the animals cannot come to the detection area by
climbing on furniture or other objects.
Don’t aim the detector at stairways the animals can climb on.
Suitable location: restrictions
Do not position a pir to look directly at a door protected by a door
contact. This could cause the door contact and pir radio signals to
be transmitted at the same instant when entering, cancelling each
other out.
Do not install the PIR completely exposed to direct sunlight.
Avoid installing the PIR in areas where devices may cause rapid
change of temperature in the detection area, i.e. air conditioner,
heaters, etc.
Avoid large obstacles in the detection area.
Do not point the sensor directly at heat sources , for example a
fireplace, boiler, and not above radiators.
Avoid pointing the sensor to an area with moving objects, for
example curtains, etc.
8.2 Set up connection between sensor and control panel
1. On first use, pull out the battery protection strip on the back.
oThe LED indicator steadily flashes for 30 seconds. (The PIR is
warming up).

oDuring the warming period, the PIR will not be activated. It is
recommended that you stay away from the detection area
during this period.
oAfter the warming period is over, the light will turn off and the
PIR will be ready for installation.
2. On the CTC1000 control panel, go to the Add Device menu
(see chapter Managing devices in the control panel manual).
3. On the sensor, press the test button (= the LED on the front).
4. Refer to the control panel user manual to complete the learn-in
process.
5. When done, put the control panel in walk test mode (see section
Walk test in chapter Configuration in the control panel manual).
6. Hold the PIR in the desired location and press the test button to
check whether the location is within range of the control panel.
7. When the sensor works at the location you chose, you can start
mounting the sensor.
8.3 Mounting
Depending on the location you have chosen (wall or corner):
Wall mounting
The base has two recesses where the plastic is thinner for mounting
purposes. To mount the sensor:
1. Remove the fixing screw and separate the two parts.
2. Break through the recesses on the back.
3. Using the holes as a template, drill holes in the wall.
4. Insert the wall plugs if fixing it into plaster or brick.
5. Attach the base onto the wall plugs using the included screws.
6. Attach the cover to the base.
Corner mounting
The corner bracket has two recesses where the plastic is thinner for
mounting purposes. To mount the sensor:
1. Break through the two recesses on the triangular bracket.
2. Using the two holes as a template, drill holes in the surface of
the corner
3. Insert the wall plugs.
4. Screw the bracket into the wall plugs with the two pointing
sticks on top.

5. Fit the PIR onto the hooks of the bracket.
If necessary, open the sensor.
9. Understanding the LED
In normal operation mode, the LED indicator will not light except in
the following situations:
When the PIR is in low battery condition, every time it transmits a
detected movement, the LED will flash for about 2 seconds.
When the cover is opened and the tamper switch is violated, the
LED will light up for 2 sec. to indicate it is transmitting the tamper
signal to the control panel.
When the tamper condition persists, the LED will light up every
time the sensor transmits a detected movement.
If the pir is in test mode, the LED will light up every time a
movement is detected.
10. Test mode
The sensor can be put into test mode by pressing the LED on the
front cover.
In test mode, the power saving is disabled and the LED indicator
will flash every time a movement is detected.
Every time you press the led on the front, the pir will transmit a
test signal to the control panel for radio range test and enter the
test mode for 3 minutes.
The sensor quits test mode automatically after 3 minutes and
returns to normal mode.

1. Inleiding
Aan alle ingezetenen van de Europese Unie
Belangrijke milieu-informatie betreffende dit product
Dit symbool op het toestel of de verpakking geeft aan
dat, als het na zijn levenscyclus wordt weggeworpen, dit
toestel schade kan toebrengen aan het milieu. Gooi dit
toestel (en eventuele batterijen) niet bij het gewone
huishoudelijke afval; het moet bij een gespecialiseerd
bedrijf terechtkomen voor recyclage. U moet dit toestel
naar uw verdeler of naar een lokaal recyclagepunt

2. Veiligheidsinstructies

Gebruik het toestel enkel binnenshuis.

richtlijnen in deze handleiding en uw dealer zal de

3. Algemene richtlijnen
Raadpleeg de Velleman® service- en kwaliteitsgarantie
achteraan deze handleiding.
Laat het systeem installeren door een gekwalificeerde installateur.
Respecteer de plaatselijke wetgeving bij het installeren van een
alarmsysteem. Neem eventueel contact op met de plaatselijke
autoriteiten.
Bescherm het toestel tegen schokken. Vermijd brute kracht
tijdens de bediening van het toestel.
Bescherm het toestel tegen extreme hitte, stof en vochtigheid.
Leer eerst de functies van het toestel kennen voor u het gaat
gebruiken.
Om veiligheidsredenen mag u geen wijzigingen aanbrengen aan
het toestel.
Er zijn geen door de gebruiker vervangbare onderdelen in dit
toestel, behalve de batterij.
Gebruik het toestel enkel waarvoor het gemaakt is. De garantie
vervalt automatisch bij ongeoorloofd gebruik.
4. Eigenschappen

De detector functioneert met batterijen (reeds geplaatst).
Legebatterij-indicator
De detector is uitgerust met legebatterijdetectie. De
legebatterijdetectie werkt zolang het toestel voldoende energie voor
1 maand heeft. Een legebatterijsignaal zal naar het controlepaneel
worden verzonden samen met het normale verzendsignaal. De
overeenkomstige batterijstatus wordt op het controlepaneel
weergegeven.
De batterij vervangen
1. Zet het controlepaneel in configuratiemodus om te beletten dat
het sabotagealarm getriggerd wordt (sabotagealarm is niet
actief in deze modus).
2. Verwijder de schroef aan de onderkant van de detector en haal
de delen uit elkaar.
3. Verwijder de batterij.
4. Druk tweemaal op de sabotageschakelaar wanneer u een batterij
vervangt. Zo wordt het toestel volledig ontladen.
5. Plaats een nieuwe batterij (gebruik altijd het juiste type
batterijen: zie Technische specificaties). Controleer of de
polariteit correct is.
6. Sluit het batterijvak van de detector met de schroef.
7. Op het controlepaneel, verlaat de configuratiemodus.
WAARSCHUWING
U mag batterijen nooit doorboren of in het vuur gooien
(explosiegevaar).
Houd batterijen uit het bereik van kinderen.

Energiebesparende functie
Na 1 minuut gaat de PIR-detector over in energiebesparende modus
om energie te besparen.
Na het doorsturen van een gedetecteerde beweging, zal de PIR-
detector geen signaal meer sturen gedurende 1 minuut; bij elke
beweging die gedurende deze tijd wordt gedetecteerd, wordt de
standby-tijd verlengd met 1 minuut. Hierdoor zullen voordurende
bewegingen in het detectiegebied van een PIR-detector de batterij
niet uitputten.
7. De PIR-gevoeligheid instellen
Stel de gevoeligheid van de PIR-bewegingsdetector in als volgt:
Om de detectiegevoeligheid te verhogen, zet de jumper op ON
(standaardinstelling).
Voor een normale detectiegevoeligheid, zet de jumper op OFF.
8. Een geschikte montageplaats kiezen
Volg de onderstaande stappen om de detector te installeren.
Bepaal de montageplaats van de PIR-detector en of u kiest voor
wand- of hoekmontage. Houd rekening met de volgende
voorwaarden en beperkingen bij het kiezen van een geschikte
installatieplaats voor de detector.
Geschikte installatieplaats:

Installeer de detector op een
hoogte van 1.9 m ~ 2 m voor
de beste prestaties.
De PIR-detector heeft een
typisch detectiebereik van 12
meter wanneer u deze 2 meter
boven de grond installeert.
Bij een installatie op een hoogte van 1.9 meter boven de grond,
dan heeft de detector een bereik van 7 meter dat ongevoelig voor
huisdieren is.
Het ongevoeligheidsbereik voor huisdieren wordt groter naarmate
u de detector hoger monteert.

Externe factoren kunnen het sensorvermogen beïnvloeden zoals
de hoogte van een gedetecteerd voorwerp, gewenste
detectiebereik, installatieplaats, enz. De aanbevolen
montagehoogte kan worden aangepast rekening houdend met de
huidige omgevingsfactoren.
Houd rekening met een mogelijke dode hoek bij het kiezen van de
montageplaats. De dode hoek aan de onderkant van het toestel
vergroot evenredig met de hoogte van de montageplaats.
Installeer de detector:
oZodanig dat de verwachte bewegingen van een indringer
binnen het detectiegebied vallen.
oIn een hoek, voor een maximaal detectiebereik.
oVoorkom dat objecten, zoals gordijnen of decoratie het
detectieveld van de bewegingsdetector belemmeren.
oInstalleer op een hoogte van 1.9 tot 2 m boven de grond voor
kleine ruimtes van 3 tot 5 m.
Als u huisdieren heeft, stel de hoogte in volgens de hoogte van
het grootste huisdier. Dit garandeert een optimale werking van de
sensor.
Installeer op een plaats waar de dieren niet binnen het
detectieveld kunnen komen door op meubilair of andere
voorwerpen te klimmen.
Richt de detector niet op trappen waar dieren op kunnen klimmen.
Geschikte installatieplaats: beperkingen
Richt de PIR-detector niet op deuren die ook beveiligd zijn met
deurcontacten. Dit zou ervoor kunnen zorgen dat de signalen
elkaar uitschakelen.
Plaats de PIR-detector niet in direct zonlicht.
Vermijd installatie van de PIR-detector in ruimtes waar toestellen
snelle temperatuurschommelingen kunnen veroorzaken in het
detectieveld, zoals airconditioners, radiators, enz.
Vermijd grote obstakels in het detectieveld.
Richt de detector niet rechtstreeks op hittebronnen, zoals een
haardvuur, boiler of radiators.
Vermijd bewegende voorwerpen in het detectieveld, zoals
gordijnen, enz.

8.2 Verbind de detector met het controlepaneel
1. Verwijder bij het eerste gebruik het strookje dat de batterij
beveiligt (aan de achterkant van het toestel).
oDe led knippert constant gedurende 30 seconden. (De PIR
warmt op).
oTijdens het opwarmen, wordt de PIR niet geactiveerd. Het is
aan te raden dat u buiten het detectieveld blijft tijdens het
opwarmen.
oNadat de PIR opgewarmd is, gaat de led uit en is de PIR klaar
voor gebruik.
2. Op het CTC1000 controlepaneel, ga naar het menu "Add Device"
(zie hoofdstuk "Apparaten beheren" in de handleiding van het
controlepaneel).
3. Op de detector, druk op de testknop (= led aan de voorkant).
4. Raadpleeg de gebruikershandleiding van het controlepaneel om
het leerproces te voltooien.
5. Wanneer klaar, zet het controlepaneel in "Walk Test"-modus (zie
"Walk test" in hoofdstuk "Configuratie" van de handleiding
controlepaneel).
6. Houd de PIR-detector op de gewenste plaats en druk op de
testknop om te controleren of deze zich binnen het bereik van
het controlepaneel bevindt.
7. Wanneer de detector functioneert, kunt u deze installeren.
8.3 Montage
Afhankelijk van de gekozen montageplaats (wand of hoek):
Wandmontage
De basis is voorzien van twee uitsparingen waar het plastic dunner is
voor montage. Om de detector te monteren:
1. Verwijder de bevestigingsschroef en scheid de twee delen.
2. Doorprik de uitsparingen aan de achterkant.
3. Gebruik de gaten als sjabloon, boor gaten in de muur.
4. Plaats de pluggen bij het bevestigen aan een gipswand of
bakstenen muur.
5. Monteer de basis op de pluggen met de meegeleverde
schroeven.
6. Bevestig het deksel aan de basis.

Hoekmontage
De hoekbeugel is voorzien van twee uitsparingen waar het plastic
dunner is voor montage. Om de detector te monteren:
1. Doorprik de twee uitsparingen op de driehoekige beugel.
2. Gebruik de twee gaten als sjabloon, boor gaten in het
montageoppervlak.
3. Plaats de pluggen.
4. Schroef de beugel in de pluggen met de twee uitsteeksels aan
de bovenkant.
5. Schuif de PIR-detector op de haken van de montagebeugel.
Open de behuizing van de detector indien nodig.
9. De led
In normale werkingsmodus zal de led niet oplichten, behalve in de
volgende situaties:
Wanneer de batterij van de PIR-detector bijna leeg is, zal de led
gedurende 2 minuten seconden knipperen telkens er een
gedetecteerde beweging wordt doorgestuurd.
Wanneer de behuizing geopend wordt en met de
sabotageschakelaar geknoeid wordt, zal de led gedurende 2
seconden oplichten om aan te geven dat het toestel een
sabotagesignaal naar het controlepaneel aan het versturen is.
Wanneer deze toestand blijft aanhouden, zal de led oplichten
telkens de melder een gedetecteerde beweging doorstuurt.
Wanneer de PIR-detector in testmodus staat, zal de led oplichten
telkens er een beweging gedetecteerd wordt.
10. Testmodus
U kunt de detector in testmodus zetten door de led in te drukken
op het frontpaneel.
In testmodus is de energiebesparende functie gedeactiveerd en
knippert de led bij het detecteren van een beweging.
Telkens u de led op het frontpaneel indrukt, zal de PIR-detector
een testsignaal naar het controlepaneel sturen om het radiobereik
te testen en in testmodus overgaan gedurende 3 minuten.
Na 3 minuten, verlaat de detector de testmodus automatisch en
keert het toestel terug naar de normale werkingsmodus.

Ce symbole sur l'appareil ou l'emballage indique que
l’élimination d’un appareil en fin de vie peut polluer
l'environnement. Ne pas jeter un appareil électrique ou
électronique (et des piles éventuelles) parmi les déchets
municipaux non sujets au tri sélectif ; une déchèterie
traitera l’appareil en question. Renvoyer les équipements
usagés à votre fournisseur ou à un service de recyclage
local. Il convient de respecter la réglementation locale relative à la
protection de l’environnement.
En cas de questions, contacter les autorités locales pour
élimination.

2. Consignes de sécurité
Garder l'appareil hors de la portée des enfants et des
personnes non autorisées.
Utiliser cet appareil uniquement à l'intérieur.
Protéger de la pluie, de l’humidité et des projections
d’eau.
La garantie ne s’applique pas aux dommages survenus en
négligeant certaines directives de cette notice et votre revendeur
déclinera toute responsabilité pour les problèmes et les défauts
qui en résultent.
Protéger des projections d’eau.
Les dommages occasionnés par des modifications par le client ne
tombent pas sous la garantie.
Ce système peut offrir une protection valable à votre maison et
propriété si on l'utilise correctement. Néanmoins, il ne peut pas

vous garantir une protection complète contre le cambriolage et le
vol. Toutefois, Velleman SA ne peut être tenu responsable pour
des pertes ou endommagements qui pourraient être occasionnés.
3. Directives générales
Se référer à la garantie de service et de qualité Velleman® en
fin de notice.
Confier l'installation du système à un installateur qualifié.
Respecter la législation en vigueur dans votre région lors de
l'installation d'un système d'alarme. Se renseigner auprès des
administrations locales si nécessaire.
Protéger l’appareil des chocs. Éviter de secouer l’appareil pendant
l’opération.
Protéger l'appareil contre la chaleur extrême, la poussière et
l'humidité.
Se familiariser avec le fonctionnement avant l’emploi.
Il est interdit de modifier l'appareil pour des raisons de sécurité.
L'appareil ne contient aucune pièce réparable par l'utilisateur sauf
la pile.
N’utiliser l'appareil qu’à sa fonction prévue. Un usage interdit peut
annule d'office la garantie.
