1. Introduction
To all residents of the European Union

This symbol on the device or the package indicates that disposal of the
device after its lifecycle could harm the environment.

should be taken to a specialized company for recycling.
This device should be returned to your distributor or to a local recycling

bringing this device into service. If the device was damaged in transit, don't install
or use it and contact your dealer.
The solar charge regulator SOL10UC is designed to regulate battery charging by
the solar panel, and power draw from the battery by the output. This keeps the
whole solar system at proper working conditions.
2. Safety Instructions
For indoor use only. Keep this device and cabling away from rain,
moisture, splashing and dripping liquids.
Keep the device away from children and unauthorised users.
There are no user-serviceable parts inside the device.
Refer to an authorized dealer for service and/or spare parts.
Risk of electroshock during installation.
Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered
by the warranty and the dealer will not accept responsibility for any ensuing
defects or problems.
Note that damage caused by user modifications to the device is not covered by
the warranty.
3. General Guidelines
Refer to the Velleman® Service and Quality Warranty on the last pages of this
manual.
Protect this device from shocks and abuse. Avoid brute force when operating.
Protected the device against extreme heat, dust and moisture.
Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually using it.
All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons.
Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the device in an
unauthorised way will void the warranty.

5. Installation
Place the regulator in a dry location. Make sure the switch [6] is in the off-
position.
First connect a 12V rechargeable battery (not included) to connector [9]. Use
the correct polarity!
Then connect a device or appliance (not included) to connector [4], [7] or
[8], or an AC converter to connector [5]. Make sure the connected load is in
accordance with the specifications of this regulator and switched off.
Note: the power from connector [5] comes straight from the battery and is not
regulated by the regulator.
Finally connect a solar panel (not included) to connector [11]. Make sure the
connected solar panel is in accordance with the specifications of this regulator.
Use the correct polarity!
Verify whether all connections are tight and secure.
Do not short circuit or reverse polarity of battery, solar panel or
load, as this will lead to irreversible damage.
To disconnect the regulator, first switch it off, and then disconnect the solar
panel, the load and finally the battery.
Note that short connection wires will reduce power losses.
6. Use
Switch on the regulator with switch [6].
The digital voltage meter [2] shows the current battery voltage. It can be
switched off to save electricity. To switch it on or off, push the digital voltage
meter on/off switch [3].
When LED [1]lights up, the regulator is in over-discharge protection mode.
This will be the case when the battery voltage drops below 11±0.5VDC. The
power to the output connectors [5, 7, 8] is cut off to prevent damage to the
battery. Remove the load from the connector and wait until the battery is fully
recharged.
When the battery voltage is above 14.5±0.5VDC, the regulator goes in over-
charge protection mode. The power from the solar panel input connector

[11] is cut off to prevent damage to the battery until the voltage drops below
13.5VDC.
Over-load protection mode: when the output voltage is beyond limits, the
fuse [10] on the back of the regulator melts to prevent damage to the
regulator. To re-use the regulator, the fuse needs to be replaced by a new one
with the same specifications.
Reverse polarity protection: in order to prevent possible damage the
regulator will not function when reversed connecting polarity is detected.
Correct the polarity to use the regulator.

De SOL10UC is een laadregelaar voor zonnepanelen en zorgt ervoor dat de
stroom naar en van de batterij optimaal geregeld wordt. Deze laadregelaar wordt
best gebruikt met een van onze zonnepanelen.
2. Veiligheidsinstructies
Enkel voor gebruik binnenshuis. Bescherm dit toestel tegen regen,
vochtigheid, opspattende en druppelende vloeistoffen.
Houd dit toestel uit de buurt van kinderen en onbevoegden.
De gebruiker mag geen onderdelen vervangen. Bestel eventuele
reserveonderdelen bij uw dealer.
Elektrocutiegevaar tijdens de installatie.
De garantie geldt niet voor schade door het negeren van bepaalde richtlijnen in
deze handleiding en uw dealer zal de verantwoordelijkheid afwijzen voor
defecten of problemen die hier rechtstreeks verband mee houden.
Schade door wijzigingen die de gebruiker heeft aangebracht aan het toestel
vallen niet onder de garantie.
3. Algemene richtlijnen
Raadpleeg de Velleman®service- en kwaliteitsgarantie achteraan deze
handleiding.
Bescherm dit toestel tegen schokken. Vermijd brute kracht tijdens de bediening
van dit toestel.
Bescherm dit toestel tegen extreme temperaturen, stof en vochtigheid.
Leer eerst de functies van het toestel kennen voor u het gaat gebruiken.
Om veiligheidsredenen mag de gebruiker geen wijzigingen aanbrengen aan het
toestel.
Gebruik het toestel enkel waarvoor het gemaakt is. Bij onoordeelkundig gebruik
vervalt de garantie.

5. Installatie
Monteer de regelaar op een droge locatie. Plaats de aan-uitschakelaar [6] op
‘off’.
Koppel een herlaadbare batterij van 12 V (niet meegeleverd) aan aansluiting
[9]. Respecteer de polariteit.
Koppel een toestel (niet meegeleverd) aan aansluiting [4]. [7] of [8], of
koppel een spanningsomvormer aan uitgang [5].
Opmerking: De stroom afkomstig van aansluiting [5] komt rechtstreeks van de
batterij en wordt niet door de regelaar geregeld.
Koppel tot slot het zonnepaneel (niet meegeleverd) aan aansluiting [11].
Zorg ervoor dat het gebruikte zonnepaneel compatibel met deze regelaar is.
Respecteer de polariteit bij het aansluiten.
Veroorzaak geen kortsluiting en respecteer de polariteit van de
batterij, het zonnepaneel en de last om onherroepelijke schade te
vermijden.
Ontkoppelen van de regelaar: plaats de aan-uitschakelaar op ‘off’ en ontkoppel
het zonnepaneel, de last en pas dan de batterij.
Houd de aansluitingen zo kort mogelijk om verlies tegen te gaan.
6. Gebruik
Schakel de regelaar in met schakelaar [6].
De digitale spanningsmeter [2] geeft het huidige batterijniveau aan. Schakel de
meter uit met schakelaar [3] om energie te besparen.
Indien de spanning onder 11 VDC ± 0,5 VDC valt, dan schakelt de regelaar
over naar overontlaadbeveiliging en zal led [1] oplichten. De stroom naar de
last [5, 7, 8] wordt afgesloten om beschadiging aan de batterij te vermijden.
Ontkoppel de last van de uitgang en wacht tot de batterij opnieuw volledig
geladen is.
Indien de spanning 14,5 VDC ± 0,5 VDC overschrijdt, dan schakelt de regelaar
over naar overlaadbeveiliging. De stroom afkomstig van het zonnepaneel
[11] wordt afgesloten om beschadiging aan de batterij te vermijden tot de
spanning opnieuw 13,5 VDC bedraagt.
Beveiliging overbelasting: Bij overbelasting smelt de zekering [10]
achteraan het toestel. Vervang de zekerring door een identiek exemplaar.
Beveiliging tegen omgekeerde polariteit: De regelaar schakelt niet in
indien er een verkeerde polariteit in het circuit is.

batterie protégeant ainsi tout le système photovoltaïque. Ce régulateur s’accorde
particulièrement avec nos panneaux solaires.

de l’humidité, des éclaboussures et des jaillissements.
Garder le thermomètre hors de la portée de personnes non qualifiées et

5. Installation
Monter le régulateur dans un endroit sec. placer l’interrupteur [6] en position
« off ».
Raccorder une batterie rechargeable 12 V (non incl.) au connecteur [9].
Respecter la polarité.
Raccorder un appareil (non incl.) au connecteur [4], [7] ou [8], ou un
convertisseur au connecteur [5]. S’assurer que la charge connectée est
compatible avec le régulateur.
Remarque : Le courant provenant du connecteur [5] est un courant direct de la
batterie est n’est pas régulé par le régulateur.

Raccorder le panneau solaire (non incl.) au connecteur [11]. S’assurer que le
panneau solaire connecté est compatible avec le régulateur. Respecter la
polarité.
Ne jamais court-circuiter ou inverser la polarité de la batterie, du
panneau ou de la charge afin d’éviter les endommagements
irrévocables.
Déconnexion du régulateur : éteindre d’abord le régulateur, et déconnecter le
panneau solaire, la charge et enfin la batterie.
Utiliser des connexions courtes afin de réduire les pertes de courant.
6. Emploi
Allumer le régulateur à l’aide de l’interrupteur [6].
Le voltmètre [2] affiche la tension de la batterie. Désactiver le voltmètre à
l’aide de l’interrupteur [3] afin d’économiser de l’énergie.
La DEL [1] s’allume lorsque le régulateur est en mode de protection de
décharge excessive. La batterie affiche alors une charge inférieure à 11 ±
0,5VCC. Le courant vers la charge [5, 7, 8] est coupé afin d’éviter les
endommagements à la batterie. Déconnecter la charge du connecteur et
patienter jusqu’à ce que la batterie soit entièrement rechargée.
Le régulateur commute en mode de protection de surcharge lorsque la
tension de la batterie excède 14,5 ± 0,5 VCC. Le courant provenant du
panneau solaire [11] est coupé jusqu’à ce que la tension diminue en-dessous
de 13,5 VCC, ceci afin d’éviter les endommagements à la batterie. Déconnecter
le panneau du régulateur.
Protection de surcharge : Le fusible [10] fond lors d’une surcharge afin
d’éviter les endommagements au régulateur. Remplacer ce fusible par un
exemplaire identique.
Protection polarité inversée : Le régulateur ne s’allume pas en cas de
polarité inversée.
