Thank you for purchasing this VH Suction Pump Tabletop Aspirator. Please read this
instruction manual completely before using your unit to ensure safe and effective use, as
well as long life of the product.
Federal law allows suction pumps to be sold by a physician’s prescription only. These
devices should be used only at the direction of a doctor or healthcare professional and
should be used only as intended and described in this manual.
INTRODUCTION
Improper care or use of your suction pump may result in injury, damage to the unit or
ineffective treatment. Following these instructions will ensure the suction pump’s efficacy and
long life.
• Never allow the suction pump to be used without adult supervision.
• Do not use the suction pump for anything except patient treatment as directed by a
physician. Do not use the suction pump in a manner inconsistent with these instructions.
• The suction pump is an electronic device, keep away from water to avoid electrical shock.
Do not immerse the unit in liquid and do not use while bathing. If the unit should fall into
water, do not reach for it without rst unplugging the unit.
• Do not use while driving.
• Unplug the unit before cleaning it and after each use. Do not leave the unit plugged in
when not in use.
• Use only the included power cord(s).
• Always ensure that the air vents are not blocked or obstructed in any way.
• Dropping the suction pump or causing other heavy impact may damage the unit and
affect proper operation.
• Do not expose the unit to direct sunlight, humid environments, extreme temperatures,
strong static electricity or electromagnetic waves.
• If the suction pump is not functioning correctly, if it makes unusual sounds, or if during
use the patient experiences pain or discomfort, immediately stop use.
• The patient tubing and catheter should be cleaned daily and replaced monthly during
regular use or at the prescribing physician’s instructions.
• Do not use the unit if it has been dropped to the ground, exposed to extreme
temperatures or high humidity, or damaged in any way.
• Do not disassemble the suction pump or attempt to repair it.

3. Attach the tubing/lter set to the suction pump body, then securely attach the 6’length
patient tubing to the port on the collection canister lid.
Before the rst use of the suction pump if the unit has not been used for an extended period
of time, it should be cleaned thoroughly as described in the Cleaning and Disinfection section of
this manual.
Assemble the tubing and lter set:
• Firmly push the 6”tubing onto each end of the lter. The tubing
should t tightly onto the lter. If the tubing is not snug, then the
set should be replaced.
• Tubing/lter set should be left unassembled when not in use to
prevent any moisture build up in the tube or lter.
Assemble the collection jar and suction pump:
1. Replace the lid on the collection canister. The jar lid will not lock or fasten to the canister
but should t snugly and securely; take care when transporting liquid.

The Suction Pump Tabletop Aspirator System is offered with
two power option models — 2 piece DC Power Adapter; model
11-110 is rechargeable and includes an auto adapter.
Use common sense electric device caution when operating this
unit. Always turn offthe power and unplug the device before
cleaning or if the unit is not working properly.
• The included power cord should be plugged into the back
of the suction pump unit.
• Always unplug the power cord from the wall and unit when
the suction pump is not in use.
Rechargeable DC Power (11-110)
• This unit can operate by the internal rechargeable battery or under AC power.
• The included 2-piece power cord can be plugged into the unit for use or to charge the
device. The auto-adapter is intended for charging the internal battery on the go; do not
use this product while driving.
• Assemble the power cord and plug it into the unit prior to
plugging into a standard wall socket. Operating the unit while
plugged into a wall socket will not affect the charged battery
life remaining on the internal battery.
• Charge time from expired battery: 8 hours
• Charged battery life: 60 minutes at normal use; 50 minutes at
maximum vacuum ow
Always inspect the tubing and mouthpiece (not included) for cracks or wear prior to use and
replace as necessary.
Patient use:
1. Place the suction unit on a at, stable surface
within operating range of the patient and an
electrical outlet. Ensure that the air vents on the
side of the unit housing are not blocked or
obstructed.
2. Plug the power cord into the electrical outlet.
3. Press the power switch to turn the unit on and
activate the suction operation.
4. Verify the suction unit is at the desired suction level prior to patient suction by turning the
adjustment knob until the required level is reached. The prescribing physician can advise
and explain what level is necessary for the specic patient’s care.
NOTE: This device does not include the patient catheter (commonly called suction tip or
pipette) as this piece is meant to be replaced frequently. Consult your physician for advice
and information on obtaining the patient catheter.
5. When complete, turn the unit offand unplug it from the outlet if it will not be used again
for a period of time.
6. Dispose of the contents following the directions of the prescribing physician.
7. Follow the Cleaning and Disinfection directions as advised in this manual.

CLEANING AND DISINFECTION
Disinfection at the End of Day / Treatment Period:
The suction pump should be disinfected once daily, after the last use of the day, unless a
different disinfection regimen is specied by a healthcare professional. Disinfect the suction
pump as follows:
1. Ensure that the power cord is disconnected from the power outlet.
2. Disconnect the air tube, lter, tube set and mouthpiece (not included). Remove the
collection canister and dispose of its contents. Do not wash or submerge the suction pump
body.
3. Wash all parts in hot water, using a mild, non-abrasive detergent.
4. Submerge all parts in a solution of one part white vinegar and three parts distilled water
for a minimum of 30 minutes.
5. Rinse all pieces thoroughly with water.
6. Allow all pieces to air dry completely, or dry them thoroughly with a clean, soft towel. Do
not store any parts wet as remaining moisture creates a risk of bacterial growth.
CLEANING AND DISINFECTION
The patient tubing and mouthpiece (not included) should be thoroughly cleaned after each
use and disinfected each day when being used frequently unless a different cleaning regimen
is specied by your healthcare professional; additional hygienic precautions may be required
for use with high-risk patients. Always follow the direction of your healthcare provider.
Cleaning After Each Use:
1. Ensure that the power cord is disconnected from the power outlet.
2. Disconnect the air tube, lter, tube set and mouthpiece (not included). Remove the
collection canister and dispose of its contents. Do not wash or submerge the suction pump
body.
3. Wash and rinse all pieces in hot water, using a mild, non-abrasive detergent.
4. Allow all pieces to air dry completely, or dry them thoroughly with a clean, soft towel. Do
not store any parts wet as remaining moisture creates a risk of bacterial growth.
5. Occasionally wipe the body of the unit with a damp cloth and allow it to air dry. Only clean
the body of the unit when it is unplugged and completely cool.
Never use soap pads or powder cleanser to clean any part of the unit. Never use any cleaning
products that may be harmful when swallowed or inhaled.
It is recommended that air lter and tubing and collection canister be replaced
regularly depending on the frequency of therapy treatments or when damaged,
cracked or holes appear in the tubing. To order replacement parts, use the included order
form, call Customer Care at 866-326-1313 or contact your local dealer.

TROUBLESHOOTING
The unit will not turn on.
Check all power connections and ensure the cord is rmly plugged into the unit and wall
socket. Allow the rechargeable unit sufficient time to recharge or operate with the power cord
plugged into the wall socket.
The motor is running, but there is no vacuum pressure.
Check that the tube connections are secure and that there are no leaks or cracks in the tubing.
Increase the vacuum level with the pressure adjustment dial.

CHANGING THE AIR FILTER
• Never operate the unit without a lter.
• Under regular use, replace the lter monthly, or sooner if it turns gray, appears
contaminated is blocked or becomes wet.
• Use only Veridian Healthcare lters; additional lters are available for order using the
included order form, calling Customer Care at 866-326-1313 or contacting your local
dealer.
• Do not substitute cotton or any other materials for the lters.
• Do not attempt to clean the lters or reuse a lter.
To replace the lter, follow these steps:
1. Change the lter only when the unit is off,
unplugged and completely cool.
2. Gently pull the lter cap out of the
compressor.
3. Remove the lter from the lter cap.
4. Place a new lter in the lter cap.
5. Return the lter cap to its place, ensuring
that it is rmly in place.

Suction Pump Aspiration is intended for use as prescribed by physician for an individual patient in
medical applications only.
Use common sense electrical caution when operating the device. The VH Suction PumpTabletop
Aspirator System runs on AC power or DC rechargeable battery. Always turn offthe power and
unplug the device before cleaning or if the unit is not working properly.
Never attempt to disassemble the device or service a non-working device. Contact Veridian
Healthcare Customer Care department at 866-326-1313 for assistance in warranty repair and
service on your unit.

2-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
Veridian Healthcare guarantees that its VH Suction Pump Tabletop Aspirator System will be
free from manufacturing defects under normal use for a period of two-years.This warranty
covers only normal use, and does not apply to use in any clinical or commercial applications.
This warranty is applicable to the suction pump unit and motor and does not cover batteries
or other power sources that may be provided with or used with the suction pump unit or the
collection canister. This warranty is voided if the suction pump unit is misused or abused in
any manner.
If the suction pump unit fails to operate within the warranty period while under the original
purchaser owns the product, return it postage prepaid to: Veridian Healthcare, Attn: Repair
Department, 1175 Lakeside, Gurnee, IL, 60031; include your name, address, phone number
and brief description of the problem with your nebulizer. Take care to carefully package the
product to avoid any damage that may occur while in transit; shipping insurance with
returned receipt is recommended. Veridian Healthcare will repair or replace the defective unit
at our option. Repair or replacement of the defective unit, at the warrantor’s option, is the sole
remedy under this warranty.
ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES WHICHTHE PURCHASER MAY HAVE ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE TIME THAT
THE ORIGINAL CONSUMER PURCHASER OWNS THE PRODUCT. Some states do not allow limitations or
how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
This warranty constitutes the warrantor’s only reasonability and obligation to repair and/or
replace materials or components, or refund the purchase price. Veridian will not be
responsible for any indirect, incidental, special consequential or punitive damages or other
loss, including, but not limited to damage to or loss of other property or liable to the
purchaser for any amount in excess of the cost of repair and/or replacement of the unit, or the
purchaser for any amount in excess of the cost of repair and/or replacement of the unit, or the
purchase price of the unit. Some states do not allow the exclusive or limitation of incidental or
consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

Gracias por comprar este VH aspirador de bomba de succión de sobremesa. Por favor, lea
todo el manual de instrucciones antes de utilizar la unidad para garantizar un uso seguro
y ecaz, y una larga vida útil del producto.
Por ley federal, la venta de bombas de succión sólo puede realizarse con receta médica.
Estos dispositivos deben usarse sólo de acuerdo con las instrucciones de un médico o de

3. Acople el juego de tubería/ltro al cuerpo de la bomba de succión, después acople de
manera segura la tubería del paciente con longitud de 6' al puerto en la tapa del recipiente
recolector.
Antes de usar la bomba de succión por primera vez o si no ha usado la unidad por un período
de tiempo prolongado, límpiela bien según se detalla en la sección Limpieza y Desinfección
de este manual.
Ensamble el juego de tuberías y ltro:
• Empuje rmemente la tubería de 6" a cada extremo del ltro. La
tubería debe acoplarse ajustada al ltro. Si la tubería no está apretada,
entonces debe reemplazar el juego.
• El juego de tubería/ltro debe dejarse sin ensamblar cuando no
esté en uso para evitar cualquier acumulación de humedad en la tubería o ltro.
Ensamble el recipiente recolector y la bomba de succión:
1. Reemplace la tapa en el recipiente de recolección. La tapa del recipiente no se cierra o
asegura al recipiente pero debe ajustarse de manera apretada y segura; tenga cuidado al
transportar un recipiente que contenga líquido.
2. Coloque el recipiente en el anillo abierto en el cuerpo de la bomba de succión.

El sistema de succión de la bomba tablero aspirador se ofrece
con dos modelos de opción de alimentación — 2 piezas DC
adaptador de corriente; modelo 11-110 es recargable e incluye
un adaptador de auto.
Al operar el dispositivo, tome las precauciones que le dicte su
sentido común en cuestiones eléctricas. Apague siempre la
unidad y desenchúfela antes de efectuar la limpieza o si no
funciona correctamente.
• El cable de alimentación incluido debe conectarse a la parte
trasera de la unidad de la bomba de succión como se indica.
• Siempre desconecte el cable de alimentación de la pared y la unidad cuando la bomba de
succión no esté en uso.
Alimentación de DC recargable (11-110)
• Esta unidad puede funcionar por la batería interna recargable
o con corriente alterna.
• El cable de alimentación de 2 piezas incluido puede ser
conectado a la unidad para su uso o para cargar el dispositivo.
El auto-adaptador está diseñado para cargar la batería interna
sobre la marcha; No use este producto durante la conducción.

Inspeccione siempre la tubería y la boquilla (no incluido) en busca de suras o desgaste antes

Uso por parte del paciente:
1. Coloque el sistema del compresor en una
supercie plana y estable, cerca del paciente y de
un tomacorriente. Asegúrese de que las ventilas
de aire que se encuentran al costado del
alojamiento de la unidad no estén bloqueadas ni
obstruidas.
2. Enchufe el cable de alimentación en el
tomacorriente.
3. Presione el interruptor de encendido para
encender la unidad y activar la operación de succión.
4. Verique que la unidad de succión se encuentre en el nivel de succión deseado antes de
realizar la succión en el paciente, girando la perilla de ajuste hasta alcanzar el nivel
requerido. El médico que prescribe puede asesorar y explicar qué nivel es necesario para el
cuidado de un paciente especíco.
NOTA: Este dispositivo no incluye el catéter del paciente (comúnmente llamado punta de
succión o pipeta) ya que se pretende que esta pieza se reemplace frecuentemente.
Consulte a su médico para obtener asesoría e información sobre cómo obtener el catéter
para el paciente.
5. Al nalizar, apague la unidad y desconéctela del tomacorriente si no la usará de nuevo
durante un período de tiempo prolongado.

Desinfección al nal del día / período de tratamiento:
Desinfecte el aspirador una vez diariamente, después del último uso del día, a menos que el
profesional del cuidado de la salud haya especicado un esquema de desinfección diferente.
Desinfecte el aspirador según se indica a continuación:
1. Asegúrese de que el cable de alimentación esté desconectado del tomacorriente.
2. Desconecte el tubo de aire, el juego de tubos y la boquilla (no incluido). Quite el recipiente
recolector y deseche su contenido. No lave el cuerpo de la bomba de succión ni lo sumerja.
3. Lave todas las piezas en agua caliente, usando un detergente suave no abrasivo.
4. Sumerja todas las partes en una solución de una parte de vinagre blanco y tres partes de
agua destilada durante un mínimo de 30 minutos.
5. Enjuague todas las piezas minuciosamente con agua.
6. Deje que todas las piezas se sequen completamente al aire o séquelas bien con una toalla
limpia y suave. No guarde las piezas mojadas, pues la humedad remanente crea riesgo de
crecimiento de bacterias.
La tubería para el paciente y la boquilla (no incluido) deberán limpiarse muy bien después de
cada uso y desinfectarse diariamente, a menos que su profesional del cuidado de la salud

• Nunca haga funcionar la unidad sin un ltro.
• Bajo el uso regular, reemplace el ltro mensualmente, o antes si se vuelve gris, parece
contaminado, se bloquea o humedece.
• Use sólo ltros de Veridian Healthcare; puede solicitar ltros disponibles mediante el
