Intended use
The appliance may only be installed between the heat-
ing water buffer cylinder and the DHW circuit of a heat-
ing system. Due to its design, the appliance may only
be installed and operated in a vertical position. Adhere
to the technical requirements stipulated in these
instructions.
The appliance may only be installed and operated in
sealed unvented systems to EN 12 828/DIN 1988, with
due attention paid to the associated installation, serv-
ice and operating instructions. Heating water buffer
cylinders are intended exclusively for fill water of pota-
ble water quality.
Intended use presupposes that a fixed installation in
conjunction with permissible, system-specific compo-
nents has been carried out.
Commercial or industrial usage for any purpose other
than DHW heating shall be deemed inappropriate.
Any usage beyond this must be approved by the man-
ufacturer in each individual case.
Incorrect usage or operation of the appliance (e.g. the
appliance being opened by the system user) is prohibi-
ted and will result in an exclusion of liability.
Incorrect usage also occurs if the components in the
system are modified from their intended function.
Adhere to statutory regulations, especially concerning
the hygiene of potable water.

Make the connection between the individual control
units in the cascade:
Connect the VBus cable (accessories) to the VBus
connection of the control units as shown in Fig. 8.

Interchanged connections result in incorrect
data transfer.
Never interchange cores.
Power supply
Regulations
Connect the power supply and implement all safety
measures (e.g. RCD circuit) in accordance with
IEC 60364-4-41, the connection requirements of your
local power supply utility, and VDE or national regula-
tions.
■Protect the control unit power cable with an appropri-
ate fuse.
■Disconnect the system by means of a device that
simultaneously separates all non-earthed conductors
with at least 3 mm contact separation.
We also recommend installing an AC/DC-sensitive
RCD (RCD class B ) for DC (fault) currents
that can occur with energy efficient equipment.

Setting time programs
If the "Timer" function is enabled, a time program
appears for setting the periods in which the various
functions are to operate.
There is an overview window for each day. You can
switch between days with / .
Press OK to set the time program. A range of days is
shown.
Use OK to select the required days for which you
would like to change the time program.
Use to select "Continue" and confirm with OK. The
menu "Edit timer" opens. In this menu you can add
and delete time phases.

Starting the comfort function automatically
Enable the function via "Comfort ON". The comfort
function will then always be enabled. Then set the
"Timer" function. The comfort function is only enabled
in the set time phases.
Settings for the comfort function
The comfort function switches on via
"T DHW set" - 7 K (DHW temperature sensor S2).
The comfort function switches off via "Comf.hyst".
After the "Wait.time" has expired, the comfort function
switches on again as required.
Set the primary pump speed while the comfort function
is enabled via "Comf. speed".
Setting DHW circulation
■With types PBS, PBM and PBL only possible if the
