VITA FiringAssist i-Line
1 Installation of the VITA FiringAssist i-Line
Minimum PC requirements to run the VITA FiringAssist i-Line:
– Windows XP or newer
– Random access memory: 128 MByte
– Free hard disk space: 100 MByte
– Screen resolution: 1024 x 768 pixels
To install the VITA FiringAssist i-Line, carry out the following steps:
– Install the file VITA_FiringAssist_i_Line_installer_1_0_0.exe on the PC.
Administrator rights may be necessary for the installation.
– Indicate the installation path during the installation (e.g., C:\Programme\v60tool).
After the program is successfully installed, there will be a new menu item with the name VITA FiringAssist i-Line in the Start
menu. In the VITA FiringAssist i-Line program, these instructions and an uninstallation routine can be called up there.
2 Important information
If a program list is transferred to a VITA V60 i-Line, the entire firing program list already present in the
VITA V60 i-Line will be overwritten.
To avoid an unwanted overwrite of the existing program list in a VITA V60 i-Line, a backup copy of the
VITA V60 i-Line firing program list must always be exported with an empty, prepared USB flash drive.

3.1 Menu bars
The menu bars are located at the very top in the program window.

3.2 Functions of the left-hand and right-hand tables

In the lower area of the program window are two tables with different functions and
possibilities for action:

3.3 Processing of program values
The upper area of the program window shows a firing curve image like the one present in the VITA V60 i-Line.
Here, the firing program values of a program can be changed in the right-hand table.
– Click once on the program to be changed in the right-hand table.
The clickable firing curve fields are:
Pre-drying, 1st Rise, Vacuum1, 2nd Rise, Vacuum2, Cooling and Name
– Click on the firing curve field in which the value to be changed is located.
– Change firing parameters and/or activate and deactivate the respective firing curve field.
By double clicking on an entry field, the current value is marked and overwritten by a new entry. For time entries, double
click on the minutes field and enter minutes and seconds one after the other. For example: 05:30.
To be able to easily change to the next entry field, press the "Tab" button all the way to the left on the keypad.
This changes the entry field to the adjacent one and the values located there are automatically highlighted.

3.4 Creating a new program
The creation of a new firing program is possible in the right-hand table.
– Mark the program in the right-hand table under which the new program is to be placed.
Otherwise, the new program is placed below the last program in the program list.
– Click on the symbol (New Program).
– Enter a material and program name in the name window and confirm.
A new (empty) program is added to the right-hand table.
– Move the program position up or down, if necessary, with and .
Continuous pressing leads to a continuous movement.
– Change the firing program values as described under 3.3 "Processing of program values."

3.5 Save a program list
The firing program list in the right-hand table can be saved.
– Click on the symbol (Save).
Alternatively, you can select Save under File Save.
– Enter the new name of the program list in the name window and confirm.

A preceding underscore cannot be used for your own program lists.
This is reserved for pre-installed program lists.
3.6 Opening a saved program list
To open a saved program list:
– Click on the symbol (Open).
Alternatively, you can select Open under File Open.
– Click in the window with the program list overview ("Load program") on the desired program list, and confirm (or double click
on the program list).

The opened program list appears in the left-hand table.
Program lists with a preceding underscore are pre-installed in the factory.
This can be faded in and out as needed.
3.7 Deleting a saved program list
To delete a saved program list, do the following:
– Click on the symbol (Delete).
Alternatively, you can select Delete under File Delete.
– Click in the window with the program list overview ("Delete programs") on the desired program list and confirm
(or double click on the program list).

When the program list overview is opened again using the symbols (Open) or (Delete), the deleted program list is
no longer available.
Program lists with a preceding underscore (VITA = long, other = short) are pre-installed in the factory. These cannot be deleted.

4 Transfering a program list from VITA V60 i-Line to VITA FiringAssist i-Line
To be able to import the program list saved in the VITA V60 i-Line into the VITA FiringAssist i-Line, a USB flash drive must first
be prepared. Then the program list can be exported from the VITA V60 i-Line and imported into the VITA FiringAssist i-Line.
4.1 Preparation of the USB flash drive
– Insert a completely empty USB flash drive into the PC.
– Open the VITA FiringAssist i-Line.
– Click on the symbol (Prepare) in the upper area of the program.
Alternatively, you can select Prepare under File Prepare V60.
Tip: If you want to export the program list from a VITA V60 i-Line and do not have the VITA FiringAssist i-Line readily available, you can
install an empty folder with the name "programs" on the USB flash drive. This corresponds to the preparation on the VITA FiringAssist i-Line.
After that, all existing drives (= USB flash drive) are displayed in a new window. In the example shown below (Fig. 9), drive "N:",
for example, has the name "KING."

– Select the drive (= USB flash drive) in the new window where your USB flash drive is saved and confirm
(or double click on the drive).
A window appears with the information "Preparation successful! The USB flash drive can be ejected and then removed."
The USB flash drive is now ready to use.
4.2 Exporting a program list from the VITA V60 i-Line
– Insert the prepared USB flash drive into the switched off VITA V60 i-Line.
– Turn the VITA V60 i-Line on at the main switch.
After switching on the VITA V60 i-Line, the entire program list of the VITA V60 i-Line is exported to the USB flash drive.
– Wait until the VITA V60 i-Line is ready for operation.
– Then remove the USB flash drive again.
A copy of the program list ("programs.vup") is now located on the USB flash drive in the "programs" folder.

4.3 Importing a program list into VITA FiringAssist i-Line
– Insert the USB flash drive into the PC again.
– In the VITA FiringAssist i-Line, click on the symbol (Import).
Alternatively, you can select Import under File Import V60.
– In the new "Import program" window, select the drive (= USB flash drive) and confirm
(or double click on the drive).

Now the imported program list is displayed in the left-hand table of the program window (Fig. 11).

4.4 Preparing a USB flash drive for further use
– To prevent any future unwanted overwrite of a program list in a VITA V60 i-Line, delete this program list from the USB flash
drive after the successful transfer of the program list into the VITA FiringAssist i-Line.
– Insert the USB flash drive into the PC.
– Open the VITA FiringAssist i-Line.
– Click on the symbol (Prepare) in the upper area of the program.

– In the new window, select the drive (= USB flash drive) and confirm (or double click on the drive).
The following query appears: "Delete existing file?"
– Confirm the deletion of the file.
A window opens with the information "Preparation successful! The USB flash drive can now be ejected and then removed."
Now the USB flash drive is empty again and prepared for the next use.

5 Transfering a new program list in VITA V60 i-Line
The expanded program list in the right-hand table can be exported to the USB flash drive and imported into the VITA V60 i-Line.
5.1 Exporting a program list to USB flash drive
– Click on the symbol (Export).
Alternatively, you can select Export under File Export V60.
After that, all existing drives (= USB flash drives) are displayed in a new "Export programs" window.
In the example illustrated below (Fig. 13), for example, the drive "N:" has the name "KING."

– Select the drive (= USB flash drive) and confirm the selection (or double click on the drive).
A message confirming the successful export of the program list appears: "Export successful! The USB flash drive can now be
ejected and then removed." If the message "Overwrite existing file?" appears, the file must be overwritten in order to be able to
transfer the new program list to the USB flash drive.
5.2 Importing a program list to VITA V60 i-Line
– Insert the USB flash drive containing the new program list into the switched off VITA V60 iLine.
– Turn the VITA V60 i-Line on at the main switch.
After switching the VITA V60 i-Line on, the entire, new program list is imported from the USB flash drive to the VITA V60 i-Line.
The program list pre-installed in the VITA V60 i-Line will be overwritten!
– Wait until the VITA V60 i-Line is ready for operation.
– Remove the USB flash drive again from the VITA V60 i-Line.

5.3 Preparing the USB flash drive for further use
To prevent any future unwanted overwrite of a program list in a VITA V60 i-Line, delete this program list from the USB flash
drive after the successful transfer of the new program list.
– Insert the USB flash drive into the PC.
– Open the VITA FiringAssist i-Line.
– Click on the symbol (Prepare) in the upper area of the program.
– In the new window, select the drive (= USB flash drive) and confirm (or double click on the drive).
The following query appears "Delete existing file?"
– Confirm the deletion of the file.
A window appears with the information "Preparation successful! The USB flash drive can now be ejected and then removed."
Now the USB flash drive is empty again and prepared.

6 Transfering a new program list to the PC
The program lists contained in the VITA FiringAssist i-Line can be saved on the PC in order to be able to send them by email,
for instance.
6.1 Exporting a program list from VITA FiringAssist i-Line to PC
– Create a folder on the desktop with the name of the program list to be exported.
– Select PC under File Export.
A new "Find Directory" window appears.

– Search for your saved folder in the list and click on it.
The folder name appears in the "Directory" input field.
– Click on "Select folder" to the bottom right.
The program list is saved in the selected folder.

6.2 Import program list from PC to VITA FiringAssist i-Line
– Select PC under File Import.
A new "Open" window appears.

– Search for your saved folder in the list and click on it with double click.
– Click on the program file that appears
The name of the program file appears in the "File name" input field.
– Click on "Select file" below right.
The program list is displayed in the left-hand table in the VITA FiringAssist i-Line.

7 Transfering programs from VITA Vacumat 6000 M / MP to VITA FiringAssist i-Line
The VITA FiringAssist i-Line offers the possibility of transferring VITA Vacumat 6000 M /MP programs from the VITA vPad to
the VITA FiringAssist i-Line and converting them into VITA V60 i-Line programs.
– Insert an empty USB flash drive into the VITA vPad and export the desired profile to an empty USB flash drive.
See VITA vPad Operating Manual.
If you would only like to transfer one material or program, you can copy this individually from the profile in the
VITA FiringAssist i-Line.
– Insert the USB flash drive with the data into the PC.
– Open the VITA FiringAssist i-Line.
– In the menu bar, select Vacumat under File Import.
After that, all existing drives (= USB flash drives) are displayed in a new window.
In the example illustrated below (Fig. 17), for instance, the drive "N:" has the name "KING."
