To All Dealers:
1. Subject #1
1.1 Poor clutch action due to abru t engagement of transmission drive belt.
2. Service Action, Subject #1
2.1 Order Service Assembly 105189 from your distribution center and install as follows:
1. Cut RH belt guide off clutch mounting bracket and remove the #8205 stationary idler
ulley (Fig. 1). Retain the ulley and two 3/8 washers for re-use.
2. Install the su lied s acer block under the frame, using the RH rear engine mounting bolt.
Tighten bolt so that the s acer block can still be moved (Fig.2).
3. Assemble the idler ulley and washer, along with the new arts su lied, to the s acer
block as shown in Fig. 2. If the bolt "bottoms" against the frame, either shorten the bolt or
add additional 3/8 washers, as required.
4. Rotate the s acer block until sufficient belt tension is obtained, then tighten the engine
mounting bolt. Adjust the belt guide to obtain the clearances shown in Fig. 2, and secure in
osition.
5. Test for ro er clutching action. If belt engagement is still too severe, rotate the s acer
block to lessen belt tension, and readjust belt guide. A number of adjustments may have to be
made to obtain the best belt clutching and declutching action. In severe cases, the belt can
become stretched beyond s ecifications and may require re lacement before ro er
adjustment can be obtained.

3.1 Interference between shift stick and frame, reventing ro er engagement of 2nd. gear
(Fig. 1).

4.1 Remove shift stick and bend as shown in Fig. 3.
5. Subject #3
5.1 Failure of Hi - Low Range shift fork, causing surging or ino erative range selector.
Transmission "jum ing out" of Hi - Low Range.
6. Service Action, Subject #3
6.1 Order Service Assembly 105190 from your distribution center and install as follows:
1. Remove transmission and install the su lied new shift collar,bevel gear assembly and 33
tooth s ur gear (Fig. 4). Other internal arts of the transmission should be cleaned, ins ected
and re laced, as necessary. Refer to the Foote Transmission Re air Manual (P/N 803743R2,
Price $2.50) for detailed re air instructions.
2. Install the su lied new Hi-
Low shift fork, detent in and s ring. BE SURE SHIFT FORK
ENTERS GROOVE IN SHIFT COLLAR (Fig. 4).
7. Please make all 3 im rovements if any one roblem exists.
8. Reimbursement - File a standard warranty claim.
