1PURPOSE AND SAFETY
Luna Mover is a motorized cart for Luna IPx4 2 channel. The Mover can transfer up to 275 kilos
in the following tracks by Winncare Nordic ApS: 135, 75 and 75 embedded including curves and
door connectors.
1.1 Purpose
The purpose of the Luna Mover is to give powered assistance to the caregiver when making
horizontal patient transfers.
If a person is capable of fitting themselves into a sling the Luna Mover can be used
independently –without help of a caregiver.
The Luna Mover is not bound to one user only, but can easily be passed on to a new user after
thorough cleaning (See 3.1).
NOTE: Do not use the Luna Mover for purposes other than originally intended.
1.2 Safety instructions
Important - Warning!
Read user manual and safety instructions before using the product.
•NEVER use the Luna Mover if there are any indications of wear or suspicion of other
defects on the track systems, the Luna Mover, hoist or on the accessories. In such cases
the Mover must be taken out of service immediately and you must contact your dealer or
Winncare Nordic ApS.
•Make sure that neither caregiver nor patient can be injured when carrying out lifts and
transfers. Always check surroundings and move obstacles out of the way.
•For independent use an emergency call system is required.
NOTE: Read the user guide for Luna IPx4 before using the Luna Mover.
1.3 Before use
The caregiver or user is responsible for making the following checks before use:
•The caregiver and user have received instructions or read the user manual for the Luna
Mover.
•Ensure that the annual service check has been carried out.
•If in doubt about how to use the Luna Mover please contact your dealer or Winncare
Nordic ApS for advice and guidance.

Check that all the parts are present and undamaged. Any suspicion of damage or shortage
should be reported to your dealer or Winncare Nordic ApS.
We recommend that the packing carton is stored for later transport or return shipment.

1.6 Transport
If the Luna Mover is to be transported between sites it is recommended to use the original
packaging.
In case of return shipment of the Luna Mover the original packaging must be used. If unable to
do so the user must find a suitable alternative that ensures proper protection of the Luna
Mover during transport.
Symbols are printed on the packaging to ensure the best information for carrier companies.

2INSTALLATION AND OPERATION
2.1 Installation and use of the Luna Mover
Installation
The Luna Mover is to be installed by a qualified technician.
1) Unlock the Luna Mover (See 2.2).
2) Insert in track system
3) Lock the Mover and click the safety release handle
back in place
Note: Refer to track system installation guide to ensure end
stop and other track parts are installed correct.
The Luna Mover cannot be inserted if it is locked. Do not place your fingers
between the track and the Luna Mover when operating the safety release handle.
Mounting Luna IPx4 ceiling hoist
1) Check that the safety release handle is not
activated. If done correctly, the Luna Mover cannot
be moved by hand (See 2.2).
2) Lift up the ceiling hoist (A) and connect to the Luna
Mover (resistance will be felt since the bayonet
mount is spring loaded).
3) Push up and turn the ceiling hoist 90˚ clockwise (B).
When the hoist is in place a click will be heard and
the hoist is locked in place.
4) Attach the power cable in the socket opposite the
handset connection.
5) Direction arrows must match the reference sticker
behind the safety release handle (C).
The Luna Mover is ready for use if all assembly instructions
have been followed correctly.
Note: The supplied stickers can be placed on the ceiling hoist
to indicate the driving direction. Make sure they match the
reference sticker.

Dismounting Luna IPx4 ceiling hoist
1) Make sure the Luna Mover cannot be moved by hand (See 2.2).
2) Detach the power cable from the Luna.
3) Press the ceiling hoist upwards against the Luna Mover and turn 90˚counter clockwise.
Operating the Luna Mover
1) Connect the hand control to the Luna ceiling hoist.
2) Press one of the horizontal buttons (A or B) to
activate the Luna Mover. When a button is released
the Luna Mover stops.
The direction arrows on the Luna Mover
match the horizontal arrows on the hand
control. They indicate which direction the
Mover will move when operated.
2.2 Operation of safety functions
Safety release handle:
In case of a Luna Mover malfunction it will not be able to move. Should a patient be suspended
during a malfunction the safety release handle can be used to unlock the Luna Mover moving
function –it can now be moved manually.
Unlocking
1. Remove the safety release handle.
2. Use the safety release handle as a key to
unlock/lock the moving function (See Quick guide
for use, page 12).
Note: The safety release handle can be operated from one
side only. If the reference sticker is visible operate from the
other side.
Locking
1. Turn the safety release handle 180°.
2. Remove safety release handle and click back in
place.
Do not place your hand between the Luna Mover and track system when locking
the Mover.
Click the safety release handle back in place after use to avoid driving direction
confusion.

3MAINTENANCE
3.1 Cleaning
The Luna Mover should be cleaned using a slightly damp cloth with a small quantity of standard
household cleaning agent or use surgical spirit to over-drying.
Strong chemicals or abrasive agents must not be used.
3.2 Storage
The Mover must be stored in a dry environment with relative humidity under 70%.
4CHECK, WARRANTY AND TROUBLESHOOTING
4.1 Annual check and warranty
The Luna Mover must always be repaired and maintained by qualified personnel.
The manufacturer Winncare Nordic ApS recommends that the Luna Mover MUST be checked
by a qualified technician at least once a year in accordance to Winncare Nordic ApS service
instructions. An annual check is also recommended to the European Standard (EN/ISO 10535)
for patient lifters/hoists including ceiling hoist.
It is the legal owner’s duty to ensure that these checks are carried out on the product.
The following items is to be inspected during the annual check:
•Cart wheels and bearings
oCheck for noise and change if necessary
•Driving wheels/Rubber discs
oClean for dust and check for wear
•Bearings for driving wheel
oCheck if worn down, change if necessary
•Wire and motor connection
oCheck for defect
•Safety release system
oCheck for defect
•Overall condition
oCracks, wear and tear, etc.

If it is necessary to replace any parts due to wear or damage, Winncare Nordic ApS
recommends for safety reasons to use only original spare parts. Use of non-original spare parts
will void warranty.
Warranty
There is a 5-year warranty on the product conditional on annual service and maintenance being
carried out, according to the above service guidelines. See further warranty conditions on

4.2 Troubleshooting
Fault:
Possible cause
Solution
The Luna Mover does not
react when the hand
control LEFT/RIGHT are
used.
Batteries are not fully
charged or defective.
Charge the Luna ceiling hoist as
described in Luna user manual
The emergency stop is
activated on the Luna and
the red light is on.
Deactivate emergency stop. Hold
“R” button on the hand control for
5 seconds.
The power cable is not
properly connected.
Attach power cable as seen in 2.1

Check if up/down buttons on the
hand control works. If not try a
different hand control or order a
new from the dealer or Winncare
Nordic ApS .

6ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY
The Luna Mover has an expected life time of a minimum of 10 years conditional on annual
service and maintenance being carried out.
6.1 Disposal
Disposal of the Luna Mover can be made through Winncare Nordic ApS which
will ensure the different parts are recycled or reused in an environmental
friendly way.
Parts that contain aluminium, plastics and steel may damage the environment
if not handled in an environmentally responsible way.
6.2 Quality
Winncare Nordic ApS is certified according to the quality standard ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.
These certifications mean that the products and the company comply with the international
standards for quality management and standards for traceability of medical products.
Luna Mover is classified as a Medical Device, Class 1 product.
