Intended Use
The Mangar Swi Transfer Slide enables healthcare workers to transfer and reposion paents in the supine
posion with minimal moving and handling force needed, while providing a stable, safe experience for the
paent.
The Mangar Swi is intended solely for use as an aid for healthcare workers to transfer, move and reposion
a paent either across a at surface, or from a Liing Cushion to a bed. It is powered using the Airo Duo
Compressor.

WARNINGS
• This equipment MUST only be used by persons competent in its use.
• The medical state of a person needing to be raised MUST be assessed before commencing a li.
• An individual risk assessment should always be performed for each paent before use.
• Ensure that the surface on which the Mangar Swi is to be placed is free from sharp objects.
NOTE: Place a blanket, groundsheet, towel or similar under the Swi if using it on a rough surface.
• If a slide sheet has been used to transfer the paent onto the Swi it must be removed from under the
paent before commencing inaon.
• Never leave a paent unaended on the Mangar Swi Transfer Slide whilst it is inated.
• The Mangar Swi Transfer Slide must only be inated using the Mangar Airo Duo. Do not aempt to
inate with other manufacturers air supplies.
• Always ensure the paent is centered on the Mangar Swi before and during inaon using the white
markings and safety straps as guidance.
• Ensure the Mangar Swi Transfer Slide is orientated with the white markings facing upwards before
inaon.
• If using the Swi with the Rhino Liing Cushion, always ensure safety straps are connected to the
Rhino during the li, and then connected to the Swi again once the li is complete and before
performing a lateral transfer.
Ensure that you read and understand this instrucon manual before using
this product. Failure to follow the instrucons and safety precauons in
this manual can result in damage and/or serious injury.

Posioning the paent on the Swi - g. 2
• Posion the Swi at the side of the paent so
that the paent’s shoulders are level with the top
arrows (A).
• NOTE: Alternave methods of transfer can be
used with the Swi Transfer Slide. Please refer
to hopsital guidelines and training materials for
further details.
• To transfer the paent onto the Swi, roll the
paent onto their side, in the direcon facing
away from the Swi.
• Roll or fold the Swi up to the halfway line and
place the rolled half next to the paent’s back.

• Roll the paent onto their back, and then onto
their other side. Pull the Swi through and then
the paent can be rolled onto their back.
NOTE: Once the paent is on the Swi, use the
paent markings on the device as guidance to
posion the paent centrally. The shoulders should
lie in line with the top arrows.
• Secure the safety straps loosely around the
paent to allow for complete inaon. (g.4)
NOTE: Do not use or hold these safety straps to
perform the transfer. Only use the handles provided.
NOTE: Ensure the surfaces you are transfering the
paent between are in a suitable posion and the
brakes are applied to both surfaces before beginning
the transfer.
WARNING: The safety straps will become ghter
across the paent as the Swi is inated, so do not
ghten fully before inaon.

Connecng the Airo Duo - g. 5
• Connect the hose (A) to the Airo Duo
compressor.
• Place the Swi Transfer Slide so it is at on the
surface with the paent outline facing upwards
and the air valves facing towards the foot end of
the paent.
Note: Either end of the hose can be
connected to the Airo Duo, there is not a correct
orientaon.
• The Airo Duo can be used with either mains
power or baery power. The pump will
automacally switch between mains or baery
power.
• Posion the Airo Duo compressor so that it will
not be in the way during the transfer. The Airo
Duo can be hooked onto the foot of the bed
using the bed hooks on the back of the pump.

• To switch on, press the ‘Power’ buon (A g.7).
The baery state indicator (B g.7) will show the
baery capacity at the start of operaon.
• To switch o, press and hold the ‘Power’ buon
for 2 seconds. The indicator lights will go out.

Operang
• NOTE: Alternave methods of transfer can be
used with the Swi Transfer Slide. Please refer
to hopsital guidelines and training materials for
further details. An individual risk assessment is
always required before operaon.
• Remove the caps from the valves before inang
the Swi (g.8). Check that all straps are free so
they don’t obstruct the transfer.
• To inate the Swi once the paent is in posion,
turn on the Airo Duo, connect the hose to the
valve on the Swi and ensure a good connecon.
Once connected, the hose does not need to be
held in place during use. Always leave the hose
connected for the duraon of the transfer to
ensure constant air ow.
• WARNING: Ensure the Swi is fully inated
before beginning the transfer.
• Once the Swi is fully inated, the safety straps
can be ghtened around paent.
• The Swi can be operated with a minimum of 2
carers, one on each side of the paent. (g.9)
• Use of a paent transfer board should be
considered based on an individual risk
assessment.
• To perform the slide, the Swi should be slowly
pushed across the surfaces in a controlled
manner unl the paent is halfway across, and
then pulled slowly the remainder of the distance
by the receiving carer(s). The receiving carer
should stand against the bed so that the Swi
cannot travel too far across and overhang the
bed.
• Once the transfer has been performed, always
ensure that the Swi is aligned centrally over the
receiving surface and is not overhanging.
• In situaons where the bed/surfaces are wide
and the carers would have to lean over to
transfer the paent, addional carers can assist
from the head and foot end of the bed.

Aer Use
• Once the transfer is completed, disconnect the
hose from the Swi, and turn o the Airo Duo.
The Swi will deate slowly under the paent.
Once deated, replace the caps over the valves.
• If using with the Mangar Rhino, ensure the Swi is
fully deated before inang/deang the Rhino.
• Transfer the paent o the deated Swi and
then fold up.
Roune Cleaning
Note: Always wipe clean any dirt or spills as soon as
they occur.
Fully inate the Swi, sponge clean with a non
abrasive proprietary liquid cleaner or disinfectant.
Clinell Universal wipes or similar can be used. Dry
thoroughly. Do not dry using hot air.
Disinfecng
The Swi should be fully inated and pre-cleaned
by washing with detergent and water, thoroughly
rinsed and then disinfected using a 1:10 soluon of
household liquid bleach and water (1 part bleach to
10 parts cold water). Leave the soluon on the Swi
for approximately 10 minutes before thoroughly
rinsing o with clean cold water. Allow to air dry
before storage. Do not dry using hot air.
Maintenance
Other than roune cleaning, the Swi is maintenance
free.
Winncare recommends that your Swi is inspected
annually by either your supplier or other suitably
qualied person.

Transportaon / Storage
Disconnect the Airo Duo compressor from the Swi before transporng so as to avoid accidental
inaon of the cushion.
Ensure that the Swi is clean and thoroughly dry before storing to prevent product damage. Store
in a dry environment.
Winncare recommends you ensure the Airo Duo is fully charged before storing. To maintain the
Airo Duo baery when being stored for long periods, ensure it is fully charged every 3 months.
Disposal / Recycling
When the Swi has reached the end of its working life, dispose of it using your organisaon’s
recycling/disposal system.
When the Airo Duo has reached the end of it’s working life, remove the baery for safe disposal
and dispose of the Airo Duo using your organisaon’s recycling/disposal system.

The warranty is given against defects in material and workmanship and comprises piece, parts and labour.
The warranty is not valid in the case of fair wear and tear, wilful damage, common neglect, misuse or
unauthorised alteraon or repair by unqualied persons.
The following statements do not aect the consumer’s statutory rights. This product is sold on the
understanding that in the event of any defect of manufacture or material appearing within the warranty
period, the defect will be reced free of charge providing that:
(a) Reasonable evidence is provided (e.g. purchase invoice, delivery note) that the claim is being made
within the warranty period.
(b) The defect is not aributable to accidental damage (either in transit or otherwise), misuse or
unauthorised repair.
