The portable instrument Oxi 315i automatically recognizes the type of the
connected oxygen sensor (CellOx 325 or DurOx 325).
Warning
Only connect sensors to the measuring instrument that cannot return any
voltages or currents that are not allowed (> SELV and > current circuit with
current limiting). Almost all sensors - in particular WTW sensors - fulfill these
conditions.

Overview of the measuring modes:
Special functions:
AutoRead
(drift control) The AutoRead function checks the stability of the measurement signal. Acti- vate AutoRead with <AR>. The current measured value is frozen. Thus, the
<AR> key can also be used as a "hold function" to freeze the measured val-
ues. Press <RUN/ENTER> to start the AutoRead measurement. During the
AutoRead measurement, AR flashes on the display until a stable measured
value is reached.
Temperature
measurement The measuring instrument automatically measures the temperature of the sample with the integrated temperature probe of the conductivity measuring
cell (display shows TP).
AutoRange
measuring range
selection
There are several measuring ranges available for oxygen measurements.
If a measuring range limit is exceeded, AutoRange causes the measuring in-
strument to change automatically to the next measuring range.
Salinity
correction The oxygen concentration measurement of seawater requires a salinity cor- rection. The portable instrument Oxi 315i calculates the measured value us-
ing a salinity value of 30.0. Press the <RUN/ENTER> key while pressing the
<M> key to switch the salinity correction on and off. While the salinity correc-
tion is switched on, the function display Sal appears on the display.
lPress the <>key.
Display test appears briefly on the display.
The relative slope for the sensor type that was just connected subse-
quently appears for approx. one second.
After this, the measuring instrument automatically switches to the mea-
suring mode. The display shows the relevant measured value.

CellOx 325 and
DurOx 325
The portable instrument Oxi 315i enables the two sensor types, CellOx 325
and DurOx 325, to be calibratedseparately from one another. The calibration
of a specific sensor type does not affect the calibration of any other type of
sensor. When connecting a sensor, the calibration data stored for the respec-
tive sensor type are automatically used.
Calibration proce-
dures The calibration is performed in water vapor-saturated air. Use the air calibra- tion vessel OxiCal®-SL (for CellOx 325) or OxiCal®-D (for DurOx 325) for the
calibration.
Sensor evaluation After the calibration, the measuring instrument evaluates the current status
of the sensor against the relative slope. The evaluation appears on the dis-
play. Therelative slope has no effect on themeasuring accuracy. Lowvalues
indicate that the electrolyte will soon be depleted and the probe will have to
be regenerated.

Default
settings The following settings are reset to the status on delivery when a reset is per- formed (initialized):
Note
During a reset, the relative slope for the sensor types CellOx 325 and
DurOx 325 are reset together. They cannot be reset separately.
Reset procedure:
lKeep a suitable air calibration vessel ready.
lConnect the D. O. probe to the measuring instrument.
lPut the D. O. probe into the air calibration vessel.
lPress the <CAL> key. The oxygen calibration mode appears (display
shows O2CAL).
lPress <RUN/ENTER>. The AutoRead measurement begins.
lIf the measured value is stable, the instrument displays the value of the
relative slope and the sensor evaluation.
lSwitch to the measuring mode with <M>.

Das Taschengerät Oxi 315i erkennt automatisch den Typ des angeschlosse-
nen Sauerstoffsensors (CellOx 325 oder DurOx 325).
Achtung
Schließen Sie an das Meßgerät nur Sensoren an, die keine unzulässigen
Spannungen oder Ströme (> SELV und > Stromkreis mit Strombegrenzung)
einspeisen können.Nahezu alle Sensoren - insbesondere WTW-Sensoren -
erfüllen diese Bedingungen.

Messen
Überblick über die Meßmodi:
Spezialfunktionen:
AutoRead
(Driftkontrolle) Die Funktion AutoRead prüft die Stabilität des Meßsignals. AutoRead mit <AR> aktivieren. Der aktuelle Meßwert wird eingefroren. Daher kann die Ta-
ste <AR> auch als "Hold-Funktion" zum Einfrieren von Meßwerten verwen-
det werden. Zum Starten der AutoRead-Messung <RUN/ENTER> drücken.
Während der AutoRead-MessungblinktdieAnzeige AR, bis einstabilerMeß-
wert vorliegt.
Temperatur-
messung Das Meßgerät mißt die Temperatur der Meßlösung automatisch mit dem in- tegrierten Temperaturmeßfühler des Sauerstoffsensors (Anzeige TP).
Meßbereichswahl
AutoRange Für Sauerstoffmessungen stehen mehrere Meßbereiche zur Verfügung. AutoRange bewirkt, daßdas Meßgerät bei Überschreiten einer Meßbe-
reichsgrenze automatisch in den nächsten Meßbereich wechselt.
Salinitäts-
korrektur Bei der Sauerstoff-Konzentrationsmessung von Meerwasser ist eine Salini- tätskorrektur erforderlich. Das Taschengerät Oxi 315i berechnet den Meß-
wert unter Berücksichtigung einer Salinität von 30,0. Zum Ein- und
Ausschalten der Salinitätskorrektur Taste <M> bei gedrückter Taste <RUN/
ENTER> drücken. Bei eingeschalteter Salinitätskorrektur erscheint die Funk-
tionsanzeige Sal im Display.
lTaste <>drücken.
Im Display erscheint kurz der Displaytest.
Anschließend erscheint für ca. eine Sekunde die für den gerade ange-
schlossenen Sensortyp verwendete relative Steilheit.
Das Meßgerät schaltet danach automatisch in den Meßmodus. Das Dis-
play zeigt den zugehörigen Meßwert an.

Mit dem Taschengerät Oxi 315i können die beiden Sensortypen CellOx 325
und DurOx 325 getrennt voneinander kalibriert werden. Bei der Kalibrierung
eines Sensortyps bleibt die Kalibrierung des jeweils anderen Sensortyps un-
beeinflußt. Beim Anschlußeines Sensors werden automatisch die gespei-
cherten Kalibrierdaten des entsprechenden Sensortyps verwendet.
Kalibrierverfahren Das Kalibrieren erfolgt in wasserdampfgesättigter Luft. Verwenden Sie zum
Kalibrieren das Luftkalibriergefäß OxiCal®-SL (für CellOx 325) bzw.
OxiCal®-D (für DurOx 325).
Sensorbewertung Nach dem Kalibrieren bewertet das Meßgerät den aktuellen Zustand des
Sensors über die relative Steilheit. Die Bewertung erscheint im Display. Die
relative Steilheit hat keine Auswirkung auf die Meßgenauigkeit. Niedrige
Werte weisen darauf hin, daßdie Elektrolytfüllung in absehbarer Zeit ver-
braucht ist und der Sensor regeneriert werden muß.

Grund-
einstellungen Folgende Einstellungen werden bei einem Reset auf den Auslieferzustand rückgesetzt (initialisiert):
Hinweis
Bei einem Reset werden die relativen Steilheiten für die Sensortypen
CellOx 325 und DurOx 325 zusammen rückgesetzt. Ein getrenntes Rückset-
zen ist nicht möglich.
Ablauf Rücksetzen:
lPassendes Luftkalibriergefäß bereithalten.
lSauerstoffsensor an das Meßgerät anschließen.
lSauerstoffsensor in das Luftkalibriergefäß stecken.
lTaste <CAL> drücken. Es erscheint der Sauerstoff-Kalibriermodus (An-
zeige O2CAL).
l<RUN/ENTER> drücken. Die AutoRead-Messung beginnt.
lWenn der Meßwert stabil ist,zeigt das Gerät den Wert der relativen Steil-
heit und die Sensorbewertung an.
lMit <M> in den Meßmodus wechseln.

à oxygène branchée (CellOx 325 ou DurOx 325).
Attention
Ne raccordez à l'appareil de mesure que des sondes ne pouvant pas être ali-
mentéespardestensionsoucourantsnonautorisés(>SELVet > circuitavec
limitation de courant. A peu près toutes les sondes - les sondes WTW en par-
ticulier - remplissent ces conditions.
