Power Cord Safety Information
Before operating the press, read the following instr ctions caref lly. For details, contact yo r Xerox
representative.
WARNING:
• The electrical s pply for the device m st meet the req irements stated on the data plate on
the rear of the device. If yo are not s re that yo r electrical s pply meets the req irements,
cons lt yo r local electricity provider or a licensed electrician.
• Do not se an extension cord.
• Do not remove or modify the power cord.
Refer to these instr ctions to ens re the contin ed safe operation of the press.
• Use the power cord s pplied with the press.
• Pl g the power cord directly into a properly gro nded electrical o tlet. Ens re that each end of the
cord is connected sec rely. If yo do not know if an o tlet is gro nded, ask an electrician to check
the o tlet.
• Do not se a gro nd adapter pl g to connect the press to an electrical o tlet that does not have a
gro nd connection terminal.
WARNING: Avoid the potential of electrical shock by ens ring that the press is
gro nded properly. Electrical prod cts can be hazardo s if mis sed.
• Verify that the press is pl gged into an o tlet that provides the correct voltage and power. Review
the electrical specification of the press with an electrician, if necessary.
• Do not place the press in an area where people can step on the power cord.
• Do not place objects on the power cord.
• Replace the power cord if it becomes frayed or worn.
• Do not npl g or pl g the power cord while the press is powered on.
• To avoid electrical shock and damage to the cord, grasp the pl g when yo npl g the power cord.
• Ens re that the electrical o tlet is near the press and is easily accessible.
The power cord is attached to the press as a pl g-in device on the back of the press. If it is necessary
to disconnect all electrical power from the press, disconnect the power cord from the electrical o tlet.

Vacuum Cleaner Use for Toner Spills
Use a broom or wet cloth to wipe off spilled toner. To minimize generation of d st particles, sweep or
wipe slowly. Avoid sing a vac m. If yo m st se a vac m, ens re that the nit is designed to
contain comb stible d sts. Ens re that the vac m incl des an explosion-rated motor and non-
cond ctive hose.

Supplies for the Press
• Store all s pplies in accordance with the instr ctions given on the package or container.
• Keep all s pplies away from the reach of children.
• Never throw toner, toner cartridges, dr m cartridges, or toner containers into an open flame.
• When handling s pplies, avoid skin and eye contact. Eye contact can ca se irritation and
inflammation.
• Do not attempt to disassemble s pplies, which can increase the risk of skin or eye contact.
Caution: Use of non-Xerox s pplies is not recommended. The Xerox Warranty and the Service
Agreement do not cover damage, malf nction, or degradation of performance ca sed by se
of non-Xerox s pplies, or the se of Xerox s pplies not specified for the press.

Powering Off the Press
Before yo change toner color sets, power off the press. To power off the press, se the General Power
Off proced re.
GGeenneerraall PPoowweerr OOffff
Note: Before yo power off the press, wait 5 seconds after any active job completes.
To power off the device, press the power On/Off b tton. For general se, to power on and power off
the press, press the power On/Off b tton. Do not se the main power switch to power on and power
off the press nless directed by a Xerox Service Representative.
When all print jobs have completed and there are no jobs c rrently processing, if yo select the Power
Saver option, the press enters a red ced power-cons mption mode.
Note: To reactivate the press when it is in Power Saver mode, press the Power Saver b tton.
PPoowweerriinngg OOffff tthhee MMaaiinn PPoowweerr
The main power switch controls the main power into the press. For normal press operation, leave the
main power on. Before connecting a cable, cleaning the press, or when a restart is req ired, press the
main power switch to the Off position.
Caution:
• Before npl gging the power cord, press the main power switch to the Off position. Fail re
to do so can damage the press or ca se a press malf nction.
• After yo power on the press, wait a few seconds before yo power off the main power.
Fail re to do so can damage the press hard drive or ca se a press malf nction.
• After yo press the printer On/Off power b tton, wait a few seconds before yo press the
main power switch to the Off position. Fail re to do so can damage the press hard drive or
ca se a press malf nction. After yo power off the press, wait ntil the control panel to ch
screen goes dark. Wait 10 seconds, then press the main power switch to the Off position.

• While a job is processing, or while the Power Saver b tton is blinking, do not press the main
power switch. Doing so can damage the press hard drive or ca se a press malf nction.
To power off the main power switch:
1. Open the front cover, then press the main power switch to the Off position.
2. Close the front cover.
Note: Before yo switch on the power again, allow the press to remain off for a minim m
of 10 seconds.

Overview
The Xerox®Adaptive CMYK+ Kit allows yo to add new toner color options to the press, in addition to
the traditional black, cyan, magenta, and yellow.
Each Xerox®Adaptive CMYK+ Kit consists of a niq e set of toner cartridges, a toner dispenser
assembly, a developer drawer assembly, and a storage cart.
Note: The toner cartridges incl ded with the Xerox®Adaptive CMYK+ Kit are starter cartridges.
Note: Xerox®Adaptive CMYK+ Kit req ires a system eq ipped with a Fiery®digital print server.
