Warranty and Disclaimer
Within THREE years after the purchase date, the original buyer may return any XKchrome controller that
has failed due to a defect in materials or workmanship. LED Underwater Lights that have one or more LEDs fail
to illuminate due to a defect in materials or workmanship are covered with a THREE year warranty for the
original buyer.
Installation of this product must be performed by a licensed professional. Should the failure of the product be
the result of damage occurring as a result of improper installation, alteration of the product or an act or omission
on the part of the consumer, this warranty is void. XKGLOW Lighting shall not be responsible for any
consequential damages which arise from the use and/or installation of the product. If the kit is installed in any
manner other than specified, XKGLOW Lighting reserves the right to deny any warranty claims at the discretion
of the technical support department. Any product return must include the original packaging, invoice number and
a statement of the alleged defect. Upon receipt of the returned product, the company will test the product for
defect. If the results of the testing do not support the warranty claim, do not reveal any defect or indicate
consumer negligence in the installation and handling of the product, then the product will be returned to you and
you will be charged a reshipping fee. If the product is returned from an address within the continental United
States, within the first 30 days after purchase, and is found to be defective, XKGLOW Lighting will exchange or
refund the original purchase expense. This offer does not extend to the cost for shipping charges on any
international packages.

• Warranty or liability will not exceed the product purchase price, which shall be buyer’s sole and exclusive
remedy.
Return/Exchange Procedure
1. Email [[e-mail]] to notify us of the product issue as well as the item number and name of customer
on invoice.
2. We will send you the trouble-shooting guide to fix the issue, or to narrow down which of the component(s)
need to be replaced. If the issue still exists, we will ask you to send back the defective items to be replaced.
3. Please send the returned item as instructed, along with claims and a telephone number where you can be
reached.
4. After the returned item(s) have been accepted and inspected, we will issue a refund or replace the items
ASAP. For refunds, item(s) must be sent to XKGLOW within 14 days from date of purchase. Original shipping
charges are not refundable.

CAUTION: Lights must be submerged to avoid overheating. Use out of water will decrease LED lifetime and
cause early failure. Lights do have overheating protection built-in (for testing purposes only) and will shut off
automatically when the lights reach max temperature (194F). Do not operate lights out of water for more than 2
minutes for testing.
To ensure proper installation, install must be done while boat is out of water and dry.
PRO TIP: Know your hull! Most common type is fiberglass, but it may be wood, metal, or even carbon fiber.
For metal or carbon fiber, be sure to mount an insulating material (not included) between the metal or carbon
fiber surface and the lights to prevent galvanic corrosion. If you are uncertain about hull type, please contact
your boat’s manufacturer for assistance.
Mounting Instructions
1. Test all components before mounting: As shown below, plug ALL light units together and connect them to the
controllers and the switch wiring harness. Connect the RED battery terminal to the POSITIVE pole of 12V DC battery.
Connect the BLACK battery terminal to the NEGATIVE pole. Power on the controller and push the controller buttons
to test the lights. If the lights show any defects, please contact us and we will be happy to replace them for you.

2. Choose mounting location: Determine desired mounting location on boat’s transom. Be sure to check actual draft
water level if operating lights while in motion. Remember, the lights MUST be submerged when in use to avoid
overheating.
3. Drill holes in transom: Drill ¼” hole through center of desired location and feed power wire through the hole and
into the boat. Hold light flush against transom and mark the location for the mounting screws. Remove the light and
drill pilot holes for mounting screws to prevent cracking in the fiberglass.
4. Clean mounting surface: Using a heavy grit sandpaper, rough up the surface where the underwater light will be
placed to remove any build up or debris. Clean area using rubbing alcohol and lint free cloth.
5. Apply sealant: Apply uniform layer of marine grade sealant to back side of light, especially around the mounting
holes and wire connection. Additionally, apply a thin layer of sealant around the three holes drilled on the transom.
6. Mount the lights: Feed power wire back through the center hole and into the boat. Press light against transom
using uniform pressure. Install included mounting screws with neoprene washers (included) and secure the light.
7. Use sealant that has squeezed out from beneath the light to create a complete seal around the outer edge of the
light. Wipe off any excess sealant. Follow manufacturer’s recommendations for sealant and allow to fully dry before
putting the boat back into the water.
8. Install XKchrome Controller: Choose location for the XKchrome controller and mount. Connect the red wire to a
positive 12V source and the black wire to a ground (negative 12V).
9. Install High Power Booster: Using the diagram on page 2, install the High Power Booster. Choose a dry and
convenient location for the booster. Plug the booster into the XKchrome controller. Connect the red wire to a positive
12V source and the black wire to a ground (negative 12V). You must instal l a fuse on the 12V line (not included). If
using the two 48W underwater lights included in this kit, use a 10 amp fuse. If adding additional lights, you will need
to adjust accordingly.
10. Connect the lights: Use the included adapters to connect the underwater lights to the booster. You will need to
repeat this process for ALL four channels; positive (black), blue, green, and red. This applies to the RGB OUTPUT
wires from the booster and the colored wires from ALL lights. All red wires go to a single connector, all green wires
go to a single connector, etc. Start by removing the cover from the adapter. Then loosen the phillips screws on the
adapter. Insert the stripped wires into the adapter and then snug the screws down to secure the wires into place.
Replace the cover after all wires of that specific color are in place. See diagram below.
11. Using zip ties, secure any loose wiring. Ensure ALL wiring is free and clear from any moving parts.
12. Power on, download the XKchrome App, and enjoy!

13. Control Modes
• Short press to turn on the system and switch between Dash Mode and App Mode.
• Long press to turn off the system.
• Dash mode button functions:
o Change pattern Change Color Change brightness.
o The last running color and patterns will be saved as default in dash mode.
Please note: There are multiple XKGLOW apps
on the App Store. Only the XKchrome App will
work with the XKchrome Bluetooth Controller.
