IMPORTANT TO KNOW
YS PRO collects real-time data from your boat and share them via 3G/4G. During the installation,
you will be asked to choose a 3G/4G subscription depending on your geographic location.
The list of the subscriptions is given p27.
YS PRO can also be connected to a large number of additional sensors or accessories. These ac-
cessories are wireless and can be added during the installation or after. YS PRO is programmed
to run only Yacht Sentinel © accessories.
The list of the accessories is given p20.
YS PRO casing is waterproof and has an integrated battery to ensure the ability to send alerts in
any conditions. If the power is shut down, you will be alerted instantly.
YS PRO can be connected to 12V, 24V or even 48V.
While sailing and NMEA on, a high frequency data acquisition ensures precise monitoring. When
out of the boat, power and NMEA off, YS PRO enters in a super low consumption mode. Only ac-
cessories, batteries and power status are shared. However, YS PRO integrates a digital switch
feature allowing you to turn on NMEA 2000 for a brief instant from the app. Therefore, you will be
able to monitor the whole range of data anywhere at any time without impacting your electric con-
sumption.

GETTING STARTED
Before starting the installation, make sure that you have all the included materials with you.
Choose a spot where you will install your YS PRO. A wired connection to the distribution board
and NMEA is needed. The screen will help you during the conguration. After that, all the system
is monitored through the app, a direct access to the YS PRO after installation is therefore not nec-
essary. This is why we recommend if possible to install your YS PRO in your distribution cabinet.
The 4 screw slots will help you x the YS PRO on any surface.
Before its rst conguration, YS PRO is in a “shipping mode” to save battery. The device will be
activated when rst wired to a boat battery.
See p22 for more information about YS PRO modes.
Installation Guide

10
INSTALL ANTENNAS

11
ATTACH YS PRO TO YOUR BOAT
Find the best location for your YS PRO. We recommend YS PRO to be installed in a covered area
(in a cabinet if possible) where you have access to NMEA and to the distribution board. Use the 4
screws to attach the YS PRO vertically as following. Make sure to leave enough space at the top
(12cm / 5inch) for the antennas and at the bottom (10cm / 4inch) for the cables.
Note: the notches are designed to allow you to plug and unplug the device easily without having
to unscrew.

12
CONNECT THE CENTRAL UNIT TO NMEA 2000
to acquire data from your boat, YS PRO needs to be
wired to NMEA 2000. YS PRO is integrated with an
auto-scale program. It will automatically identify the
different NMEA sources.
Please refer to p25 for the range of collected data.
CONNECT TO OTHER CAN BUSES (OPTION)
In addition to NMEA 2000, YS PRO is able to collect
data from a voltage detector or from 4 other proto-
cols: CAN Open, J1939, Ethernet and Modbus. Other
protocols need to be selected through the
“connectivity settings” of the menu (see p18) on or-
der to be recognized by YS PRO.
IMPORTANT: All the connected components need to
have the same ground as the main battery.

13
VOLTAGE DETECTOR SET-UP
The voltage detector is used to detect the voltage of an electric device via the distribution board,
typically bilge pumps, generator, water maker or engine. Voltage detection allows users to visual-
ize in the YS Pro app if this device is on or off 24/7, for how long it’s been used for the last 24h/
since inception and to notify when maintenance is due if the maintenance settings have been
lled in.
Connect the red cable to the voltage detection and the black cable to the battery (-).
ETHERNET SET-UP
A waterproof connector is included in your package. Before using ethernet on your device, make
sure to protect well your cable as following:

14
CHOOSE YOUR POWER CONFIGURATION
YS PRO allows you different congurations depending on your need and your boat. The power
cable is composed of 5 smaller cables: black / red / white / green / yellow. YS PRO requires to be
connected to your main battery, the others congurations are optional.
The connections have to be made following the power diagram p15.
Required: Connect to main battery
Plug the black and the red cable to your main battery as the power diagram. YS PRO average
consumption stays under 0,3W in low consumption mode and it will constantly monitor the main
battery.
Find more information about the battery consumption p23.
Optional: Monitor a second battery
The white cable will allow you to monitor a second battery. No additional power consumption will
be drawn. If no need of a second battery monitoring, please cut this wire short and cover it with
electrical tape.
Optional: NMEA 2000 Relay
By plugging the green and yellow cable to the NMEA 2000 relay, you will be able to turn off
NMEA 2000 when away (save battery) and acquire data when needed (turn on and off).
If you whish to not use the relay, please cut the wires short and cover them with electrical tape.
The two options can be monitored simultaneously.

16
INITIALIZATION
When wiring is complete, you can turn on your device and follow the instructions on the screen.
You will be asked to download the user app and to pair the device to your phone. Make sure that
you have an internet connection before proceeding.
Note: during the initialization, YS PRO will ask you if you wish to use it as a WI-FI hotspot. If you
already have a SIM card you can insert it following next page instructions. You can also add this
option later.
