lowsittocompetewithanyvaneaxial,mixedow,ortubular
centrifugalfan.WiththeMFSIInlinefan,YORKbringsits

Efficient
TheinnovativewheeloftheMFSIdischargesairatanangle
fromtheinlet,insteadofperpendicularly.Thisgivesthefan
amuchhigherefciency.Asignicantresultisthebroad
peakefciencycurvethatallowsforusingsmallerfanswith-
outsacricingsoundlevelsorhorsepower.Sincethehigh
volumetofansizeratioallowsforsmallerfansthanother
fantypes(Table1),theMFSIisalsoidealforreplacement
andretrotprojects.
Becauseofthehighefciency,thewheelcanrotatemore
slowly.Thelowspeedwheelgivesthebearingsover
120,000hoursL10(minimum)lifeforClassIIfans.Thisis
threetimesthetypicalbearinglifeofotheraxialorcentrifu-
galinlinefans.TheL10bearinglifeonClassIfansis40,000
hours.
Air Performance & Sound
Theoutstandingairandsoundperformanceofthisfanal-
lowsittooutperformawiderangeofcompetitors,including
axial,inlinecentrifugal,andmixedowfans.
Silent
Sincethemostefcientfanisalsothequiet-
est,theMFSIInlineFanexcelsinboth
measures.Becauseitdoesnotsacrice
thehighvolumeadvantagesofaxialfans,
theMFSIcanalsotakeadvantageofthe
highefciencyandlowsoundoftubular
centrifugalfans.Yougetthebestofboth.
Basically,yougetmoreCFMforthemoney
withoutalargepenaltyinnoise.Thecombina-
tionoflowspeed,lowhorsepower,lowsound,extralong
bearinglife,andhighefciencymakestheMFSIInlinefan
thebestselectionforlow,mediumorhighstaticpressure
inlinerequirements.
MFSIInlinefanscanbemountedhorizontallyorvertically.

illustratestheadvantageoftheMFSIdesignasairowin-
creases.Whileotherfantypesareefcientatthe“peak”of
thefancurve,theMFSIdesignmaintainsaveryhighstatic
efciencyacrossabroadvolumerange.
Forexample,comparingperformanceatastaticpressure
of2.5"W.G.,a365MFSIfanoperatingat16,000CFMhas
astaticefciencyof73.2%.Thesamefanhasastatic
efciencyof60.8%at32,000CFM.Atypicalmixedow
fansize44hasapeakstaticefciencyof65.4%at16,000
CFM.However,asthevolumeincreasesto32,000CFM,
theefciencydropsoffto17.7%.
