Set pump on hard surface in water before starting.
The pump is supplied with a 3/4" garden hose adapter. For
use with plastic pipe, remove the adapter and install the
desired1" or 1-1/4" NPT fitting. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN
THE HOSE OR PLASTIC ADAPTER FITTING. Finger tight
plus 1/2 turn is sufficient.
Plug power cord into properly grounded outlet with voltage
according to the nameplate (See recommended grounding
methods on front page).
Will operate continuously whether partly or fully submerged.
Submersible utility pumps are intended to pump clean or dirty
water or water like liquids at temperatures up to 40˚C.
Do not set pump directly on sand, dirt or mud. Sand or mud-
choked pumps can be backflushed clean.
Do not handle or carry the pump by the power cord. Use the
handle.
Extended usage of the pump in a partially submerged or
non-submerged situation may cause the pump to overheat due
to lack of heat dissipation from the water. If this occurs, the pump
will shut itself off until the motor cools to its normal temperature.
Repeated overheating may cause damage to the pump.
MAINTENANCE
The motor housing of the pump is completely sealed and
requires no service. Disassembly of the motor housing or
alteration of the power cord voids all warranty.
The motor is a continuous duty type with an automatic
thermal overload protector device.
The pump can run against a partially restricted discharge.
If the pump becomes clogged, remove the screen and clean
out the area.
If necessary, remove the screws holding the volute base to
the motor housing and clean the volute.
Debris in the intake should be routinely removed from the
bottom of the pump to prevent damage to the pump, which
will void the warranty.

In those instances where damages are incurred as a result of an alleged pump failure,
the Homeowner must retain possession of the pump for investigation purposes.
