2. Health and safety instructions
2.1. Intended use
The plot combine Z130 is built only for normal work, for the cereal harvest.
Any other use beyond this use is considered misuse!
Zürn Harvesting GmbH & Co. KG accepts no liability for any resulting damage. The operator
is solely liable in the event of misuse.
Intended use also includes compliance with the operation, maintenance and service conditions
specified by the manufacturer.
The plot combine Z130 is only allowed to be used, maintained and serviced by persons who
are familiar with the operating manual and who have been instructed about the safety regu-
lations and hazards.
The applicable health and safety regulations as well as other generally recognised safety, oc-
cupational health and road traffic rules are always to be followed.
Zürn Harvesting GmbH & Co. KG is not liable for any damage resulting from unauthorised
modifications to the machine.
2.2. General health and safety instructions
•It is forbidden to stand behind the header and behind the straw dis-
charge!
•To prevent the risk of fire, keep machine clean!
•Smoking on the machine is forbidden!
•Due to their function some parts of the machine cannot be completely
protected by means of design measures.
•Do not open or remove safety guards with the engine running
•A mask, hearing protectors and safety glasses are to be worn while
working with the combine (except in the cab)!
2.2.1. Fuel
•Care is required on handling fuel - in-
creased risk of fire!
•Never re-fuel with the engine running!
•Never re-fuel in the vicinity of naked flames
or sparks!
•Never smoke while re-fuelling!
•Never re-fuel in closed spaces!
•Immediately clear up spilt fuel!

2.2.2. Carrying persons/passengers
•A passenger is only allowed to be carried if there is a proper passen-
ger’s seat.
•Any further carrying of persons is not allowed.
2.2.3. Driving
The handling of the vehicle is affected, e.g., by the surface and by the at-
tachments. For this reason the driving style is to be adapted to the related
terrain, ground and weather conditions.
•Pay attention to permissible axle load and total weight!
•Caution is required on turning on an incline and with the grain tank full
- risk of tipping!
•Caution on driving over furrows - risk of tipping!
•It is not allowed to drive on public roads with the grain tank full!
•Never leave the driver’s cab while driving!
2.2.4. Leaving the combine
1. Fully lower attachments (header, reel and others)!
2. Secure combine against rolling away on leaving! (Parking brake,
wheel chocks)
3. Switch off engine, remove ignition key and lock cab if necessary.
4. Switch off main battery switch.
5. Never leave combine unsupervised as long as the engine is still run-
ning!
6. Wait unit all attachments are stationary!
2.2.5. Attachments
•Only work under raised parts of the machine (e.g.
header, reel) if they are secured against dropping.
•Never stand between combine and attachments with-
out first securing the combine against rolling away!
(Parking brake, wheel chocks)
•Knife bar, cross feeding auger, reel, header and the
like cannot be completely protected by means of de-
sign measures due to their function. An increased safe
distance is to be maintained!
•Never reach into rotating augers!
•Feeding augers in the grain tank cannot be adequate-
ly protected due to their function. Never reach into or
climb into the grain tank with the engine running.
•Only take samples and clear blockages using suitable
tools (e.g. ram or scoop)
•Attachments can run-on after switching off. Remain at
a safe distance until the units are stationary.

2.2.6. Maintenance / repair
•Only undertake servicing, maintenance and cleaning work with the
engine shutdown and stationary.
•Remove ignition key and lock cab if necessary.
•Fluids escaping under high pressure can puncture the skin and cause
serious injuries, for this reason seek medical attention immediately.
•The radiator is under pressure when hot. Caution on opening the cap!
•Correctly dispose oils, filters, fuels, batteries and other materials used
for operation!
•Changing tyres requires appropriate specialist knowledge and the correct tools.
2.2.7. Brake system
•Check the action of the brakes prior to each journey.
•Regularly thoroughly check the brake system.
2.2.8. Electrical system
•On the replacement of components, pay attention to the stipulated technical requirements!
•On the subsequent addition of electrical components, check whether these cause malfunc-
tions in the vehicle electrics/electronics.

3.4. Driving
The direction of travel and the speed of the vehicle are controlled via the multifunction lever
(see 3.1 element 3).
Driving forward
To drive forward, move the multifunction lever
from the neutral position (N) all the way to
the left.
Slowly press the multifunction lever forward
(1). The combine starts to move. The further
forward you press the multifunction lever, the
faster the combine moves.
To brake the combine again pull the multifunc-
tion lever back in the direction of the neutral
position (N).
Driving backward
To drive backward, move the multifunction le-
ver from the neutral position (N) all the way
to the right.
Slowly pull the multifunction lever backward
(2). The combine starts to move. The further
backward you press the multifunction lever,
the faster the combine moves.
To brake the combine again press the multi-
function lever back in the direction of the neu-
tral position (N).

3.6. Steering column adjustment
The steering column (Fig. 3.6) can be adjust-
ed continuously for tilt and height by releas-
ing the locking bolt on the left of the steering
column.
Secure locking bolt again!
3.7. Inch pedal
To stop without adjusting the joystick, press
the inch pedal (Fig. 3.7).
To drive away, release the pedal. The com-
bine accelerates again to the original vehicle
speed.
This statement applies to driving forward as
well as to driving backward.
3.8. Parking brake
In addition to the service brake, the combine
is equipped with a parking brake.
The parking brake is actuated using the park-
ing brake lever (Fig. 3.8) on the left side of
the driver’s cab.

•Check the header, the grain tank, the sieve case, as well as the shaker for loose parts.
•Check engine oil level.
•Check oil level in the hydraulic system.
•Check air filter.
•Check coolant level.
•Check coolant and air intake hoses.
•Check acid level in the battery.
•Check fuel tank filling (if necessary bleed fuel system).
•Check wheel nuts or bolts are tight. If necessary tighten them. Recheck every 50 operating
hours!
•Check air pressure in the tyres.
•Check action of the brakes.
•Check tension and condition of the v-belts.
•Check tension and condition of the chains.
•Check free movement of the pulleys for the belt coupling.
•Check the adjustment of the header load relief springs.
4. Checking prior to placing in operation for the first time
The engine must be shutdown and the ignition key removed during the entire
check.
