1. BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Before installation, thoroughly read the section “Safe use of air curtains”.
It contains all instructions on the safe and correct use of the product.

1.1 DESCRIPTION
OF THE AIR CURTAIN
The VENESSE Comfort air curtain is intended
for vertical placement next to the door ope-
ning. It is oered in a 2.5m length, for use with
an electric heater, with a water coil and without
a heater. Its controls allow selection of three fan
speeds and two levels of electric heat. The wa-
ter coil must be regulated separately.
All VENESSE
Comfort air curtains can be linked
together in chains of up to six air curtains, and
operated from the one control panel.
Two external switching elements can be con-
nected to the VENESSE
Comfort air cur-
tain. (door contact DK-1 and timer switch
SH-TM-848)
The VENESSE
Comfort air curtain comes with
an anchor stand that allows it to be fastened to
the oor.
The connections of VENESSE
Comfort air cur-
tain can be lead from the oor or ceiling. Spe-
cial ports have been prepared in the metal of
the upper cover and in the anchoring stand for
supply lines (electrical lines, heating medium
pipes and communication cable).
The standard colour of the VENESSE
Comfort
air curtain is white (RAL 9010) but custom co-
lours from the RAL sample book are available.
The VENESSE
Comfort air curtain is appropria-
te for installation in the foyers of hotels, restau-
rants, stores, schools, railroad stations, etc.

By pressing the buttons it is possible to turn the water
heater on or o - only with version VCV-B-25W
For information on regulating the water heater, read the ma-
nual of used the water regulator and its accessories (e.g., ZV-3,
TER-P, SMU+OSMU)!
2.4 SIGNALS AND OTHER FUNCTIONS
(all types of air curtains)
All subsequently listed functions apply to an independent air curtain. Operation of linked
air curtains is explained in chapter 2.6 OPERATING LINKED AIR CURTAINS.

2.5 SERVICE MODE
The service mode is for setting cleaning interval signals, and for setting the air curtain‘s behaviour
when the door switch is used and the door is closed..

2.6 OPERATING LINKED AIR CURTAINS
When VENESSE Comfort air curtains are linked, they are operated from a one control panel that
is connected to the air curtain selected as “MASTER”. The other air curtains in the chain operate
in the mode set from that control panel as a“SLAVE”.
DK=Door Switch; SH=Time switch.

If the user wants to change the fan speed or•

the doors are open.

The time switch controls all chained air•
curtains.
2.6-2 Cleaning Interval - CLEAN
The CLEAN signal will be triggered by the
air curtain that reaches its cleaning deadline
rst. The LED goes on to signal the clea-
ning interval. The cleaning interval signal for
the air curtains can be reset by pressing the
buttons on the control panel at the same
time. It can also be reset before the cleaning
interval has been signalled, e.g., if the air curtain
is cleaned before its signal time.
Reset applies to all chained air curtains.

Never reach inside the air curtain unless
the main electrical current has been turned
o! The air curtain must be allowed to cool!
3.1 CLEANING
Use of compressed air, chemicals, solvents•
and water is strictly prohibited when cleaning
the air curtain.
Use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to clean the
interior of the air curtain.
4.1 SAFETY ELEMENTS
4.1-1 Preventing the electric heater
from overheating
If the electric heater overheats, the safety ther-
mostat will shut it o. The electric heater will go
back on automatically after cooling.
If the safety thermostat fails or malfunctions,
the emergency thermostat will go on and turn
the heater o permanently. The heaters of all
other air curtains will remain in operation.
There is no signal when the thermostats are•
activated. A failure can be recognised by re-
duced heater output when the settings panel
indicates it should be working.
When the emergency thermostat activates,•
it is necessary to determine the cause of the
overheating!
Never reach inside the air curtain unless•
the main electrical supply has been turned
o!
4.1-2 Preventing the fan from
overheating
If any motor is overheated and the heat safe-
ty fuse shuts it o, the other motors remain in
operation. After cooling, the motor will auto-
matically go back on.
There is no signal when an overheated mo-•
tor shuts o. A failure can be recognised
by decreased air ow volume.
When a motor shuts o, it is necessary to•
determine the cause of the failure!

TROUBLE

Measure the input current and
voltage and compare them to
the values on the manufactu-
rer’s label located on the air
curtain housing
The current and voltage do not
correspond to the values on the
manufacturer’s label.
The air curtain is disconnected
from the electrical supply, e.g.,
due to a power outage or at the
main circuit breaker.
Check the circuit-breaker box
where the air curtain is instal-
led.
The air curtain’s electrical con-
nection does not correspond to
the schematic.
Find the schematic and check
the air curtain’s connection.
The schematic can be found ei-
ther in the Installation Manual,
or under the air curtain’s servi-
ce hood
The neutral conductor is not
connected. Connect it
A wire came loose from its connec-
tor when the air curtain was wired.
Unbolt the protection cover
and check the connectors.
The cable from the control pa-
nel to the air curtain is impro-
perly connected.
The fuse is blown.
Insucient space in front of the
intake louvers or limited curtain
suction (see installation manual).
Check the air curtain’s fuse. The
fuse is located on the printed
circuit board. Check to make
sure it is not burnt. If it is blown,
then it must be replace with a
fuse of the same electrical va-
lue.
Ensure adequate space.
Clean the air curtainThe air curtain is dirty.
Contact the service center and
have the fan changed.
One or more of the air curtain’s
fans have failed.
Check the cable connection
between the control panel and
the control electronics of the
air curtain.
Pull the cable terminal from
the “MASTER” connector in the
electronics panel of the air cur-
tain and snap it back into pla-
ce. Open the control panel box,
pull the cable from the panel
connection and snap it back in.
Try using a dierent cable sup-
plied by the manufacturer and
retest the air curtain. If the air
curtain still does not work, re-
place the control panel with a
dierent one and try again.

4. TROUBLESHOOTING
Whenever an air curtain’s motor or heater overheats, it is necessary to detect and elimina-•
te the cause.
If the cause is any sort of internal failure in the air curtain, it is absolutely necessary•
to contact the appropriate authorised service centre.
4.3 ERRORS INDICATED BY BLINKING LED
The signal LED is located on the electronic panel next to the MASTER connector.
When air curtains are linked, a signal is given for a failure of any air curtain in the chain. To nd out
which air curtain has the problem, you must check the LEDs on all air curtains in the chain.
”OK” state – LED blinks once per second

If you have followed the troubleshooting charts and still cannot solve the problem and start
the air curtain, contact an authorised service center (see the next chapter, 5. SERVICE).
Never work on the air curtain unless it has been disconnected from the main power supply.•
If you are not sure how to proceed, do not attempt any repairs – bring in a professional!
5.1. IF YOU CAN’T FIX THE PROBLEM YOURSELF
If you are unable to solve the problem, contact the supplier or a company authorised by 2VV.
Warranty and post-warranty service is performed by the supplier or one of its authorised service
organisations, a list of which is available from the supplier.
Be ready to provide the following information to your supplier or service center:
- The air curtain’s type designation
- Accessories being used
- Place of installation
- Serial number
- Installation conditions (including electrical)
- Period of operation
- Detailed description of the problem

5.2. END OF SERVICE LIFE
– DISPOSAL
Before disposing of the product, render it
unusable.
Even old products contain raw materials that
can be reused. Dispose of these at a raw mate-
rial collection site.
It is best to dispose of a product at a specialised
location that salvages recyclable materials for
reuse. Dispose of the product’s unusable parts
at a managed landll.
When disposing of materials, it is mandatory to
follow the applicable national regulations on
waste disposal.
