Importantnotes:
1.ThechargerIQ-328 isonlyforusewithrechargeableNiCdandNiMH batteries
(AA / AAA)weredetermined. Neverusethechargerwithotherbattery/ battery
typessuchasLithium,Alkaline orothertypes.
2.Thechargershouldbeusedonlyindry, closedroomsonlyduringnormal
operatingconditions.
3.Alwaysfollowthe manufacturer's instructionstochargethebatterywiththe
correct chargingcurrent. Neveruseahigherchargingcurrent than the
manufacturerrecommended.
4.Useonlythe suppliedoriginalpoweradapter.
5.Notethatthebatteriescan gethotduringcharging(inparticularat highcharge
currents).

Function buttons:
MODE button (mode):
Afterinsertingthe batteries, theMODE buttonisusedtoselectthedesired charging
mode("CHARGE","Discharge","REFRESH"or"TEST").Toselectingyou need
toholdthe MODEbutton forabout3seconds. Byrepeatedlypressing will shown
on the displaythe currentmode.The settingsarealwaysapplied toall occupied
slots.
DISPLAYbutton (display):
Duringcharging,you can pressDISPLAYbutton toget the following values:
•the batteryvoltage(V)
•Chargingtimeinhh:mm(h)
•Thecharged capacity(mAhorAh)
•Thepresentchargeanddischargecurrent (mA)
CURRENTbutton (charging current):
You can Select thechargecurrent withinaperiod of5secondsafterinsertingthe battery
byCURRENTbutton.AsStandardchargingcurrentthechargeruses
automatically200 mA.
FUNCTIONS OFTHE CHARGER:
Thefollowingfunctionscan be selected:
•the batteryvoltage(V)
•CHARGE function:Chargingbatteries
•DISCHARGE function:dischargingbatteries.ThisFunction minimizesthe
memoryeffect.
•DISCHARGE-REFRESHfunction:regeneration ofoldbatteries.Thisfunctionis
especiallyusefulforoldand long-stored batteries.It triestoreachan increasein
capacitybychargingand discharge.
•TESTfunction:ThisFunctionisusedtoapproximatethe exactcapacityinmAh or
Ah todetermine the battery.
Foreachmode:Afterthe batteryhasreached full capacity(displayshows"Full ")the
chargerwillbe switched automaticallytocontrolled tricklecharge(the batteriesare
charged withcontrolledlowCurrent).

CHARGE "CHARGE":
Thebatterychargerusingasanautomaticdefaultsettingacharging currentof200mA.
However,you canselectinthefirst5secondsbytheCURRENTbutton between200,
500,700, 1000 mAbatteryfor1-4orup to1800 mAfor1-2batteries. (chargingchannels
1and 4).Ifno choice,automaticallystartsdischargingwith200 mA. Inthe chartbelow

When only oneor tworechargeablebatteries are charged, provided that only slotNo. 1and slotNo. 4are used,acharging
current up to1500 mA or 1800 mA may be stated bythe pressing theCURRENTbutton.
When thebatteriesareinserted,the displayshowsthe batteryvoltage(eg1.27 V)for4
seconds,thenthe chargerswitchestothe settingFunction forthe chargingcurrentand
the displaywillshow200 mAfor4seconds.Ifnochangemade inthistime,the Charger
will start the chargingprocess afterashortblinkingofthe Display.

Note:
•Alwaysfollowthebatterymanufacturer's directionsandpayattentiontothe
recommendedmaximumchargingcurrent.Basicallyachargecurrentof200mA
isrecommended,thisisasafeand optimalvalue foreachbattery,when rapid
chargingisnot necessary.
•When you buynewbatteries,itispossiblethattheyhavetobe formatted firstin
ordertoreachoptimalperformance.You can do thisbythe REFRESHfunction
(see page7).
•Thechargingcurrentcan notbe changed duringthe chargingprocess.Thiswill
prevent accidentalsettingchange.
•Whenthe powersupplywasconnected tothe socketbeforeabatteryisinserted,
then all the segmentswill shownforashorttimeand itwill be "null ".Ifalow
discharged batteryordefectivebatteryisinserted,willbe also"null "on the LCD
display.
•If thereisanyoverheating(temperaturesabove55 °C,usuallytriggered byatoo
highchargecurrent),the chargingprocess isstopped andthedisplayshows"000
mA".Onlyafterthe temperaturedropped toasafelevel,the chargingprocess
continues.Incasearerepeatedthe overheating,thebatteriesmustberemoved
tocooldownandthenrestart withan newlowercurrent.
DISCHARGING "DISCHARGE"
When you Selectthedischargefunction(DISCHARGE),theinserted batteriesarefirst
discharged,then charged.So the memoryeffectisavoided.ToselectsuchFunction,
afterinsertingthe battery,holddownthe MODEbutton foraboutthree seconds.The
dischargecurrent, you can select byusingthe CURRENTbutton. (seetablebelow)

Oncethe batterieshavebeen discharged the chargingprocess will start automatically.
ThechargingCurrent isalwaysthe doubleofthe adjusted discharge current. For
example, selectadischargecurrentof350mA, thechargingcurrent 700mA. Therefore,
makesuretoselect anot too highdischargecurrent.
Thedisplayshows"Full "when theChargingiscompletet. Assoonas"Full"is
displayed, you canswitchbytheDISPLAYbutton,between chargingtime,voltageand
capacity.
Note: TheMODE button mustbe holdabout three seconds. Onlythan you canselect
the functionsCHARGE, DISCHARGE, TESTand REFRESHbypressingthe MODE
button again.
REFRESHING "REFRESHDISCHARGE"
TheDISCHARGE-REFRESHfunction can provide forolderoralong timeunused
batteries, theoptimumcapacityback.Thisfunction canonlyselect bybypress and hold
the MODEbutton. Afterthe Functionhasbeenselected DISCHARGE-REFRESH". You
can select the dischargecurrent, bytheCURRENTbutton. (seetableatEMPTY)As
soon asthismodeisselectedandstarted, thechargerwill start todischargethe inserted
batteries, then toload. Thisprocess will be automaticallyrepeated until thebattery
chargerdetectsnoincreaseincapacitymore.The batterieshavereachedtheir
maximumcapacity.

TESTMODE "TEST"
Withthismode, you cancheck, analyzethe present capacityofyourbatteries.
Thebatterychargerwillfullychargethe batteriesatfirst,thenthe batteriesarefully
discharged and chargedagainfinally. Thedisplaywill showthe capacityofthe battery.
BylongholdtheMODE button, then selectthe"TEST". Thenset theCURRENTbutton
the chargingcurrent. (see tablebelow)
