Switches:
ENTRYDELAY ON/OFFSwitch (INSTANTOFF/ONon 4621):Toset the entrydelayto zero, movetheswitch down
momentarily(LEDlit).Torestoreittotheselectedtime,moveit upmomentarily(LEDout).This switch isoperativeonly
whenthe system isarmed.A safetyfeature,however,automaticallyrestoresthe entrydelay at disarmingtime.This pre-
ventsthe userfromsubsequentlyamringthe systemandleavingthepremiseswithout restoringthe entry delay,thereby
causinganalarmuponre-entry.
FIRETEST/RESETSwitch: Thisswitchshorts thefire loopto initiatean alarmwhenmomentarilypushedupwardto
TESTposition.Themainalarmsoundershouldfunction,givinganindicationof batterycondition.The FIRETEST is reset
byoperatingthe FIRETEST/RESETswitch momentarilydownwardto RESETposition.This downwardoperationresets
thefirecircuit andsmokedetectorspoweredbythesystem.Inaddition,it is usedto clearthe memoryofalarmin the sys-
tem’szonestatus LEDsandinthe paniccircuit (refleotedbyabsenceof GREENstatusLED indicationat No.5240local
orremotekeypads).
EMERGENCYPushbutton (aNo. 4621option): Depressingthe BLUEPoliceShieldpushbuttonwill activatea
panicalarm.The speakerinthe No.4021andexternalspeaker(s)will be activated(loudwarbling speakersound)
immediately,ifaudiblepanicwas selected.Forbothaudibleandsilentpanic,asupplementaloutputtriggerwill beimme-
diatelyactivated.
FtREPushbutton (aNo. 4021option): Depressingthe RED Flamepushbuttonwill activatethe firealarm.The speaker
intheNo.4021andexternalspeaker(s)will beactivated(loud,steadyspeakersound)immediately,aswellas afire indi-
catingsupplementaloutputtrigger.
LED Indicators:
FireLED(RED)This LEDflashesto indicatetroubleinthe Firezone.At thetimethatthis occurs, the buzzerinthe No.
5240willbeginto soundintermittently.Theseindicationswill remainuntilthefauftiscleared.
Thefaultcouldhavebeencausedbyoneofthefollowing:
a)A malfun&tionwithinasmokeorproductsofcombustiondetector.
b)A breakinoneofthefire loopwires.
c) A breakinoneofthewires supplyingpowerto detectors.
d)Ablownauxiliaryoutputcurrentprotectionfuse.
