LED LANTERN SAFETY WARNINGS
Read all the instructions before using the product.
To reduce the risk of injury, close supervision is necessary when
an appliance is used near children.
Do not use outdoors.
To reduce the risk of electrical shock, do not the product or
charger in water or other liquid. Do not place or store the product
where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
Use only the charger supplied by the manufacturer to recharge.
Only use AEG chargers for charging AEG batteries. Do not use
battery packs from other systems.
Use only recommended battery pack. Any attempt to use another
battery pack will cause damage to your worklight and could possibly
explode, cause a fire, or personal injury.
Remove battery pack from the product before performing any
routine maintenance or cleaning.
Do not disassemble the product.
Do not place the product or battery pack near fire or heat.
They may explode. Also, do not dispose of a worn out battery pack
by incinerating. Do not incinerate the battery, even if it is severely
damaged or completely worn out. The battery may explode in fire.
Do not operate the product or charger near flammable liquids or
in gaseous or explosive atmospheres. Internal sparks may ignite
fumes.
Do not store the product in a damp or wet location. Do not store
in locations where the temperature is less than 10°C (50°F) or
more than 38°C (100°F). Do not store in outside sheds or invehicles.
Do not permit children to use the product, lens, and surrounding
housing.
If wrapped or in contact with fabrics, the lens can produce
suicient heat to melt some fabrics. To avoid serious personal
injury, never allow the lens to come in contact with anything.
Keep the product dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.
Always use a clean cloth when cleaning. Never use brake fluids,
gasoline,petroleum-based products, or any strong solvent to clean
the product.
Don’t expose the product to rain. Water entering an appliance will
increase the risk of electric shock or malfunction.
Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
Proper footing and balance enable better control of the product in
unexpected situations. Do not use on a ladder or unstable support.
Do not stare at the operating light source.
The light source of this luminaire is not replaceable; when the light
source reaches its end of life the whole luminaire shall be replaced.
ADDITIONAL BATTERY SAFETY WARNINGS
WARNING! To reduce the risk of fire, personal injury, and product
damage due to a short circuit, never immerse your tool, battery pack
or charger in fluid or allow a fluid to flow inside them. Corrosive or
conductive fluids, such as seawater, certain industrial chemicals, and
bleach or bleach containing products, etc., can cause a short circuit.
SPECIFIED CONDITIONS OF USE
The lantern is intended to be for general illumination of most work
area spaces
Do not use the product in any way other than those stated for
intended use.
BATTERIES
Battery packs which have not been used for some time should be
recharged before use.
Temperatures in excess of 50°C (122°F) reduce the performance of
the battery pack. Avoid extended exposure to heat or sunshine (risk
of overheating).
The contacts of chargers and battery packs must be kept clean.
For an optimum life-time, the battery packs have to be fully charged,
after used.
To obtain the longest possible battery life remove the battery pack
from the charger once it is fully charged.
For battery pack storage longer than 30 days:

Store the battery pack where the temperature is below 27°C and away
from moisture.
Store the battery packs in a 30% - 50% charged condition.
Every six months of storage, charge the pack as normal.
TRANSPORTING LITHIUM BATTERIES
Lithium-ion batteries are subject to the Dangerous Goods Legislation
requirements.
Transportation of those batteries has to be done in accordance with
local, national and international provisions and regulations.
■The user can transport the batteries by road without further
requirements.
■Commercial transport of Lithium-Ion batteries by third parties is
subject to Dangerous Goods regulations. Transport preparation
and transport are exclusively to be carried out by appropriately
trained persons and the process has to be accompanied by
corresponding experts.
When transporting batteries:
■Ensure that battery contact terminals are protected and insulated
to prevent short circuit.
■Ensure that battery pack is secured against movement within
packaging.
■Do not transport batteries that are cracked or leaking.
Check with forwarding company for further advice.
RESIDUAL RISKS
Even when the product is used as prescribed, it is still impossible
to completely eliminate certain residual risk factors. The following
hazards may arise and the operator should pay special attention to
avoid the following:
■Use the product only for its intended use. Do not alter or modify
the product from the original design or function.
■Always be aware that misuse and improper handling of the
product can cause injury to yourself and others.
BATTERY PACK PROTECTION
The battery pack has overload protection that protects it from being
overloaded and helps to ensure long life. Under extreme stress the
battery electronics switch o the machine automatically. To restart,
switch the machine o and then on again. If the machine does not
start up again, the battery pack may have discharged completely. In
this case it must be recharged in the battery charger.
MAINTENANCE
The ventilation slots of the machine must be kept clear at all times.
Use only AEG accessories and AEG spare parts. Should components
need to be replaced which have not been described, please contact
one of our AEG service agents (see our list of guarantee/service
addresses).
If needed, an exploded view of the tool can be ordered. Please state
the Article No. as well as the machine type printed on the label and
order the drawing at your local service agents or directly at:
