Precautions on Installation
In order that the product can be used safely and properly, the contents of this Manual must be thoroughly read and understood. Please keep the
Manual readily available.
C-123L/A is a Chime Com open voice door answering intercom.
It communicates with a door and activates door strike.
Components available
• C-123L/A set (C-ML/A master station & C-D door station)
• Power supply: PS-0602C, PS-0602D, PS-0603DIN or SKK-620 (in
USA).
FEATURES
• Open voice, press-to-talk communication
• One inside station
• 15-second timed call-in and communication
• Communication volume control
• Door release button
• Do not make any wiring connections while the power supply is turned on. Electric shock or unit trouble could result.
• Master station is for indoor and wall mounting only. Do not use outdoors or on desk-top.
• Sub station is for ourdoor use and weather-resistant. But do not spray high-pressure water directly by hose, etc.
• Do not install the master station in any of the following locations, as it can cause the unit to trouble.
· High or extreme cold temperature area: under direct sunlight, near equipment that varies in temperature,
in front of air conditioner, inside a refrigerated area, etc.
· Places subject to environmental conditions, such as oil, dust, chemicals, salt, etc.
· Places subject to moisture or humidity extremes (bathroom, cellar, greenhouse, etc.)
C-123L/A system is powered by either batteries or 6V DC power
supply. Never leave all the batteries loaded when a power supply is
used.
• Power supply
The connecting terminals & battery compartment are located
underneath the front case. Push bottom of front case upward,
and lift off the chassis.
• Opening front case
Run a separately jacketed cable for door release from
communication. Use Aiphone EL-12S door release or other
manufacture's which must not exceed 50V AC, 1A.
• Connecting door release
• When the existing chime wires are used, it is possible to contain AC voltage. Locate
and disconnect AC transformer, as it can cause electric shock or damage to the unit.
Ask qualified personnel to rectify it.
* AC-operated buzzer or chime may be determined by the fact that;
1. The batteries have never been replaced so far.
2. The marking on the device contains AC power source.
• Do not connect any power source other than specified on the master station. Fire or electric shock could result.
• When loading batteries inside the unit, be sure to observe polarity.
Due to damage of the batteries and spilling, fire, injury and contamination to environments could result.
• Mount the master station in a convenient location, but not where it could be bumped or jarred.

WARRANTY
Aiphone warrants its products to be free from defects of material and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of one
year after delivery to the ultimate user and will repair free of charge or replace at no charge, should it become defective upon which
examination shall disclose to be defective and under warranty. Aiphone reserves unto itself the sole right to make the final decision
whether there is a defect in materials and/or workmanship; and whether or not the product is within the warranty. This warranty shall
not apply to any Aiphone product which has been subject to misuse, neglect, accident, power surge, or to use in violation of
instructions furnished, nor extended to units which have been repaired or altered outside of the factory. This warranty does not cover
batteries or damage caused by batteries used in connection with the product. This warranty covers bench repairs only, and any
repairs must be made at the shop or place designated in writing by Aiphone. Aiphone will not be responsible for any costs incurred
involving on site service calls. Aiphone will not provide compensation for any loss or damage incurred by the breakdown or
malfunction of its products during use, or for any consequent inconvenience or losses that may result.

• Attaching pullcord
For overhead mounting C-ML master station, attach the supplied
pullcord to the lever, which activates TALK switch.
• Adjusting communication volume
Adjust communication volume MIN to MAX as desired, using a
screwdriver. Chime tone is a fixed volume.

There is no need to disassemble
the unit from the back chassis.
1. Open the C-ML/A, pushing
bottom of front cover and
lifting off upward.
2. Connect 2 wires inside the unit.
1. Connect 2 wires on back of C-D.
2. Attach C-D unit to single-gang
box with 2 screws supplied.
IMPORTANT
When using a conduit between
the master and door station,
there is a possibility of feedback
(loud squeal caused by sound
traveling through the conduit).
To prevent this, put sponges
provided around connecting
cable and put them into conduit,
as shown. In addition, both
units should not be mounted on
a common wall back to back.

At door station;
To place a call, momentarily depress CALL button. 2-tone chime
sounds on the inside station. Muted chime is heard from the door
station. Speak into the door station handsfree.
At inside station;
When chime and voice is heard, depress TALK button to speak to the
person at the door. Release TALK button to listen.
Communication shuts off automatically in approx. 15 seconds after
TALK button is pressed. Press TALK button to recycle.
Cleaning
Clean the intercom unit with a soft cloth dampened with neutral
household cleanser. Never use any abrasive cleaner or cloth.
Caulking seals
Do not apply any caulking seals around door station. Water drainage
opening on bottom will help water or moisture to dissipate.
