availabletoday.Oxygenconcentratorsarethemostcost-effective,efficient,andsafestalternativetousinghigh-pressureoxygen
cylindersorliquidoxygen. Anoxygenconcentratorprovidesall theoxygenyouneedwithnocylinderorbottledeliveriesrequired.
Theairwebreathecontainsapproximately21%oxygen,78%nitrogen,and1%othergases.IntheFocusunit,roomairpassesthrough
aregenerative,adsorbentmaterialcalledmolecularsieve.Thismaterialseparatestheoxygenfromthenitrogen.Theresultisaflowof
high-concentrationoxygendeliveredtothepatient.
Focuscombinesadvancedoxygenconcentratortechnologywithoxygenconservingtechnologyfortheworld’ssmallestandlightest
portableoxygenconcentratoratjust 1.75 lb(0.8kg). Theunitefficientlyproducesitsownoxygen, andquicklydeliversitasapulse
ofoxygenattheverybeginning ofyourinhalation.Thiseliminatesthewasteassociatedwithacontinuousflowoxygendevice that
deliversoxygenevenwhileyouareexhaling.Focusproducestheequivalentof2LPM(litersperminute)continuousflowoxygen
inalightweightpackagethatpatientscanweareasilyawayfromthehome.

AirSep’sConcentratorsareintendedtosupplysupplementalOxygentouserssuffering fromdiscomfortduetoailmentswhich
affecttheefficiencyofoneslungstotransfertheoxygeninairtotheirbloodstream.POC’sprovidetheconvenienceofusinga
non-deliveryPOCsystemratherthandeliverysystem(O2tank)whichmakestheuserrelativelyself-sufficientintermsofin-homeuse,
ambulation(bothwithinandoutsideofthehome)mobilityandoveralllifestyle.OxygenConcentratoruserequiresaphysician’s
prescription, andisnotintendedforlifesupportuse.
AlthoughOxygentherapycanbeprescribedforpatientsofallagesthetypicaloxygentherapypatientisolderthan65 yearsof
ageandsuffersfromchronicobstructivepulmonarydisease(COPD).Patientstypicallyhavegoodcognitiveabilitiesandmust
beabletocommunicatediscomfort.Iftheuserisunabletocommunicatediscomfort,orunabletoreadandunderstandthe
concentratorlabeling andinstructionsforuse,thenuseisrecommendedonlyunderthesupervisionofonewhocan.Ifany
discomfortisfeltwhileusingtheconcentrator,patientsareadvisedtocontacttheirhealthcareprovider.Patientsarealso
advisedtohaveback-up oxygenavailable(i.e.cylinderoxygen)intheeventofapoweroutageorconcentratorfailure.There
arenootheruniqueskillsoruserabilitiesrequiredforconcentratoruse.
