Introducon
This manual applies to the DM750-2MP digital-integrated microscope and accessories. The informaon in this manual is
provided to help you familiarize yourself with the assembly and use of the products. Please read thoroughly before using
the products, and keep this manual with the product for reference.

Safety
Before using your AmScope microscope, please read the following safety precauons carefully to avoid causing damage to
your AmScope product, or injury to yourself or others.
Turn o power if the instrument exhibits unusual or dangerous behavior such as eming smoke or unusual odors. These
can be indicaons of electrical problems, in which case the instrument should be disconnected from any power source if
safe to do so. Other indicators can be a loud buzzing sound or crackling. Contact AmScope to report such behavior.
Do not use around ammable liquids or gases. Electric instruments can ignite ammable substances which could result
in an explosion or re.
Do not use in a wet environment. Electrical components of the instrument can discharge when exposed to water, poten-
ally resulng in damage to the instrument, or injury to yourself or others.
Only use the provided power adapter or authorized replacement. Incompable power adapters can cause damage to the
instrument. If you should lose the included power adapter, please contact AmScope for informaon about a replacement.
Do not dismantle. Dismantling can result in damage to the instrument, and potenal exposure to dangerous materials or
electric current.

Assembly
Aaching the Monitor
DM750-2MP-HDM11 models include a monitor which can be aached to the microscope’s stand. An arm is included
which should be aached to the stand’s 1.25” pillar. Secure the arm in place by using the locking knob before aaching
the monitor. The monitor’s rear panel has 4 threaded holes designed for VESA mounts. The arm’s mounng bracket only
uses the lower 2 holes. Use the included thumb screws to secure the monitor in place.
Aach one end of the included HDMI cable to the microscope’s HDMI port, and the other end to the monitor’s HDMI
port. Aach DC plug of the the monitor’s AC power adapter to the monitor’s power port, then plug the AC adapter into
a compable AC outlet. The monitor’s power buon is located on the lower poron of the bezel’s right side. Then the
monitor is powered on, the red LED on the lower-right corner of the front bezel will light up.

The Rear Panel
USB Ports
The microscope has two USB ports on its rear panel. These can be used to aach USB devices such as the included
mouse, a keyboard, and storage devices.
Wireless Mouse
The included mouse is required to navigate the microscope’s soware. A USB dongle will be inserted into a dummy slot
on the underside of the mouse. Remove the dongle, and insert it into an available USB port on the microscope. Locate
the power switch on the underside of the mouse, and move it to the “ON” posion.
Storage Devices
An external storage device is required to save photos and other les. This microscope is compable with various devices
including thumb drives and card readers. Compable storage devices will be automacally detected when aached.
HDMI Port
The HDMI port can be used to display video on compable monitors and televisions.
Power Port
Aach the DC plug of the microscope’s AC adapter into the power port, Plug the AC adapter into a compable AC outlet.
The microscope does not have a power switch, so unplug the AC adapter when the microscope is not in use.

The 3D Aachment
The oponal 3D aachment is designed to mount to the objecve lens’ housing. The 3D aachment’s mounng ring has
female threads which will screw onto the objecve housing’s male threads. Guide the 3D aachment’s mounng ring
upward onto the objecve housing, then rotate to the right using the knurled poron of the ring. Connue rotang unl
the ring is fully mounted. Do not applying excessive pressure, otherwise the aachment will be dicult to remove. When
securely mounted, the aachment’s slider should rotate freely.
The 3D aachment can be used to alter the angle-of-view, allowing you to view an object from oblique angles without
moving the object. The 3D aachment consists of a mounng ring and a slider. The slider can be posioned for normal
viewing or 3D viewing. The open posion removes the slider’s mirrors from the opcal path allowing you to view normal-
ly. The engaged posion places a mirror directly under the microscope’s objecve lens, relaying an oblique image from
the second mirror. When changing the posion of the slider, use the metal posioning rod to avoid contaminang the
mirrors. When engaged, the aachment can be rotated 270° without obstrucon. Use the posioning rod or an outer
edge of the slider when rotang to avoid contaminang the mirrors.

Operaon
Focusing
Each side of the microscope’s focusing block is equipped with a focusing knob. Rotang either knob will raise or lower
the microscope’s head.
Tension can be adjusted for the knobs by securing one in place, then rotang the other. Rotang clockwise will increase
tension, and counter-clockwise will decrease tension.
Magnicaon
Zoom Dial
The zoom dial controls the magnicaon of the microscope by adjusng the internal zoom mechanism. The dial can be
rotated in a connuous movement from the 0.7X seng to the 5X seng. Key magnicaons have detents (mechanical
catches) which allow the dial to “click” into place. This allows you to set magnicaons more precisely when performing
measurements. Rotang the dial clockwise will decrease the magnicaon, and rotang the dial counter-clockwise will
increase the magnicaon.

Opcal Magnicaon
This microscope uses a combinaon of a xed-magnicaon 1X objecve lens and zoom opcs to provide its 0.7X-5X
magnicaon range. This is the opcal magnicaon range which is typically listed. An addional 0.4X magnicaon
stage is used to compensate for the format of the digital image sensor. This document refers to this stage as integrated
reducon, since the purpose is to reduce the size of the image to beer t the specic image sensor. While this reduc-
on stage modies the overall magnicaon prior to being imaged, it is typically not referenced in listed magnicaons
due to its associaon with the image sensor. However, it should be used when calculang total system magnicaon as
described in the following secon about monitor magnicaon.
Monitor Magnicaon
Since the image displayed on the monitor is larger than the camera’s sensor, the monitor is considered to have its own
magnicaon referred to as monitor magnicaon. The magnicaon factor is calculated by dividing the diagonal of the
on-screen image by the diagonal of the camera’s sensor.

Total system magnicaon includes all of these factors, and can be calculated using the formula:
MOBJ x MRED x MMON = MTOT
where MOBJ is objecve magnicaon, MRED is integrated reducon, MMON is monitor magnicaon, and MTOT is total mag-
nicaon. The low and high magnicaons would be as follow:
0.7 x 0.4 x 46 = 12.88
5 x 0.4 x 46 = 92.0

Illuminaon
This microscope is equipped with an LED ring light to provide illuminaon. The ring light can be removed to expose the
objecve lens housing by simultaneously pulling downward on the le and right sides. When reaaching, be sure to align
the two electrical contact on the top of the ring light with the pins on the underside of the microscope head.
The ring light’s intensity is controlled by a wheel on the right side of the microscope. Rotang the wheel upward will
increase the intensity, and rotang downward will decrease intensity.

Soware
The DM750-2MP uses internal soware to manage camera and display sengs, as well as to perform image-capture and
measuring funcons. All of these funcons are accessed from the on-screen console.
Virtual Keyboard
Double-clicking on text elds will display a virtual keyboard which can be used to enter text and numbers.
The Control Panel
The Control panel provides controls for manipulang camera sengs and for capturing and saving images.
Panel Funcon Descripon
Exposure can be set to automac or manual modes. When Auto Exposure is
acve, the Brightness control is available. When Manual Exposure is acve,
Gain and Exposure Time controls are available.
Brightness is used to increase or decrease the image’s overall brightness as
set by the automac exposure funcon.
Gain is used to increase or decrease the image brightness by adjusng the
camera’s sensivity.
Exposure me is used to increase or decrease the image brightness by adjust-
ing the duraon over which the image is captured
Enable Auto Exposure for automated control of exposure sengs
Enable Manual Exposure to manually adjust exposure sengs
Color sengs are used to manually adjust the proporonal Red, Green, and
Blue levels of the RGB image.
Enable Auto White Balance for automated control of color set-
ngs
Enable Manual White Balance to manually adjust color sengs
Contrast: use the slider to adjust the image’s contrast
Sharp: use the slider to adjust the image’s sharpness
Saturaon: use the slider to adjust the image’s color saturaon
Zoom: use the slider increase or decrease the microscope’s digital zoom
Flip: invert image vercally
Mirror: invert image horizontally
WDR: adjust the compression level of colors to improve detail in overexposed
or underexposed areas.
Gamma: use the slider to adjust the image’s Gamma level
50 Hz / 60 Hz: This seng should match the AC power source to prevent
icker.
B&W: Use this seng to convert the image to grayscale.

Panel Funcon Descripon
Select the color of the on-screen guides.
Display or hide on-screen guides. Opons include Cross Line
which creates a grid using a user-dened number of horizontal
and vercal lines, and Cross Mark which displays a recle with
horizontal and vercal rulers.
Captures a photo
Starts and stops video recording
Browse and open saved photos and videos.
Opens a saved image into a split screen for the purpose of com-
paring with the live image. Click and hold the comparison image
to adjust its posion.
Freezes the live image
Prex is used for automac le naming. The prex will be followed by a nu-
meric sequence.
Format selects the le type to be used when saving images. Available opons
are JPG and BMP.
Naming determines whether le names will be generated automacally using
the user-dened prex, or manually. If manual is selected, you will be prompt-
ed for a le name aer each image is captured.
Save Graphics determines whether on-screen graphics including measure-
ments will be saved in image les.

Calibraon
The calibraon secon is used to create magnicaon proles. A magnicaon prole denes the relaonship between
camera pixels and real units of measure such as millimeters. Once this relaonship is dened, any shape drawn on the
screen will provide accurate measurements by translang the number of pixels into the desired unit of measure.
Calibraon Tool
The calibraon tool has three opons: Line Calibraon, H Calibraon, and Circle Calibraon.
Proles
Proles are saved aer the calibraon process, and can be selected for use with the corresponding magnicaons to
perform accurate measurement funcons.
Units
Units denes the measurement unit to be displayed when performing measuring funcons.
Line and H Calibraon
Both the Line Calibraon and H Calibraon tools funcon in the same manner. The H Calibraon tool adds perpendicu-
lar lines to each end of the drawn line. To perform the calibraon process, a ruler will be needed for reference. For low
magnicaons, a ruler with millimeter graduaons is usually adequate. For high magnicaons, a ruler with ner gradu-
aons may be needed, such as a micrometer slide. Place the ruler under the microscope’s lens so it can be viewed on the
screen. The ruler needs to be in clear focus with mulple, clearly-disnguishable graduaons visible on the screen.
Click on the ruler icon in the main panel’s calibraon secon. Using this tool, a line will be drawn over the image of the
ruler. Click the le mouse buon to create the rst anchor point. As the cursor is moved, a line will be displayed. The line
should span as many readable graduaons as possible, and should be parallel to the ruler’s edge to improve the preci-
sion. Move the cursor along the image of the ruler unl it has spanned an adequate number of graduaons, then click
the le mouse buon again to create the second anchor point. A popup window will be displayed. Enter a name for the
prole, the length of the measurement, and the current magnicaon. If you are not using a keyboard, double-click on
each appropriate eld to enable the on-screen keyboard. Once nished with the calibraon, click on any measurement
tool to use the prole.
Once saved, the prole will be listed in the main panel’s drop-down selector. With the prole selected, you can select the
desired unit of measure to display on-screen measurements in that unit.
Calibraon by Circle
This calibraon is similar to line calibraon, except it uses a circle which can be useful when referencing premeasured
diameters. Click the le mouse buon to create the rst anchor point on the edge of the reference circle. As the cursor is
moved, a line will be displayed. Move the cursor to the opposite side of the circle, then click the le mouse buon again
to create the second anchor point. A circle will now be displayed. Move the cursor to enlarge or reduce the size of the
circle. Once the circle is properly sized, click the le mouse buon. A popup window will be displayed. Enter a name for
the prole, the length of the measurement, and the current magnicaon. If you are not using a keyboard, double-click
on each appropriate eld to enable the on-screen keyboard. Once nished with the calibraon, click on any measure-
ment tool to use the prole.
Once saved, the prole will be listed in the main panel’s drop-down selector. With the prole selected, you can select the
desired unit of measure to display on-screen measurements in that unit.
