3 PRESENTATION
TheMaxibenchdowndratableisaself-contained,intermient-dutydustcollector,designedasa
workstaonforgrinding,polishing,handsandinganddrybungapplicaons.
Direct-drive,fanprovides200fpmminimumfacevelocityacrossthepunchedsteelworksurface
designedtoholdupto50-lbpersquarefoot.Hingedsidepanelsopentoaccommodatelargerwork
piecesandmanuallyoperatedpulsecleaningallowson-demandltercleaning.

Combusblematerialssuchasbunglint,paper,wood,metaldusts,
weldfume,orammablecoolantsorsolventsrepresentpotenalre
and/orexplosionhazards.Usespecialcarewhenselecng,installing,
andoperangalldust,fume,ormistcolleconequipmentwhensuch
combusblematerialsmaybepresentinordertoprotectworkersand
propertyfromseriousinjuryordamageduetoareand/orexplosion.

onnuisancedustgeneratedinindustrialoperaons,suchasgrinding,
bungandpolishing,andhand-sandingoperaons.
TheDowndraBenchhasabaeandlterthatlimitsparcles
fromdirectlyimpingingwiththelter,reducingtheriskoflterdamage.

Light-dutyhandsandingonly.Avoidapplicaonswith

5 INSTALLATION

 Compareunitreceivedwithdescriponofproductordered.
6. Reportincompleteshipmentstothedeliverycarrierandyou’reA.Q.Crepresentave.
 Removecratesandshipping straps.Remove loosecomponents andaccessory packages
beforeliingunitfromtruck.
 Checkforhardwarethatmayhaveloosenedduringshipping.
 Usecauonremovingtemporarycovers.
  
Theunitshouldbelocatedonasecure,levelsurfacecapableofsupporngtheweightoftheunit
andtheweightofmaterialsplacedontheunit.
TheMAXIBENCHisaself-containedunitandrequiresnospecialinstallaonaccommodaons.
  
WARNING!
Theelectricalconneconmustbeperformedbyacered
electricianandbyfollowingthelocalbuildingrulesand
regulaons.Forsafetymeasure,disconnectallelectrical
powerpriortoinstallaon.
 Maketheelectricalconneconstothecustomersuppliedsafetydisconnectswitch,blower,
andblowerstarter.
 TurnpowerONatsource.
 TurntheblowermotorONthenOFFtocheckforproperrotaonbyreferencingtherotaon
arrowlocatedontheblowerhousing.Ablowerrunninginthewrongdireconwillslldeliver
approximately40%ofitsratedairvolumemakingproperrotaonextremelyimportant.
      Follow manufacturer’s instrucons on the
motor’snameplate.

onthefrontoftable.
• Asolenoid-operatedairvalvedischargesalargeblastofairthroughtheltercartridgeon
automacmodels.
• Reversepulsedislodgingparclesembeddedintheltermedia.
• If MAXIBENCH is equipped with the oponal manually operated reverse pulse cleaning
system,compressed.Thisisdonebydepressingabluebuonatthefrontofthetable.
  
Supply80-90psiofdrycompressedairtothebackoftheunit.
• Quickdisconnectsandorotherconneconsaretobesuppliedbyenduser.
• Installaonofanairdryerisrecommended.Moistureinyourairlinecandamagelter.

• Foropmalperformance,itisrecommendedthatpulsingsequencesshouldbeperformed3
mesadayontablesinOFFmode.
Note:Neglecngtopulseyourlterregularlywillreducelterlife.
  
TheMAXIBENCHisequippedwithoponalrightandle,li-ohingedsidepanels.Openorremove
panelswhenworkingwithitemstoolargeorawkwardfortheworksurface.Keepthepanelsclosed
undernormaloperangcondions.
  
  
Beforestarngthecollectorfortherstme,thestepslistedbelowshouldbefollowedtoensure
thecollectorwillworkproperly.
 Removeallobjectsinthevicinityofcollectorinletandoutlet.
 Checkforproperinstallaonofallaccessoriesandoponalequipment.
 Checkthatallremotecontrolsarewiredintothecontrolsystem,andallserviceswitchesare
intheOFFposion.
 Checkthatalloponalaccessoriesareinstalledproperlyandsecured.
 TurnpowerONatsource.
 TurnthefanmotorONthenOFFtocheckforproperrotaonbyreferencingtherotaon
arrowlocatedonthemotor’smounngplate.

• Oncetheelectrical&pneumacconneconsaremade,unitisreadyforstart-up.
• Oncetheunithasbeenturnedoallowfor30secondsofdownme.Makesurecompressed
airishookedup.
• Turnunitoandpressthebluebuontoacvatethecleaningsystem.
• Priortooperang,theunitshouldrunfreelyfor10-15minutes.
  
  
All maintenance sta should wear protecve clothing or apparatus such as goggles, gloves,
breathingequipmentorsuchdevicesbeforeworkinginsidethecollector.
  
Toavoidinjuries,allelectricalcomponentsmustbeshutopriortoinspeconorservicingtheunit.
Thisprocedureincludesgengaccesstotheltersecon.
  
Ifstoreddustshaveanexplosionorammableriskoncestoredinduststoragecompartment,an
explosionreliefvenngsystemorareexnguishingdeviceisnecessary.Shouldyouhaveany
doubtconcerningltereddusts,contactA.Q.C.oritsrepresentave.
8 MAINTENANCE

Electricalinstallaonmustbeperformedbyaqualiedelectricianandcomplywithallapplicable
naonalandlocalcodes.
Turnpoweroandlockoutelectricalpowersourcesbeforeperformingserviceormaintenance
work.
Donotinstallinclassiedhazardousatmosphereswithoutanenclosureratedfortheapplicaon.
WARNING!
Donotlookintofanoutlettodeterminerotaon.Viewthefan
rotaonthroughthebackofthemotor.Checkthattheexhaust
plenumisfreeoftoolsordebrisbeforecheckingblower/fan
rotaon.Standclearofexhausttoavoidpersonalinjury.

 Monitor the physical condion of the collector and repair or replace any damaged
components.Rouneinspeconswillminimizedownmeandmaintainopmumsystem
performance. This is parcularly important on connuous duty applicaons. With the
compressedairsupplyON,checkthecleaningvalves,solenoidvalves,andtubingforleaks.
Replaceasnecessary.
 Monitorpressuredropacrosslters.Abnormalchangesinpressuredropindicateachange
inoperangcondionsandpossiblyafaulttobecorrected.
 Monitorexhaust.
 Monitordustdisposal.
  
Thelterspulsingsystemisasuccessfulwaytocleanthelter.Filterlifeisincreasedifsystemis
pulsedregularlyaccordingtousage.Overaperiodofme,avisualinspeconoradecreaseinair
owmayindicatethatthelterberemovedfromthetableformanualcleaning.
Tomanuallycleanthelteroutsidethetable,followthesesteps:
• Opencoversontherightsideofthetableandslideoutlters.
• Removelter.Theltershouldthenbeheldatitshorizontalposionsoastobetappedfor
removalofdebris.Thisproceduremaybedonedirectlyoverawastebagforeasydisposal.
• Blowcompressedairthroughthelterinthereversedireconofairow.Thisshouldbe
doneattheexterioroftheshop(room)orinawell-venlatearea.
• Donotwetorcleanthecartridgewithanyliquid,asitmaycausetheformingofunwanted
blockageontheltermedia.Theltermaybeweakenedcausingperforaonstothemedia
andulmatelydamageoftheblower.
• Thelterneedstobereplacedperiodically.Thelterlifecanrangefrom6to18months
dependingonmanyfactorsrangingfromtypeofapplicaon,density,parclesize,humidity,
oil,etc…
  
• Thedustdrawershouldbeempedperiodically.Performvisualinspeconsduringtherst
fewweeksofoperaontodetermineproperdumpingcycle.
• Periodicallyinspectthegaskettoensurepropersealing.Replaceifneeded.

• Sparkbaetrayscanbeuseddry,withwaterorsanddependingonthetable’sapplicaon.
Onceaweekavisualinspeconshouldbedoneandtraysemped.
• Sludgemayformuponcontactofdirtanddustandshouldberemovedbeforehardening.
Removalofsludgemaybeperformedwithaspatula,andthenthepanscanbehoseddown.
• Handleanycontaminantspresentinthetraysimilarlytowaterorsludge.Pressurewashwith
hotwater&detergentifneeded.
Note: Useofwaterinthesparkbaetrayisnotsuitableforallapplicaons.
  
Followthesenextstepstocleanorreplacethealuminumsparktraplter.
Note:ThesparktraplterisanimportantcomponentoftheMaxibenchunit.Avoidhavingthis
componentmayresultinareintheltercartridge.
 Removethepunchedsteelworksurfaceandthetrays.
 Removethealuminumsparkstraplter.
3. Washorbrushawaydirtinthelter.Ensureyoudonotdamagethemeshfabric.
 Proceedwithavisualinspeconfortearsorrips.Replaceifnecessary.Putlterbackinplace.
9 MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION
