Pivongextensionpivotswingboomsaredesignedtoextendtheworkingareaoflocalextracon
devices.Theymakeitpossibletoreachareaswhereimpuriesarebeingcreatedwith,forexample,
aself-supporngarm,exiblehoses,hosereelsetc.
Duetoawiderangeofreaches,theboomsareespeciallyusefulfortheextraconofdustorgas
impuriesfromdiculttoreachareas.
Addionallytheboomscanbeusedtosuspendotherequipmentsuchasweldingwirefeeders,
hosereelsetc.withintherangeofpermissibleloads.

Duringnormaloperaon,theMAXIREACHswingboomispulledorpushedintoposionforsource
capturetovacuumdustorsmokeladenairintotheaachedequipmentsuchastheMAXAIRfume
arm.Parclesarevacuumedintotheequipmenttowardanexhaustfanandintoadustcollector
orexhaustedoutside(whenpermied).
  
The MAXIREACHswingboomisdesignedtoremovefumes,gasesordustfromtheairresulng
fromafabricaonprocess.EachMAXIREACHswingboomisbuiltasperthecriteriaandinformaon
suppliedbythecustomerforaspecicapplicaonandshouldnotserveanyotherapplicaon
withouttheapprovalofA.Q.C.Inc.
The MAXIREACHswingboomisshippedpartlyassembledbutrequiresminimalnaleldassembly.
Becauseofcarrierrestricons,swingboomshorizontalsteeltubeslongerthan10'(3meters)are
shippedintwo(2)pieces.Ajoinerwithfastenersisincludedforeldassembly.
The Maxireach swing boom is shipped partly
assembled but requires minimal final field
assembly. Because of carrier restrictions, swing
booms horizontal steel tubes longer than 10’
(3 meters) are shipped in two (2) pieces.
A joiner with fasteners is included for field
assembly.

The MAXIREACHswingisshippedpartlyassembledorinsecons.Proceedwithavisualinspecon
uponreceivingthematerialandcheckforanyapparentdamagethatmayhaveoccuredonfreight.
Generally,shipmentincludestheboombase,horizontaltubes,spiralductandexiblehose.Other
oponalcomponentssuchasfumearms,hosereelsorhosedropsmaybedeliveredonseparate
skids.
  
 Thewallorcolumnwheretheswingboomwillbeinstalledshouldbeabletosupportthe
weight of such along with the accessories and / or aached equipment. Such support
structureshouldbelevelfortheswingboomtoremainsteadywhennotinuse.
 Thespanorreachoftheswingboomshouldnotbeencumberedbyoverheadcranes,lighng,
jigsoranyotherequipment.
 Installtheswingboominawaytohaveaccesstothelevellingpullrod,fricondisksorany
otherequipmentthatmayrequirescheduledmaintenance.
 Iftheswingboomissuppliedwithoponalequipment,refer to the proper manual for
installaonandguidance.
  

Installaonofswingboomandoponalequipmentwill
requirealiingdevice.Suchliingdevicewillneedtostay
inplaceandholdhorizontalsteeltubeunlallequipmentis
installed.Itisadvisedtouseaworkplaormathorizontal
steeltubeleveltoperformworkaroundtheunit.Liing
devicewillberequiredfornaladjustmentandtolevel
horizontalswingboomappropriately.

Othertoolsmayberequired.Itisadvisedtoobtainservicesfromaqualiedcontractorwith
appropriateequipmentforproperinstallaon.
  
1. Preparetheareawheretheswingboomwillbeinstalledmakingsureitisclearandfreeof
anyobstacle.
2. Installboombaseatappropriateorspeciedheight.Itissuggestedtouseminimumgrade
5fastenerstosupportboombaseonsupportstructure.Boombasemayalsobeweldedto
supportstructurewhenpermied.Boombasehastobeinstalledlevel(horizontally
andvercally)toprevent"coasng"ofhorizontalsteeltube.

 Oncetheboombaseissecuredtosupportstructure,
align horizontal steel tube (#7) to pivot joint (#3)
boombasepivot supportbracket.Remove fricon
disks(#10)andsteelpin(#13)fromboombasepivot
bracket.
 Slidehorizontalsteeltubepivotseconintoboom
basepivotbracket.NOTE:Donotaempttoremove
pivotbushings(#12)frompivotjoint.
 Insert one (1) fricon disk (#10) over the pivot
seconandone(1)underthepivotsecon.Insert
steelpressureplate(#9)overthetopfricondisk,
sandwichedbetweenthefricondiskandtheboom
basetopofpivotbracket.
6. Usingaspike,alignholesoffricondisksandpressure
platetopivotassembly,readyforsteelpininseron.
NOTE:Ensurepressureplategroovesarealignedwith
holesontoppartofpivotboombasesupportsecon.
 Removecoerpinfromsteelpin(#13).Insertsteel
pin from underneath boom base pivot support
bracketunlcompletelythrough.Securewithcoer
pin.
 Temporarilysecurethesteelpressureplatebyslightly
screwingthe(2)screws(#29)intosteelpressureplate
grooves.
 Removelastnutandwasherfromthreadedendof
pull rod. Insert pull rod threaded secon into pull
rod horizontal support bracket (#9a) about 12"
(30cms)intothebracket.

ange.

 Removefricondisksandfastenersfromhorizontal
steeltubemiddlepivotbracket.
 Slidemiddlepivotassemblyintopivotbracket.
 Insert(1)fricondisk(#10)overandunderthepivot
secon.
 Using a spike, align holes of fricon disks to pivot
assembly,readyforfastenersinseron.
5. Insert bolt and washer from the top of assembly
and aach with nut and washer underneath pivot
assembly.
 Usingthehoseclampssupplied,fastenexiblehose
fromspiralpipesecontomiddlesecon.
  

MAXIREACH extension swing booms are supplied with
one (1) duct companion ange. By factory standards,
companionangeisinstalledontheupper(top)partofthe
boombase.Fieldmodicaontohavecompanionange
installedattheboomisasfollows;
 Remove duct companion ange from upper boom

 Priortoinstallingthefan,ensuredireconofductworkconnectedtofanoutletwillnotcome
indirectcontactwithobstaclessuchasoverheadcranes,lightxtures,etc.Usageofelbows
orbendsareallowed.
 Installfanonboombaseusingthefasteners.Boltpaernon1HPfaninletmatch6"boom
baseangesand2HPfaninletmatches8"boombaseange.
 Connectexhaustductworktofanoutlet.
Note:ifa2HPfan(8"inlet)isusedwitha6"diameterswingboom,installerwillneedtosupplyan
osetbendsuchasdrawingbelowinorderforfanscrolltoclearsupportwallorcolumn.A.Q.C.
maysupplyosetifspecied.

RefertotheSafetyseconpriortoproceedingwithany
maintenanceorinspeconontheextensionswingboom.

13.1 Coverage: AireauQualityControlInc.oritsdesignatedaliate(the"Seller")sellingtheproduct
(the"Product"),warrantsthattheProductsoldbySellerwillbefreefromdefectsinmaterialand
workmanshipforaperiodof12monthsfromthedateofitsinstallaonor14monthsfromthe
dateofshipmentbySeller,whicheverdateisearlier(the"WarrantyPeriod").
13.2 Excepons: ThiswarrantydoesnotapplytoanyProductorporonthereofthat:(i)hasbeenused
inamannernotincompliancewithSeller’sormanufacturer’sdocumentaonandinstrucons,(ii)
hashadchanges,alteraonsorrepairsmadebyapersonotherthanapersonauthorizedbySeller,
(iii)hasbeenimproperlyinstalledorusedorhasbeeninstalledorusedcontrarytoapplicable
codes,standards,lawsandregulaons,(iv)hasbeensubjectedtoimproperstorage,accident,
neglect,misuseorabuse,(v)hasbeendamagedduringshipping,(vi)hasbeensubjecttodamages
resulngfromnormalwearandtear,(vii)hasnotbeenusedwithappropriatereprotecon
systemsorexplosionvenngwhenrequiredor(viii)hasnotbeeninstalledbyalicensedcontractor
withexperienceinreandexplosionhazardsandapplicablecodes,lawsandregulaons.For
greatercertainty,thiswarrantydoesnotapplytolterssoldaspartof,orforusewith,theProduct.
UnlessspecicallyacceptedotherwiseinwringbySeller,Sellerdoesnotwarrantthatelectrical
equipmentwillcomplywithanylawsorregulaonsofthecustomer’sjurisdicon.
13.3 Claims: Tobenetfromthiswarranty,customermustnofySellerinwringoftheProductdefect,
whichnoceshallincludeareasonabledescriponofthedefect,within10daysfromthedatesuch
defectisdiscoveredoroughttohavebeendiscovered.
13.4 Remedy: DuringtheWarrantyPeriodandsubjecttothetermsherein,Sellerwill,atitsopon,
either:(i)repairorreplacetheProductoranydefecvepartsorcomponents(exceptforlters)
withProduct,partsorcomponents(exceptlters)freefromdefector(ii)creditorrefundthe
purchasepriceoftheProduct.IfSellersorequests,customermustreturnthedefecveProductto
Seller’splaceofbusinessdeterminedbySeller.Shipping,installaon,removalandre-installaon
costswillbesolelybornebythecustomer.



oruseoftheProductmayresultinreorexplosion.Tominimizesuchrisks,properinstallaon,
operaon,andmaintenanceoftheProductinaccordancewithallapplicablecodes,standards,laws
andregulaonsiscrical.Priortoinstallaonanduse,customershallensurethattheProductmeets
theapplicablecodes,lawsandregulaons,includingthoserelatedtotheaddionofappropriate
reproteconsystemsorexplosionvenng.Installaonshallbeperformedbyalicensedcontractor
withexperienceinreandexplosionandapplicablecodes,lawsandregulaons.

 15.1 ThetermshereinconstutetheonlywarrantygivenbySellerwithrespecttotheProduct.No
othertermsandcondions,whetherincludedonapurchaseorderorinanyotherdocument,shall
applyorbindtheSellerwithrespecttotheProductwarrantyandallsuchtermsandcondionsand
documentsareexpresslydisclaimed.

 16.1 ThesewarrantytermswillbegovernedbyandconstruedunderthelawsinforceintheProvince
ofOntario,Canada,excludingitsconictoflawrules.
