QVoice Companion is a powerful, versatile
and compact system for cellular network Bench-
marking and Optimization. It is one of the high-
lights of the Symphony range of systems from
Ascom.
Within the small physical package of a notebook computer and mul-
tiple test phones, the functions available are amazing:

Benchmarking
Performances of different networks can be compared, by using the
Companion with mobile-mobile connections, or in combination with other
QVoice system components for mobile-fixed tests. Synchronized test calls
can be made in different networks using Nokia/Samsung/Sagem test
phones.
Optimization
The unrivalled MMI/GUI shows the network engineer all the necessary
radio information for network tuning, including replay of earlier test data
while the tests are still running. Scanner can also be used to complement
Quality of Service measurements.
Post Processing
In addition to examining the measured data on the Companion MMI/
GUI in the field, detailed analysis and reports/statistics can be obtained from
the QVP – a post processing tool with map displays, radio message details,
reports and SQL queries from the database. Post processing can run on the
same notebook as the Companion.

The Companion is easy to use in many different applications:
For Walkabouts
The whole Companion system is cleverly packaged in a backpack, with
self-contained batteries for independent operation. This package has al-
ways been the winner for users testing in pedestrian areas, airports, sports
stadiums, etc., in fact anywhere your subscribers make calls.
For Driving and Lab Testing
The same Companion system can be supplied with a housing for the
test phones, making a neat and tidy package for mounting in vehicles, in
stationary testing or easy transit between vehicles and locations.
For the Globe Trotter
The network engineer can travel with ease, knowing that his favour-
ite system is contained in the specially designed Companion travelling
case to go wherever he wants.

The All-In-One System
The QVoice Compact package has all the good things in cellular testing
under one roof. It consists of the Companion with test phones, plus the post
processing tool QVP – all running on the same notebook. This all-in-one
system enables the user to measure with the Companion, and then store,
analyse, and report or extract data with SQL queries using the QVoice
Presentation.
