Installing your router
IMPORTANT:Beforeinstallingtherouter,ensurethatInternetconnec-
tionisavailable.
1. Position your wireless router.
For optimal wireless transmission between the wireless router and connected
wirelessdevices,ensurethatyou:
• Placethewirelessrouterinacentralizedareaforamaximumwirelesscoverage
forthenetworkdevices.
• Keepthewirelessrouterawayfrommetalobstructionsandawayfromdirect
sunlight.
• Keepthewirelessrouterawayfrom802.11gor20MHzonlyWi-Fidevices,
2.4GHzcomputerperipherals,Bluetoothdevices,cordlessphones,transformers,
heavy-dutymotors,uorescentlights,microwaveovens,refrigerators,andother
industrialequipmenttopreventsignalinterferenceorloss.

Quick Internet Setup (QIS) with Auto-detection
TheQuickInternetSetup(QIS)functionguidesyouinquicklysettingupyour
Internet connection.
NOTE:WhensettingtheInternetconnectionforthersttime,press
theResetbuttononyourwirelessroutertoresetittoitsfactorydefault
settings.
To use QIS with auto-detection:
1. LogintotheWebGUI.TheQISpagelaunchesautomatically.
NOTES:
• Bydefault,theloginusernameandpasswordforyourwireless
router'sWebGUIisadmin.
• Thewirelessrouter'sloginusernameandpasswordisdierentfrom
the2.4GHz/5GHznetworkname(SSID)andsecuritykey.Thewireless
router'sloginusernameandpasswordallowsyoutologintoyour
wirelessrouter'sWebGUItocongureyourwirelessrouter'ssettings.

Connect to the wireless network
Therearetwowaysforyourwirelessclients(notebook,tabletPC,smartphone
andsoon)toconnecttoRT-AC3100’swirelessnetwork.
Connect to the wireless network manually
Toconnecttothewirelessnetworkmanually:
1. EnabletheWi-Fifunctiononyourwirelessclienttoscanforavailablewireless
networks.
2. SelecttheSSIDornetworknamethatyouassignedtoyourRT-AC3100’s
network.
3. Enter the password and click Connect.
Connect to the wireless network through WPS
RT-AC3100hasaWPS(Wi-FiProtectedSetup)buttonforyoutoconnectyour
wirelessclienttoRT-AC3100snetworkwithoutenteringpassword.
ToconnecttothewirelessnetworkthroughWPS:
1. PresstheWPSbuttonatthebackofRT-AC3100.RefertothesectionA quick
look for the location of the WPS button).
2. PresstheWPSbuttonofyourwirelessclientwithintwominutesorfollowthe
WPSinstructionsthatcamewiththewirelessclient.Whenconnectingvia
WPS,theWPSLEDonyourrouterblinksfast.
3. Waituntilyourrouter’sWPSLEDturnsintoasolidlightindicatingasuccess-
fullyconnectionbetweenyourrouterandyourwirelessclient.

After following the steps, I still cannot access the wireless router’s web
graphics user interface (web GUI) to congure the wireless router settings.
EnsurethatyourPC'sproxysettingsaredisabledandyourPC'SIPaddressis
obtainedfromtheDHCPserverautomatically.fordetailsondisablingtheproxy
settings,visittheASUSSupportsiteathttp://support.asus.com. For details

not possible - the Router is unable to establish a connection with the ADSL
