I. General introduction:
ATC-107N PhotoelectricIsolation InterfaceConverter
iscompatible withRS-232C, RS-422, RS-485standards
andcapableof convertingsingleendRS-232 signal into
RS-422orRS-485signalof balanced difference.The
built inphotoelectric isolator canoffer3500V isolation
voltageandthegrade 2rapidTransientVoltage
Suppressor(TVS)caneffectivelyinhibit lightningand
ESD, provide1000Wlightning strikeandsurge
protectionpower on eachlineandprevent lightning
strikeand commoncodeinterference.ConnectPC, IPC,
orportablecomputer viaaDB9femaleconnector at
RS-232interface,and connectRS-422,RS-485endvia
convenient6-bit plug-interminal. TheRS-485 supports
dual-linehalf duplex,namely,the only two linesof
RS-485shall both send andreceivedata.Handshake
signal(e.g. RTS, Request ToSend) usually controlsthe
datadirection.Theinnercircuit ofATC-107N
Photoelectric IsolationInterfaceConverter candetect
datadirectionandswitch to controlit automatically,
conveniently toformaRS-485networkwithoutany
shake handsignal. Thiskindof RS-485control isfully
transparentand needno software amendmentfor the
formerworkingmodes basing on RS-232.
ATC-107N PhotoelectricIsolationInterfaceConverter
canprovidecredible connectionforpoint topoint, point
tomulti-pointcommunication. Thepoint tomulti-point
allows connecting 128RS-422orRS-485interface
deviceswith data transmission speed of0-115.2KBPS.
The3power supply anddataflow indicationlight can
indicatemalfunction. It supports communicationmodes
includingRS-232C toRS-422,RS-232to RS-485
conversion.

inner conversionofATC-107N interfaceconverter has
adopted theself-adapting, the user neednot change any
settingwhencompleting RS-232 toRS-422/485 conversion
and candirectly connect device accordingto RS-422/485
interface definition.

externalpowersupply.Itcanadopttheproduct s9V
poweradapterforpower supplyor adopt powerfrom
other DCpoweror device.The power supply voltage
is+9---+24V,current 200mA.Itcannot common
groundwith RS-232 interfacetoavoid affectingthe
photoelectricisolationeffectinside ATC-107N Photoelectric
Isolation Interface Converter.
2. Surge grounding protection:
Commoninterfaceconverterhasnolargeenergy
protector.Thetransienthighvoltageinducedininterface
datalinetriestoreleaseenergytothegroundwire viathe
minimum resistanceroute ofthe deviceandthus caneasily
causedamagetointerfaceparts. ATC-107N Photoelectric

strikeandsurgeprotectionpower oneachline.Therapid
TransientVoltage Suppressor (TVS) can effectivelyinhibit
