SECTION 1 INTRODUCTION
The BS/BSIseries of weighing/waterproof scales provides an accurate, fast and
versatile series of general purpose waterproof weighing scales. There are 4 models
of scales within the range. Platform size is 190mm x 230mm, capacity range from
3kg to 15kg.
All the keypads are sealed, color coded membrane switches and the displays are
large easy to read liquid crystal type displays (LCD). The LCD’s are optional with a
backlight. The scale can have two displays(rear display is optional).
All units include tare, zero, change weighing unit.

SECTION 3 INSTALLATION
3. 1 GENERAL INSTALLATION
The scales should be sited in a location that will not degrade the accuracy.
Avoid extremes of temperature. Do not place in direct sunlight or near air conditioning
vents.
Avoid unsuitable tables. The tables or floor must be rigid and not vibrate. Do not
place near vibrating machinery.
Avoid unstable power sources. Do not use near large users of electricity such as
welding equipment or large motors.
Avoid high humidity that might cause condensation. Do not immerse the scales in
water.
Avoid air movement such as from fans or opening doors. Do not place near open
windows.
Keep the scales clean.
Do not stack material on the scales when they are not in use.
3.2 INSTALLATION of BS/BSI SERIES
BS/BSIseries waterproof scales use AC adapter and rechargeable battery powered.
Please attention the power source voltage accord with the mark of the adapter.
AC adapter socket at the bottom the scale, you can overturn the scale before you
charging the battery.

SECTION 6 OPERATION
6.1 Zeroing The Display
You can press the ZERO key at any time to set the zero point from which all other
weighing, within 2% of power up zero. This will usually only be necessary when the
platform is empty. When the zero point is obtained the display will show the indicator
for zero.
The scale has an automatic rezeroing function to account for minor drifting or
accumulation of material on the platform. However you may need to press the ZERO
key to rezero the scale if small amounts of weight are shown when the platform is
empty.
Note: if current weight more then 20% of capacity, Zero function will disable.
6.2 Taring
Zero the scale by pressing the ZERO key if necessary. The zero indicator will be on.
Place a container on the platform, a value for its weight will be displayed.
Press the TARE/UNIT key to tare the scale. The weight that was displayed is stored
as the tare value and that value is subtracted from the display, leaving zero on the
display. The "NET" indicator will be on. As product is added only the weight of the
product will be shown. The scale could be tared a second time if another type of
product was to be added to the first one. Again only the weight that is added after
taring will be displayed.
When the container is removed a negative value will be shown. If the scale was tared
just before removing the container this value is the gross weight of the container plus
all product that was removed. The zero indicator will also be on because the platform
is back to the same condition it was when the ZERO/ENTER key was last pressed.
6.3 Change weighing unit
Hold TARE/UNIT for 4 seconds will change weighing unit, relevant weighing unit
mark turn on(kg or u2)

7.1 Enter setting mode
The scale has 10 parameters that can be set by the user plus a method of entering
the calibration section.
To set parameters or calibration, hold TARE/UNIT key ,then press ON/OFF key ,untill
it shows F0 CAL .
7.2 Calibrate
After enter setting mode, the display will show the first function, "F0 CAL". press
TARE/UNIT key, display shows “UNLOAD”, empty the platter, after STABLE indicator
on, press TARE/UNIT key again, display shows the calibrate weight, you can press
ZERO key to select calibrate weight, after you select, press TARE/UNIT key, display
shows “LOAD”, put the calibrate weight on the pan , after STABLE indicator on, press
TARE key to sure, display shows “PASS”, after BS/BSI selfchecking again, and is
ready for you.
7.3 Change division
After enter setting mode, the display shows “F0 CAL”, press ZERO key, display
shows “F1 INC”, press TARE/UNIT key to enter, press ZERO key to select
division(range 0.5/1/2), press TARE/UNIT key to sure, press ZERO key and
TARE/UNIT key at the same time to escape.
7.4 Check internal counts
After enter setting mode, display shows “F0 CAL”, press ZERO key twice, display
shows “F2 INP”, press TARE/UNIT key to enter, display shows internal counts, press
TARE/UNIT key and ZERO key at the same time to escape.
7.5 Set backlight mode
After enter setting mode, display shows “F0 CAL”, press ZERO key three times,
display shows “F3 BK”, press TARE/UNIT key to enter, press ZERO key change
backlight mode(AU: automatic, OFF: off, ON: on), press TARE/UNIT key and ZERO
key at the same time to escape.
7.6 Set unit
After enter setting mode, display shows “F0 CAL”, press ZERO key four times,
display shows “F4 unt” , press ZERO key to change the second Unit.(g: gram, TL:
Taiwanese liang, lb: ounce)
7.7 Set sleep time
After enter setting mode, display shows “F0 CAL”, press ZERO key five times,
display shows “F5 OFF”, press ZERO key to change the time for sleep .(range
0,3,5,10,20 minute)

shows “F6 CAP”, press TARE key, display show “pin---“, waiting for input password,
press TARE key and ZERO key to input password (TARE key for increase value,
ZERO key for move active digit), default password is “315”, after input correct
password, display will show capacity, press TARE key to change(option: 3kg, 6kg,
15kg, 25kg), press ZERO key to sure
7.9 Auto zero range
After enter setting mode, display shows “F0 CAL”, press ZERO key seven times,
display shows “F7 Azn”, press TARE key, the parameters will set the auto zero
range.(option: 0.5d/1d/2d/4d)
7.10 Speed
After enter setting mode, display shows “F0 CAL”, press ZERO key seven times,
display shows “F8 SPD”, press TARE key, the parameters will set weighing
speed.( option: 7.5/15/30 times).
7.11 Reset
After enter setting mode, display shows “F0 CAL”, press ZERO key seven times,
display shows “F9 RST”, press TARE key, the parameters will set back to the default
value(factory mode).
7.12 Gravity
To set gravity, press TARE/UNIT and ZERO key together, when the scale in the self
test. it will show GRAV, input the gravity value, then press ZERO key to make sure.

SECTION 8 BATTERY OPERATION
The weighing indicator can be operated from the battery if desired. The battery life is
approximately 100 hours. (without backlight)
When the battery needs charging BAT LO indicator will turn on. The battery should
be charged when the symbol is on. The scale will still operate for about 10 hours after
which it will automatically switch off to protect the battery.
To charge the battery simply plug into the mains power. The scale does not need to
be turned on.
The battery should be charged for 24 hours for full capacity.
Just under the quantity display is an LED to indicate the status of battery charging.
When the scale is plugged into the mains power the internal battery will be charged.
If the LED is green the battery has a full charge. If it is Red the battery is nearly
discharged and yellow indicates the battery is being charged.
As the battery is used it may fail to hold a full charge. If the battery life becomes
unacceptable then contact your distributor or TAIWANSCALE corporation.

3. INSTALACIÓN
3.1. INSTALACIÓN GENERAL
La balanza debe ser colocada sobre una superficie firme y bien nivelada.
Evite temperaturas extremas. No coloque la balanza directamente bajo la luz del sol ni cerca de
conductos de salida de aire acondicionado.
Evite las mesas inestables. Las mesas o el suelo deben ser rígidos y no vibrar. No coloque la balanza
cerca de maquinaria que vibre.
Evite las tomas de corriente inestables. No utilice la balanza cerca de equipos con mucho consumo
eléctrico como equipamiento de soldadura o grandes motores.
Evite movimientos de aire como los procedentes de ventiladores y la apertura de puertas. No coloque la
balanza cerca de ventanas abiertas.
Mantenga la balanza limpia.
Mantenga la balanza seca.
No apile material sobre la balanza cuando no está en uso.

3.2. INSTALACIÓN DE LA SERIE BS
Las balanzas de las series BS-BSI utilizan un adaptador de corriente alterna y funcionan asimismo con
batería recargable. Por favor, asegúrese de que el voltaje de la corriente eléctrica se corresponde con el
marcado en el adaptador.
El enchufe para el adaptador a corriente alterna está situado en la parte inferior de la balanza.

6. OPERATIVA BÁSICA
6.1. AUTOCERO
Puede pulsar en cualquier momento para fijar el cero. Aparecerá el indicador de cero.
La balanza tiene una función de puesta a cero automática para resolver pequeños problemas de desvío
o acumulación de material sobre el plato.
6.2. FIJACIÓN DE LA TARA
Ponga la balanza a cero pulsando la tecla si es necesario. Se activara el indicador de cero.
Coloque un envase sobre la plataforma y aparecerá un valor de peso.
Pulselatecla para fijar la tara de la balanza. El peso que apareció en el display se almacena
comovalordetarayesevaloresdeducidodeldisplay,dejándoloencero.Se activaraelindicador
“ NET ”(NETO). A medida que se añade producto, sólo semostrará el peso del producto. Labalanza
podría ser tarada por segunda vez si se fuera a añadir otro tipo de producto al primero. Nuevamente,
sólo se mostrará el peso que se añada después de fijar la tara.
Efectúe una calibración de peso tal como se describe en el apartado 7.2 ( Calibración).

6.3 CAMBIO DE LA UNIDAD DE PESO
Mantenga pulsada la tecla dedurante4segundosylaunidaddepesocambiaráyse
encenderá la unidad de peso correspondiente (kg o lb).
7. CONFIGURACIÓN
7.1. ENTRADA EN EL MODO DE CONFIGURACIÓN
La balanza tiene 7 parámetros que pueden ser fijados por el usuario. Existe además un procedimiento
para entrar en la sección de calibración.
Para fijar los parámetros o la calibración, encienda el equipo con la tecla pulsada y aparecerá
F0 CAL .
7.2. CALIBRACIÓN
Despuésdeentrar enel menúde configuración,el displaymostrarálaprimera función"CAL".Pulsela
tecla y el display mostrará “UNLOAD”(DESCARGA), vacíe el plato y cuando se active el
indicador de ESTABLE , pulse nuevamente la tecla .Eldisplaymostraráel pesodecalibración
solicitado, pulsando la tecla se selecciona el peso de calibración (en kg) a utilizar (Ej. para
alcance6kg:A02, A1 4,A26).Unavezseleccionado,puede pulsarlatecla y el display
mostrara “LOAD” (CARGA). Coloque el peso seleccionado sobre la balanza y se activará el indicador
ESTABLE. Pulsela tecla para guardar. El display mostrará ahora “PASS”. Después la BS-BSI
hará una auto comprobación y estará lista para comenzar a trabajar.
7.3. CAMBIO DE ESCALÓN
Despuésdeentrarenel mododeconfiguración,eldisplaymuestra“F0CAL”,pulselatecla y
el display mostrará "F1 INC". Pulse la tecla paraentrar,pulselatecla para
seleccionar división: (Ej. Para alcance 6kg: 1 ó 2g), pulse latecla paragrabar.Pulselatecla
y la tecla al mismo tiempo para salir.
7.4. VERIFICACIÓN DE DIVISIONES INTERNAS
Despuésdeentrarenel mododeconfiguración,eldisplaymuestra“F0CAL”,pulselatecla dos
veces y el display mostrará “F2 INP”. Pulse la tecla para entrar y el display muestra las
divisiones internas. Pulse la tecla y la tecla al mismo tiempo para salir.
7.5. PROGRAMACIÓN DE RETROILUMINACIÓN
Despuésdeentrarenelmododeconfiguración,eldisplaymuestra“F0CAL”,pulselatecla
tres veces y el display mostrará “F3 BT”. Pulse la tecla para entrar y pulse la tecla
para programar la retroiluminación (AU= automático, OFF:=desactivado, ON= siempre activado).
Pulselatecla ylatecla al mismo tiempo parasalir.

7.7. PROGRAMACIÓN DE AUTOAPAGADO (SLEEP)

c inco veces, y el display muestra “F5 oFF”. Pulse la tecla para entrar y después la tecla
para cambiar el tiempo de autoapagado (opciones “oN”, 3, 5, 10 y 20 minutos). Pulse la tecla
ylatecla al mismo tiempo para salir.
7.8. FILTRO DE PESO
Después de entrar en el modo de configuración el display muestra “F0 CAL”, pulse la tecla
seisveces,eldisplaymuestra “F6FLT”.Pulselatecla para entrar y después pulse la tecla
paracambiarelvalordelfiltrodepesoaplicado.Lasposiblesopcionesson:1,2,3,4.Amedida
quese aumentael valor,el peso será más preciso y labalanza pesará más lentamente. Pulse latecla
ylatecla al mismo tiempo para salir.

8. FUNCIONAMIENTO CON BATERÍA
Cuando la batería necesita ser recargada, se enciende el indicador Bat Low. Por favor, cargue la batería o use
un adaptador de corriente alterna cuando vea este indicador encendido.
Las balanzas pueden funcionar con baterías si se desea. La duración de la batería es de aproximadamente
100 horas.
Para cargar la batería sólo tiene que enchufarla a la red eléctrica. No es necesario encender la balanza.
La recarga debería durar 24 horas para llenar la batería a plena capacidad.
Hay un LED que indica el estado dela carga de la batería. Cuando la balanza está enchufada a la red
eléctrica, la batería interna se cargará. Si el LED es verde la batería tiene carga completa. Si es rojo, la batería
necesita carga, y el amarillo indica que la batería está en proceso de recarga.
Con el uso, la batería puede ir perdiendo capacidad de hacer cargas completas. Si la duración de la carga de
la batería se hace inaceptable, póngase en contacto con su distribuidor.
Nota: las baterías nuevas están parcialmente cargadas. Antes de poder utilizar su balanza, debe instalar y
cargar la batería siguiendo las siguientes instrucciones.
Algunas baterías tienen un mejor rendimiento después de varios ciclos completos de carga/descarga.
El rendimiento de las baterías depende de numerosos factores, incluida la configuración de la retroiluminación
y la operativa.
No utilice nunca un cargador o una batería que estén dañados.
No haga un cortocircuito en la batería. Se puede producir un cortocircuito
accidental cuando un objeto metálico (moneda, clip o bolígrafo) causa
unaconexióndirectadelos polos + y–delabatería(tirasmetálicas dela
batería), por ejemplo cuando lleva una batería de repuesto en el bolsillo.
Hacer un corto-circuito de los polos puede dañar la batería o el objeto que
se conecta.

A fin de maximizar el rendimiento de su batería:
Use siempre baterías y adaptador de CA originales.. La garantía de la balanza no cubre los daños causados
como consecuencia del uso de otras baterías y/o cargadores diferentes.

Las baterías nuevas o aquellas baterías que hayan sido almacenadas durante largos periodos de tiempo
pueden requerir un mayor tiempo de carga.
Mantenga la batería a temperatura ambiente o una temperatura próxima cuando efectúe la carga.
No exponga las baterías a temperaturas inferiores a -10°C o superiores a 45°C.
En el transcurso de periodos de tiempo largo, las baterías van perdiendo progresivamente capacidad de
carga y requieren tiempos de recarga más largos.
Esto es normal. Si usted carga la batería regularmente y observa que disminuye el periodo de funcionamiento
o que aumenta el periodo de carga, probablemente es momento de adquirir una nueva batería.

Los valores del convertidor A/D están fuera del
rango normal. Quite el peso de la balanza si
hay un exceso de peso, asegúrese de que se
coloca el plato.
Indica quela célula de carga o laelectrónica
puede noestarfuncionandocorrectamente.
