This section contains safety instructions that will help
protect from risk of personal injury or property dam-
age. Failure to follow these instructions shall void any
warranty.
1.1 General safety
•Do not use the appliance outdoors.
•To ensure safe operation of the appliance, do not
modify the safety features in any way.
•Never operate or place any part of this appliance on
or near to hot surfaces such as gas burner, electric
burner or heated oven.
•The bread can set on fire because of overheating.
Never use the appliance in or near to combustible,
inflammable places, materials and furniture. Do not
let the appliance come into contact with or become
covered by inflammable materials e.g. curtains,
textiles, walls, etc. Please make sure that the ap-
pliance is always kept a safe distance away from
flammable materials and furniture.
•Use bread slices which are suitable to the bread
slots.

•Operate the appliance with delivered parts only.
•Always use the appliance on a stable, flat, clean,
dry and non-slip surface.
•There is a danger of burns. Avoid contact with hot
surfaces; the outer casing becomes very hot dur-
ing use.
•When using for the first time, smoke can develop
due to production residues. However, this does not
mean the appliance is defective. The first time you
turn it on, use the appliance as you normally would,
but without bread. Ensure for proper room ventila-
tion.
•If the toaster begins to emit smoke during opera-
tion, immediately stop the toasting process. Should
bread get stuck in the toaster, always unplug the
appliance before you pull out the bread. Be careful
the bread can be very hot.
•Check if the mains voltage on the rating label cor-
responds to your local mains supply.
•For additional protection, this device should be
connected to a household faulty current protection
switch with no more than 30 mA.

•Do not immerse the appliance, power cord or power
plug in water or in other liquids; do not hold it under
running water and do not clean parts in dishwasher.
•Use a grounded outlet.
•Never use the appliance if the power cord or the
appliance is damaged.
•Disconnect the power plug after using the appli-
ance, before cleaning the appliance, before leaving
the room or if a fault occurs. Do not disconnect the
plug by pulling on the cord.
•Prevent damage to the power cord by not squeez-
ing, bending or rubbing it on sharp edges. Keep the
cord away from hot surfaces and open flames.
•Our BEKO Household Appliances meet applicable
safety standards, thus if the appliance or power
cord is damaged, it must be repaired or replaced by
the dealer, a service centre or a similarly qualified
and authorized service person to avoid any dan-
gers. Faulty or unqualified repair work may cause
danger and risks to the user.

•Dry the appliance and all accessories before con-
necting it to mains supply and before attaching the
parts.
•Do not use the appliance with damp or wet hands.
•This appliance must not be operated with an exter-
nal clock timer or separate remote control system.
•Do not use any tools or objects in the appliance.
Metal objects could cause short circuits or electric
shock. Do not damage the heating elements and
mechanics.
•Do not use the appliance for anything other than its
intended use. The Toaster is designed for toasting
and warming bread and buns only.
•The appliance is designed for domestic use only.
•Always keep the appliance and his cord out of the
reach of children.

•This appliance can be used by children aged from
8 years and above and persons with reduced physi-
cal, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of ex-
perience and knowledge if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the ap-
pliance in a safe way and understand the hazards
involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made
by children without supervision.
•Do not leave the appliance unattended as long as
it is in use.
•Keep all packaging materials away from children.

1.2 Compliance with WEEE regulation and disposal of the waste
product
This product does not contain harmful and forbidden materials
described in the “Directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain
Hazardous Substances in Waste Electrical and Electronic
Equipment” (WEEE) issued by the T.R. Ministry of Environment
and Urbanization. Complies with the WEEE Directive.
This product has been manufactured with high quality parts and materials
which can be reused and are suitable for recycling.Therefore, do not dis-
pose of the product with normal domestic waste at the end of its service
life.Take it to a collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic
equipment. Please consult your local authorities to learn the nearest col-
lection point. Help protect the environment and natural resources by recy-
cling used products. For children’s safety, cut the power cable and break
the locking mechanism of the loading door so that it will be non-functional
before disposing of the product.
1.3 Package information
Packaging materials of the product are manufactured from re-
cyclable materials in accordance with our National Environment
Regulations. Do not dispose of the packaging materials together
with the domestic or other wastes. Take them to the packaging
material collection points designated by the local authorities.

3.1 Initial use
1.Remove all packaging and stic-
ker materials and dispose of
them according to the applicable
legal regulation.
2. Before using of the appliance for
first time, clean all parts which
come into contact with water
carefully. (See the “Cleaning and
care” section).
3.Make sure that the appliance is
sitting in an upright position and
on a stable, flat, clean, dry and
non-slip surface.

When using for the
first time, smoke
can develop due to
production residues.
However, this does not
mean the appliance
is defective. The first
time you turn it on,
use the appliance as
you normally would,
but without bread. It is
recommended to use
the medium setting of
the browning control
(6) to burn in. Ensure
for proper room ven-
tilation.
3.2 Toasting
1.Insert only one slice of bread in
each of the two bread slots.
2.Connect the power plug into the
wall socket.
3.Using the browning control (6) by
selecting the desired degree of
browning.

Turning the brown-
ing control to the left
will give the lightest
degree of browning
and to the right the
darkest. The brown-
ing degree can vary
depending on the type
of bread.

When toasting sev-
eral slices of bread
consecutively, the
toaster will become
hotter and therefore
the bread will gradu-
ally become darker.
Therefore select an
appropriate brown-
ing degree. Let the
toaster cool down
after each toasting
process for approx.
15-20 seconds to
reset the integrated
thermostat.
4.Press the start lever (5) down
until it automatically snap into
place.
– The toasting process begins.
The indicator light of the
Cancel button (7) illuminates
during the toasting process.

If the power plug is
not connected into
the wall socket, the
start lever (5) doesn’t
snap into place.

The degree of brown-
ing can also be ad-
justed during the
toasting process with
the browning control
(6).
5.The appliance automatically
switches off as soon as the set
degree of browning has been re-
ached.
The start lever (5) springs back
up and the Cancel button (7)
light goes off. The toast slices
are pushed upwards and can be
taken out of the toaster.

After the start lever
(5) springs back up,
you can use high-lift
function by pushing
the start lever (5) up-
wards.

To cancel the toast-
ing process before it
has finished, press the
Cancel button (7). The
start lever (5) springs
back up and the toast
slices can be taken out

6.Disconnect the appliance from
the wall socket.
3.2.1 Toasting frozen
bread
1.Follow the steps from 1 to 4 at
the Toasting section.
2.Press the Defrost button (8).
The indicator lights of the defrost
button (7) and Cancel button (7)
illuminate and the toasting pro-
cess begins.

When the Defrost
button (8) is pressed,
the toasting process
takes longer than
with normal toasting.

ached. The start lever (5) springs
back up; Defrost button (8) and
the Cancel button (7) lights go
off. The toast slices are pushed
upwards and can be taken out of
the toaster.
3.2.2 Warming up already
toasted bread
1.Follow the steps from 1 to 4 at
the Toasting section.
2 Press the Reheat button (9).
– The indicator lights of the
Reheat button (9) and Cancel
button (7) illuminate and the
warming up process begins.
3.The appliance automatically
switches off as soon as the set
degree of warming has been re-
ached. The start lever (5) springs
back up; Reheat button (9) and
the Cancel button (7) lights go
off. The toast slices are pushed
upwards and can be taken out of
the toaster.

4.1 Cleaning
A
WARNING: Never
use petrol, solvents
or abrasive cleaners,
metal objects or hard
brushes to clean the
appliance.
AWARNING: Never
put the appliance or
power cord in water
or any other liquid.
1.Turn the appliance off and dis-
connect it from wall socket.
2.Let the appliance cool down
completely.
3.Remove the crumbs after each
use by pulling out the crumb tray
(1). Clean the crumb tray with a
damp cloth only. Before pushing
back the crump tray in the app-
liance assure that the tray is dry.
Do not let bread crumbs collect
inside the toaster, they may cau-
se fire.
4.Turn the toaster upside down
and shake it slightly to remove
bread crumbs from inside.
5.Use a damp soft cloth and a
small mild cleanser to clean the
housing of the appliance. Dry the
housing thoroughly.

Before using the ap-
pliance after clean-
ing, dry all parts
carefully using a soft
towel.
4.2 Storage
•If you do not plan to use the ap-
pliance for a long period of time,
please store it carefully.
•Make sure the appliance is un-
plugged and completely dry.
•Wrap the power cord around the
cable coil on the bottom of the
toaster.
•Store the appliance in a cool, dry
place.
•Make sure the appliance is kept
out of the reach of children.
