PACKING AND TRANSPORT
◊WIDTH: 79 cm.
◊DEPTH: 43 cm.
◊HEIGHT: 69 cm.
•Remove the power hoe from its packing. Fit the two hubs with the dust cover on the cutter shaft.
•Fit the double blades on the cutter shaft. Then insert the discs to make a width of 60 cm, and if necessary insert the third
position blades for a width of 80 cm.
•Ensure that the cutting direction of the cutter blades is correct. There is a righthand and lefthand one for each position.
•Then insert the lateral discs and lock the cutter with the bolts which are part of the equipment , assembled on the cutter.
•When mounting the cutter blades, take care that they are outof phase with each other.
•Fix the spur in its housing, at the rear of the cutter support using the pre-assembled bolt.
•Fix the handles to the handlebar support by using the equipment pre-mounted on the handlebar support.
•Fix the cutter-casing to the handle support and to the handlebar support, using the screws in the bag supplied. This will
provide a 60 cm width protection on the cutter, in accordance with CE regulations.
•In order to make the transport easier and to reduce the room occupied, it’s possible to bend the handle on the motor,
holding it blocked in the toothed part. -Fig. n°2-
SAFETY RULES
•Please read carefully the operation and maintenance manual supplied with the machine.
•Persons under 16 years of age are prohibited from operating the machine.
•The operator is responsible for all damages as the machine is under his control.
•Persons unfamiliar with the machine and have never used it are obliged to read first the operation and maintenance
manual.
•Empty the tank of petrol should the machine be transported.
•Should the machine be left unattended, ensure that it cannot start up again.
•Never work in bare feet or sandals. Wear sturdy shoes and long pants. First inspect the area to be cut and remove
stones, sticks, metal wires and other extraneous objects.
•Before starting the machine, ensure that there is a 5-meter radius of free space around the machine.
•Dry petrol leaks.
•Always add fuel to the tank with the motor off. The supply and/or transfer of fuel must always take place outdoors, away
from flames or heat sources. Do not smoke during this operation.
•Before using the power hoe, the operator must learn how to shut off the motor off quickly, and how to utilize the machine
and the controls correctly.
•Do not operate the motor where carbon monoxide exhaust may accumulate.
•Never disassemble or clean the cutter or other implements with the motor running.
•Caution! Never work on slopes exceeding 50%.

STARTING AND STOPPING THE POWER HOE
•Before starting the motor, always make a careful check of the following:
•Check that there is fuel in the tank, and add it if necessary (see Fig. 2).
•Check the motor oil level only in models with the HONDA motor. IMPORTANT: MACHINES OUT OF THE FACTORY DO
NOT CONTAIN OIL IN THE MOTOR. Add oil up to the oil level on the dipstick.
•PLEASE REFER TO THE MOTOR OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL UNDER THE HEADING "BEFORE START-UP"

START-UP STEPS
1. The petrol cock must be open. In the BL4000 e BL4000 CM screw "C" must be unscrewed (Fig. 3).
2. In the BL4000 lower the choke lever "C" (Fig. 3) and turn the accelerator hand lever "D" one quarter or in the "Start"
position (Fig. 4).
3. Ensure that the gearbox engagement lever BL4000 are in neutral.
4. Keep the motor stop lever pressed down with the left hand, gripping it with the knob (Fig. Ref. "G") . Pull the engagemrnt-
disengagement lever (ref. “F”) and block both the levers with the push-button Ref. “H” Fig.5.
5. Grip the start handle "I" with one hand (Fig. 6). Pull slightly until feeling a some resistance, then pull harder. When the
motor is running, the cordshould not be released suddenly, but should be guided back until it is rewound completely.
6. Once the motor is running, with the BL4000 (all models)have the accelerator lever "D" return approximately halfway (Fig.
4). In the BL4000, disconnect the choke and accelerate progressively. Warm up the motor sufficiently before starting
work.
7. To then release the two levers (see fig. 5 ref. F-G), and move forward, grasp both levers and slightly squeeze the
engagement-disengagement lever “F” Fig.5, after releasing the button (ref. H Fig.5) let the lever down and the
transmission is engaged. To shut off the motor, release the "motor stop" lever (Fig. 5 Ref. "G") and close the petrol cock.
Remember never to tie the "motor stop" lever to the handlebar knob while using the power hoe. To shut off the motor
more quickly, we suggest to push the button Ref. “E” Fig. 4 o to shift the accelerator lever to the position “OFF” “TOP”.
FOR BEST MACHINE START-UP, READ CAREFULLY THE MOTOR OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
MANUAL UNDER THE HEADING "START UP".

-Fig. n°5--Fig. n°6-
OPERATING AND REGULATING THE MACHINE
•To have the power hoe move forward, engage the gearbox engagement-disengagement lever Fig.5 Rif.”F”
•This operation should always be carried out with the motor running at the minimum r.p.m. In any case, release the lever
slowly and always keep the "motor stop" lever pushed Fig. 5Rif.”G” increase the r.p.m. with the accelerator hand lever.
Do not let the "motor stop" lever (Fig. 5 Ref. "G") lift up or the machine will stop.
•The steering handles are adjustable in height and horizontally may be regulated by unscrewing the blocking lever Ref."L"
in Fig. 7, positioning the handle in the desired position, and then tightening the lever.
•The cutter may have a width of 62 cm with 4 hoes (2 per side) and lateral discs. It can be widened to 86 cm with the
addition of one cutter blade per side and by replacing the pin with one longer of an appropriate size
•The cutting part of the hoes must be turned toward the front of the machine. It is advised to leave the end discs mounted
on the cutters to give the machine better stability during operation.
•The spur is fixed. It’s locked by a through-screw. Fig.8.

MAINTENANCE
•To change the oil on the HONDA GCV 135 4 stroke motor and to perform other maintenance operations (spark plugs, air
filter, regulations), read the motor manual supplied.
•All gearbox parts are with oil-bath . Make a regular check of the oil level by means of screw "M" Fig. 8 and top up if
necessary through the breather cap "N" Fig. 8
•When the oil in the gearbox is to be changed, empty the oil by unscrewing the lower drain cap (Rif.”P” Fig.9) (Also
unscrew the oil cap (ref. "N" Fig.8), screw back with the Allen wrench supplied and add the oil necessary up to the level
through the hole in the breather cap Rif.”N” Fig.8
•This operation must be performed after the first 50 hours of operation and every 200 hours thereafter (once a year at
minimum).
•To clean the air filter in models with MINARELLI motors, proceed as follows:
•Clean the filter on the outside to prevent dirt from falling inside during disassembly. Unfasten the "Q" clips, remove the oil
tub "R" and the filtering element "S" Fig.10.
•Wash the various elements thoroughly with petrol and petroleum. Add new oil to the tub up to the level as indicated in Fig.
10. NEW FILTERS ARE ALWAYS SUPPLIED EMPTY.
•This operation must be carried out more frequently when working dusty terrain.
•At least once per season, check that nuts and bolts are tightened, specifically those on the cutter (Fig. 11).
•Always use gloves when working on the cutter.
•For any servicing, especially during the warranty period, seek the assistance of a dealer-authorized repair shop.
