■Pressandreleasethemomentaryswitch.
Thegreenlightflashesandthelockingmechanism
unlocks.Then,aftertheprogrammedunlockduration
(defaultis3seconds),thelockingmechanismrelocks.
Note:
YoudoNOTneedtokeepholdingtheswitch
buttondowntokeepthelockunlocked.
Theremoteunlockswitchwillnotoperateif:
■thedeadboltisthrown
■thebatteryisinthealarmstate.
Momentaryswitchandwiringrequirements:

Minswitch current 1mA
Minwiregauge 26AWG
Maxswitchbounce 50mSec
■Usingathreetofourfootdrillbit,drilla3/8″diameter
channel,throughtheedgeofthedoor,toorfromthe
centerofthenearesthingepreparation.
Note:
Forexithardwaretriminstallations,drillthe
channelfromthehingetotheharnessholeandfeed
thewiresthroughthathole,makingfinalconnections
insidethebatterycompartment.

Therearetwostandardwaystoextendthemomentary
switchwiresfromtheframetothedoor:
■Usinganelectrichinge,StanleyCECB179orequiva-
lent.ContactyourlocalBESTsalesofficeforspecific
orderinginformation.
■UsingaBEST8WDTLdoortransferloop,orequivalent.
Followthemanufacturer’sinstructionstoproperlyinstall
theelectrichingeor doortransferloop.
4Finishlockinstallationandmake
remoteunlockconnections
Atthepointofmakingthemotorandsensorconnections,
youneedtoalsomaketheremoteunlockconnection.
Note:
Theremoteunlockconnectionwiresarebrown
andarenotterminated.Usewirenutsorcrimpcon-
nectorstomaketheremoteunlockconnections.
1 Cuttheremoteunlockwirestoremovetheepoxyseal-
ant.Striptheremoteunlockwiresandthewiresfrom
theremoteunlockswitch.SeeFigure3.
2 Maketheremoteunlockconnection.Thewiresarenot
polarizedsoitdoesnotmatterwhichwiresaremated.
3 Installamomentarypush-buttonswitchataconve-
nientbutsecurelocation.
4 Makethefinalwireconnectionstotheswitch.
