VERWENDUNGSZWECK
Dieser Werkzeugsatz ist geeignet zum Überprüfen von Freiwinkel und Kippspiel an
Zweimassenschwungrädern (ZMS). Eine Überprüfung ist beim Kupplungswechsel zwingend
erforderlich, da ein verschlissenes bzw. schadhaftes ZMS zur Zerstörung der neuen Kupplung und
anderer Bauteile führen kann. Die Überprüfung ist nach Demontage der Kupplungsscheibe im
eingebauten Zustand möglich.

Gegenstände können von drehenden Teilen erfasst werden und schwere Verletzungen
verursachen.

MESSMETHODEN
Bei Zweimassenschwungrädern mit einer geraden Anzahl an
Befestigungsschrauben der Kupplungsdruckplatte, wird der
Hebel mittig montiert und der Freiwinkel mit Hilfe der
Drehwinkelscheibe bestimmt.
Diese Messmethode wird bei den meisten ZMS angewendet
und sollte bevorzugt werden.
Bei Zweimassenschwungrädern mit einer ungeraden Anzahl
an Befestigungsschrauben der Kupplungsdruckplatte, wird
der Hebel nichtmittig montiert und der Freiwinkel wird über
die Anzahl der Zähne vom Anlasserzahnkranz bestimmt.

1. Montieren Sie zwei passende Befestigungsbolzen (6)
gegenüberliegend in den Gewinden für die
Kupplungsdruckplatte.

2. Montieren Sie den Hebel (7) so, dass die
Vierkantaufnahme mittig auf dem ZMS angebracht ist.
3. Blockieren Sie das ZMS mit Hilfe der Arretierkrallen (1).

Drehwinkelscheiben-Arretierung (3) und dem Halter (4).

5. Drehen Sie die Sekundärschwungscheibe mit dem Hebel
gegen den Uhrzeigersinn, bis die Federkraft der
Bogenfedern spürbar ist.
6. Hebel langsam loslassen, bis die Bogenfedern entspannt
sind.
7. Zeiger der Drehwinkelscheibe auf „O“ stellen.
8. Sekundärschwungscheibe mit dem Hebel im
Uhrzeigersinn drehen, bis die Federkraft der Bogenfedern
spürbar ist.

gegen den Uhrzeigersinn, bis die Federkraft der
Bogenfedern spürbar ist.
ACHTUNG
Bei einem ZMS mit Reibsteuerscheibe ist beim Verdrehen in
eine Richtung ein harter Anschlag zu spüren. In diesem Fall
muss die Sekundärschwungscheibe mit erhöhtem
Kraftaufwand jeweils um einige Millimeter in beide
Richtungen über diesen Anschlag weitergedreht werden bis
die Federkraft spürbar ist. Dadurch wird die
Reibsteuerscheibe im ZMS ebenfalls verdreht.
5. Hebel langsam loslassen, bis die Bogenfedern entspannt
sind.
6. Sekundär- und Primärschwungscheibe (Anlasser-
Zahnkranz) auf gleicher Höhe markieren.

7. Sekundärschwungscheibe mit dem Hebel im
Uhrzeigersinn drehen, bis die Federkraft der Bogenfedern
spürbar ist.
8. Hebel langsam loslassen, bis die Bogenfedern entspannt
sind.
9. Anzahl der Zähne des Anlasser-Zahnkranzes zwischen
beiden Markierungen zählen und mit Sollwert vergleichen.

KIPPSPIEL-MESSUNG
1. Messuhr mit dem Halter an Motorblock anbauen.
2. Messuhr mittig auf dem Adapter ausrichten und
entsprechend vorspannen.
3. ACHTUNG: Die Messung muss vorsichtig erfolgen. Zu
hoher Kraftaufwand verfälscht das Messergebnis und
kann das Lager beschädigen.
4. Hebel leicht in Richtung Motor drücken, bis ein
Widerstand zu spüren ist. Hebel in dieser Position halten
und Messuhr auf „0” stellen.
5. Hebel leicht in die andere Richtung drücken, bis ein
Widerstand zu spüren ist. Wert auf Messuhr mit Angaben
des Fahrzeugherstellers vergleichen.

INTENDED USE
This tool kit is suitable for testing clearance angles and tilting tolerances on double-mass flywheels.
Procedures that are necessary whenever you want to replace a clutch because a worn out or
damaged double-mass flywheel will damage the replaced clutch and/or other engine parts. After
disassembling the clutch disc, testing will be possible on built-in clutches.

•Do not allow children to play with this tool or its packaging.
•Do not use the tool if parts are missing or damaged.
•Use the tool for the intended purpose only.
•Never place the tool on the vehicle battery. There is a risk of a short circuit.

accidentally and resulting in engine damage and personal injuries.
•This manual serves as a brief guide and does not replace a workshop manual. Always refer to
the vehicle-specific service literature, particularly the technical data such as torque values and
instructions for disassembly/assembly, etc.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. Packaging should be
sorted, taken to a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with
the environment. Contact your local solid waste authority for recycling information.
METHODS OF MEASUREMENT
With double-mass flywheels that come with an even number
of bolts at the clutch pressure plate, apply the lever at the
center and measure the clearance by using the torque setting
angular gauge. This method works with most double-mass
flywheels and should be preferred.
With double-mass flywheels that come with an odd number
of bolts at the clutch pressure plate, don’t apply the lever at
the center and measure the clearance by counting the teeth
on the cranking ring.

1. Install two suitable mounting bolts (6) opposite each other
in the threads for the clutch pressure plate.

2. Apply the lever (7) so that the square adaptor is located
over the center of the flywheel.
3. Block the flywheel by using the locking tools (1).

for angular dial indicator (3) and holder (4).

5. Turn the secondary flywheel disc with the lever counter-
clockwise until you can feel the bow springs tensioning.
6. Release the lever slowly until the springs are unwound
again.
7. Set the dial of the torque setting angular gauge to
“ZERO”.
8. Turn the secondary flywheel disc with the lever clockwise
until you can feel the bow springs tensioning.

9. Release the lever slowly until the springs are unwound
again.
10. Compare the measured value with the manufacturer’s
specifications.

3. Block the flywheel by using the locking tools (1).

4. Turn the secondary flywheel disc with the lever counter-
clockwise until you can feel the bow springs tensioning.
CAUTION
When turning a double-mass flywheel that is equipped with a
rubbing control plate, you can and may sense an abrupt
mechanical stop. In this case you will have to turn the
secondary flywheel disc with an extra effort for a few
millimeters in both directions over this mechanical stopping
point until you can actually feel the bow springs tensioning.
By doing so, the rubbing control plate will be rotated as well.
5. Release the lever slowly until the springs are unwound
again.
6. Mark the secondary and primary (cranking ring) flywheel
disc abreast.

9. Count the exact number of teeth on the cranking ring in
between both markings and compare that with the
nominal value..

MEASURING THE TILTING TOLERANCE
1. Fasten the gauge to the engine block.
2. Set the gauge to the center of the adaptor and preload it
appropriately.
3. CAUTION: The measurement must be followed through
very carefully. Excessive force will distort the
measurement and may damage the bearing.
4. Move the lever slowly in the direction of the engine until
you can sense a drag. Hold the lever exactly in this
position and set the dial of the gauge to “ZERO”.
5. Move the lever slowly in the opposite direction until you
can sense a drag. Compare the measured value with the
manufacturer’s specifications.

Ce jeu d’outils convient pour le contrôle de l’angle de dépouille et du jeu de basculement sur les
volants bi-masse (VBM). Un contrôle est impératif en cas de changement d’embrayage, car un VBM
usé ou endommagé peut entraîner la destruction du nouvel embrayage et d’autres composants. Le
contrôle est possible à l’état monté après le démontage du disque d’embrayage.

UTILISATION
Pour les volants bi-masse avec un nombre pair de vis de
fixation sur la plaque de pression d’embrayage, le levier est
monté au centre et l’angle de dépouille est déterminé à l’aide
du disque d’angle de rotation.
Cette méthode de mesure est utilisée avec la plupart des
VBM et doit être privilégiée.
Pour les volants bi-masse avec un nombre impair de vis de
fixation sur la plaque de pression d’embrayage, le levier n’est
pas monté au centre et l’angle de dépouille est déterminé par
le nombre de dents du pignon du démarreur.

DÉTERMINATION DE L’ANGLE DE DÉPOUILLE AVEC DISQUE GRADUÉ
1. Montez le levier (7) de sorte que le support carré soit
positionné au centre du VBM.
2. Bloquez le VBM à l’aide des griffes de blocage (1).

4. Tournez le volant d’inertie secondaire avec le levier dans
le sens inverse des aiguilles d’une montre jusqu’à ce que
la force des ressorts arqués soit perceptible.
5. Relâchez lentement le levier jusqu’à ce que les ressorts
arqués soient détendus.
6. Régler l’aiguille du disque d’angle de rotation sur « O ».
7. Tournez le volant d’inertie secondaire à l’aide du levier
dans le sens des aiguilles d’une montre, jusqu’à ce que la
force des ressorts soit perceptible.
