Glühkerzen-Reparaturset
für Mercedes CDI-Motoren
VERWENDUNG
Bohren Sie das
Kerzengewinde heraus Dieser Werkzeugsatz ermöglicht das richtige Entfernen
eingebrannter, korrodierter oder abgebrochener Glühkerzen als
auch die Reparatur des Sicherungsgewindes der Glühkerze ohne
Entfernen des Zylinderkopfes.
Er ermöglicht das Ausbohren beschädigter Glühkerzen und das
Neuschneiden des ursprünglichen M10x1 Gewindes auf M12x1.
Die neue Glühkerze wird dann im Zylinderkopf mit Hilfe eines
M12x1 Gewindeeinsatzes eingesetzt. Unter Verwendung des
Abziehers, der im Werkzeugsatz enthalten ist, kann die Glühkerze
(oder der Glühkerzenkanal, wenn sie sich im Einsatz festgefressen
hat) entfernt werden.

Ausbohren einer abgebrochenen Glühkerze

1. Verwenden Sie den Zylinderbohrer zum
Abtragen der vorstehenden Mittelelektrode
(nach rechts drehen) (Abb.1.1A) und
entfernen Sie diese (Abb.1.1 B).

2. Setzen Sie die Zentrierhülse
(Führungsbuchse) in die Glühkerzenbohrung
ein (für den Bohrer)
3. Schlagen Sie mit dem Einsetz-/Ausbau-
werkzeug leicht auf die Zentrierhülse, um sie
einzutreiben und fest in Position zu bringen.

4. Benetzen Sie den Hohlkernbohrer mit Öl.

5. Führen Sie ihn in die Führungsbuchse ein.
6. Spannen Sie einen 10 mm
Innensechskantschlüssel-Einsatz mit 3/8”
Adapter in eine geeignete Bohrmaschine.

7. Beginnen Sie hiermit den Ausbohr-Vorgang.
Üben Sie nur leichten Druck auf den
Hohlkernbohrer aus (Abb.1.5), und
unterbrechen Sie den Vorgang mehrmals zur
Entfernung der Späne. Die korrekte
Bohrtiefe ist erreicht, wenn die
Anschlagnase des Hohlkernbohrers gegen
die Bohrbuchse stößt.
Hinweis:
Korrekte Bohrgeschwindigkeit (ca. 500 U/min)
Geben Sie Öl auf die Schneidkanten des
Hohlkernbohrers.

8. Ziehen Sie die Zentrierhülse und die Bohrer-
Führungsbuchse mit Hilfe des Einsetz-/
Ausbau-Werkzeugs heraus (Abb.1.6)
9. Entfernen Sie erneut die Späne aus dem
geschnittenen Loch.
Hinweis: Tragen Sie immer eine Schutzbrille!

10. Stellen Sie die Kurbelwelle so ein, daß der
zu reparierende Zylinder auf dem OT des
Arbeitstaktes steht (Ventile geschlossen).
Entfernen Sie die Einspritzdüse mit dem
Werkzeugsatz, und installieren Sie den
Druckluftadapter (Abb.1.7). Verhindern
Sie, daß die Kurbelwelle rotiert!

11. Nehmen Sie einen Gewindeschneider, und
benetzen Sie den Schneider zunächst mit
Öl (Abb.1.8A). Schneiden Sie dann etwa 5
mm tief in den Glühkerzenkanal, der sich
noch im Zylinderkopf befindet.
12. Schrauben Sie den Abziehbolzen bis auf
eine Tiefe von 5 mm in den
Glühkerzenkanal, und befestigen Sie den
Abzieher. Öffnen Sie das Ventil am
Druckluftadapter, und drehen Sie zum
Ausziehen des Glühkerzenkanals mit
Glühkerze die Sechskantmutter. (Abb.1.8)

13. Setzen Sie die Zentrierhülse in die
Glühkerzenbohrung ein. Schieben Sie die
Führungsbuchse für den Bohrer bis zum
Anschlag ein, und plazieren Sie die
Zentrierhülse mit dem unteren Ende fest,
indem Sie mit einem Schlagwerkzeug
leicht darauf schlagen. Schneiden Sie das
M10x1 Sicherungsgewinde für die
Glühkerze nach. Der Gewindeschneider
muß zunächst mit Alkohol benetzt werden.
Beim Schneiden des Gewindes muß die
Druckluftzufuhr am Adapter schrittweise
erhöht werden, damit keine Späne in die
Verbrennungskammer gelangen. Tragen
Sie immer eine Schutzbrille (Abb.1.9).
Hinweis:
Geben Sie Alkohol auf die Schneidkanten des
Gewindeschneiders.
Tragen Sie stets eine Schutzbrille!
Drehen Sie Gewinde und Reibahle immer nur
per Hand ein.

14. Reinigen Sie die Glühkerzenhalterung und
die kegelige Dichtfläche mit einer 3-Stufen-
Reibahle, bevor Sie die Glühkerze erneut
einsetzen. Hierzu setzen Sie die
Führungsbuchse der Reibahle mit
Zentrierhülse auf. Üben Sie beim Arbeiten
keinen Druck auf die Reibahle aus, damit
lediglich Verbrennungsrückstände und kein
Aluminium-Metall entfernt werden

Arbeitstaktes für Zylinder 1 (Ventil
geschlossen). Verhindern Sie ein Rotieren
der Kurbelwelle!
2. Entfernen Sie die Einspritzdüse vom Zylinder
1 mit dem Düsen-Werkzeugsatz. Installieren
Sie den Druckluftadapter, und schließen Sie
den Druckluftschlauch daran an (Abb.2.1).
Öffnen Sie das Adapterventil, so daß
Schmutz und andere Fremdkörper mit der
Druckluft über die Glühkerzenbohrung
entweichen können.
Hinweis: Tragen Sie immer eine Schutzbrille.

3. Führen Sie die konische Zentrierhülse in die
Glühkerzenbohrung ein.
4. Schieben Sie die Bohrer-Führungsbuchse
bis zum Anschlag durch die Zentrierhülse
ein.
Hinweis:
Wenn die Führungsbuchse nicht bis zum
Anschlag eingeführt wird, wird die erforderliche
Bohr- und Gewindeschnitt-Tiefe nicht erreicht.

5. Positionieren Sie die Zentrierhülse fest auf
deren Unterseite, indem Sie leicht mit dem
Einsetz-/Ausbau-Werkzeug darauf schlagen
(Abb.2.3)
6. Setzen Sie den 3/8” Adapter mit 10 mm
Innensechskantschlüssel in eine geeignete
Bohrmaschine ein.

Alkohol, und führen Sie ihn in die
Führungshülse (für den Bohrer) ein.
8. Bei Verwendung einer Bohrmaschine treiben
Sie den Hohlkernbohrer in die vorgewärmte
Kerzenbohrung, bis die Anschlagnase des
Hohlkernbohrers an die Führungshülse
anschlägt.
Hinweis:
korrekte Bohrgeschwindigkeit (ca. 500 U/min)
Benetzen Sie die Schneidkanten des
Hohlkernbohrers mit Alkohol (verwenden Sie
niemals Öl).
9. Entfernen Sie immer wieder die Späne aus
dem geschnittenen Loch.
Hinweis: tragen Sie immer eine Schutzbrille!

Hülse. Bevor Sie das tun, tragen Sie
Alkohol auf den Gewindeschneider auf,
und führen Sie diesen in die Bohrer-
Führungsbuchse ein. Beim Schneiden des
Gewindes muß der Druckluftzustrom am
Adapter schrittweise erhöht werden, damit
keine Späne in den Verbrennungsraum
eindringen können. Tragen Sie bei dieser
Arbeit immer eine Schutzbrille (Abb.2.5)
Hinweis:
Auf die Schneidkanten des Gewindeschneiders
muss Alkohol aufgetragen werden.
Tragen Sie immer eine Schutzbrille!
Drehen Sie Gewinde und Reibahle immer nur
per Hand ein.
11. Ziehen Sie die Zentrierhülse und die
Bohrerführungsbuchse mit dem Einsetz-/
Ausbau-Werkzeug nach oben heraus.

12. Reinigen Sie das geschnittene Loch erneut
gründlich. Entfernen Sie den
Druckluftadapter und das Werkzeug für die
Kurbelwellenblockierung.
13. Schrauben Sie die Glühkerze mit der
neuen Gewindehülse unter Beachtung des
angegebenen Anziehdrehmoments in den
Zylinderkopf (Abb.2.6)

Wenn diese aufgrund von Karbonisierung in
ihrer Bohrung festgehalten wird, verwenden Sie
zum Herausziehen den Abzieher (mit
Klemmzange) (Abb.3).

Glow Plug Repair Set
for Mercedes CDI engines
APPLICATION
Drill out glow plug thread
This tool set ensures the correct removal of burned- in, corroded or
broken-off glow plugs, and repairs to the glow plug retaining thread
without removing the cylinder head.
It permits the damaged glow plug to be drilled out and the original
M10x1 thread to be re-cut to M12x1.The new glow plug is then
installed in the cylinder head with the aid of an M12x1 thread insert.
Using the puller included in the tool set. The glow plug (or the glow
plug tube if this has seized in the port), can be removed.

Drill out a broken-off glow plug and re-
cutting the original M10X1 thread
1. Use drum cutter to skim off the projecting
centre electrode (Turn to the right) (Fig1.1A)
and remove it (Fig,1.1 B).

2. Insert the centring sleeve(Guide bushing)

3. Strike centring sleeve lightly with the
fitting/removing tool to move it down and
locate it firmly. (Fig 1.3)

5. Insert it into the guide bushing.
6. Insert adapter with 3/8” hex socket wrench
insert 10mm into a suitable power drill.

7. Using this. Start the drill-out process,
applying only light pressure to core drill
(Fig.1.5) and interrupting the process
serveral times to remove swarf. The correct
drilling depth is reached when the stop
shoulder of the core drill contacts the drilling
busing.
Note:
The correct drill speed (app.500 rev/min)
Apply oil to the cutting edges of the core drill.

9. Clean swarf out of the tapped hole again.

10. Set the crankshaft so that the cylinder to
be repaired is at TDC on the working
stroke (Valves closed). Remove the
injector nozzle with tool set and install the
compressed air adapter (Fig.1.7) Prevent
the crankshaft from rotating!

11. Using thread tap, first coat the tap with oil
(Fig.1.8A) and then cut about 5mm deep
into the glow plug tube which is still in the
cylinder head.
12. Screw puller pin into the glow plug tube to
a depth of 5mm and attach puller .Open
the valve at compressed air adapter and
turn the hex nut to pull out the glow plug
tube with glow plug. (Fig.1.8)

13. Insert centring sleeve into the glow plug
bore. Push the guide bushing for the drill in
as far as the stop and locate the centring
sleeve firmly at the bottom by striking it
lightly with impact tool. Recut the M10x1
retaining thread for the glow plug. The
thread tap must first be coated with alcohol
spirit. While cutting the thread, the
compressed air feed must be stepped up
to a higher rate at the adapter, so that no
swarf reaches the combustion chamber.
Protective goggles must always be worm
(fig.1.9).
Note:
Apply alcohol spirit to the cutting edges of the
thread tap.

14. Before installing the glow plug again.
Clean the glow plug port and taper sealing
face with the 3-step reamer. To do this,
install the reamer guide bushing with
centring sleeve. While reaming, do not
exert any pressure on the reamer. so that
only combustion residues are removed, not
aluminium metal (Fig.1.10)

1. Set the crankshaft to TDC on the working
stroke for cylinder 1 (valve closed).
Prevent the crankshaft from rotating!
2. Remove the injector nozzle from cylinder 1
with nozzle tool set. Install compressed air
adapter and connect the compressed hose
to it (Fig.2.1) Open the adapter valve so that
dirt or other contaminants can escape with
the compressed air via the glow plug bore.
Note: Protective goggles must always be worn.

3. Insert conical centring sleeve into the glow
plug bore.
4. Push drill guide bushing in through centring
sleeve as far as the stop.
Note;
Unless the guide bushing is pushed as far as
the stop the specified drilling and thread
tapping depth will not be reached.

5. Locate centring sleeve firmly at the bottom
by striking it light with the fitting/removing
tool (fig.2.3)
6. Insert adapter with 3/8” hex socket wrench
insert 10mm into a suitable power drill.

insert it into the guide sleeve (for drill).
8. Using a power drill, run the core drill into the
preheat plug bore until the stop shoulder on
the core drill makes contact with the guide
bushing.
Note: The correct drill speed(app.500 rev/min)
Coat the cutting edges of the core drill with
alcohol spirit (never use oil).
9. Clean swarf out of the tapped hole again.

While tapping the thread the compressed
air flow at the adapter must be increased
so that no swarf can enter the combustion
chamber. During this work always wear
protective goggles (fig.2.5)

Apply alcohol spirit to the cutting edges of the
thread tap.

11. Pull out centring sleeve and drill guide
bushing upwards, using the fitting /
removing tool.

12. Clean the tapped hole again thoroughly.
Remove compressed air adapter and the
crankshaft locking tool.
13. Screw the glow plug into the cylinder head
with the new threaded sleeve .noting the
specified tightening torque (Fig.2.6)

APLICACION
Perfore la rosca del
calentador
Este juego de herramientas asegura el correcto recambio de
calentadores quemados, corroídos o rotos, y repara las roscas de
retención sin retirar el cabezal.
Permite perforar el calentador dañado y recortar la rosca original
M10x1 a M12x1. El nuevo calentador se instala en el cabezal con
la ayuda de una rosca de inserción M12x1. Usando el extractor
incluido en el set. El calentador puede ser retirado.

Perforar una calentador roto y recortar la

1. Use el cortador de tambor para retirar la
grasa del electrodo central (Gire a la
derecha) (Fig1.1A) y retirarlo (Fig1.1 B).

4. Cubra la broca con aceite(fig.1.4)
5. Insértela en el manguito de guía.
6. Inserte el adaptador hexagonal de 3/8” unos
10mm para taladrar adecuadamente.

7. Usando esto. Comience a taladrar,
aplicando la presión necesaria (Fig.1.5) e
interrumpa el proceso varias veces para
retirar las virutas. La profundidad correcta de
perforación se alcanza cuando el tope de la
broca entra en contacto con el manguito de
perforación.
Nota:
La velocidad correcta de perforación es aprox.
500 rev/min
Aplique aceite en los bordes cortantes de la
broca.

8. Retire el manguito de centrado y taladre el
manguito de guía usando el fijador/retractor.

10. Fije el cigüeñal de forma que el cilindro a
reparar esté en el TDC de la guía de
trabajo (Válvulas cerradas). Retire la
boquilla del inyector con el juego de
herramientas e instale el adaptador de aire
comprimido (Fig.1.7) Evite que el cigüeñal
gire.

11. Usando una rosca de tapa, primero cobra
la tapa con aceite (Fig.1.8A) y luego corte
unos 5mm dentro del tubo del calentador
el cual aún está en el cabezal.
12. Atornille el pasador del extractor en el tubo
del calentador a unos 5mm y luego fije el
extractor. Abra la válvula del adaptador de
aire comprimido y gire la tuerca hexagonal
para extraer el tubo con el calentador.

13. Inserte el manguito de centrado en el
agujero del calentador. Ponga el manguito
de guía en el agujero del calentador.
Empuje el manguito de guía para el taladro
hasta el tope y fije el manguito de
centrado firmemente en la parte inferior
golpeándolo ligeramente con una
herramienta de impacto. Recorte la rosca
de retención M10x1 para el calentador. La
tapa de rosca debe cubrirse primero con
alcohol. Mientras corta la rosca, el
suministro de aire comprimido debe fijarse
al máximo del adaptador, de forma que no
se incendie ninguna viruta. Debe llevar
gafas de seguridad.(fig.1.9).
Nota:
Aplique alcohol a los bordes de corte de la tapa
de rosca.

14. Antes de instalar el calentador de nuevo.
Limpie el puerto del calentador y la tapa de
sellado. Para hacer esto, instale la guía de
la fresadora con el manguito de centrado.
Mientras ensancha, no ejerza ninguna
presión, así solo se quitan los residuos de
combustión, no el metal de aluminio.

Evite que el cigüeñal gire!
2. Retire la boquilla del inyector del cilindro 1
con una herramienta del set. Instale el
adaptador de aire comprimido y conecte la
manguera de aire.(Fig.2.1) Abra la válvula
del adaptador para que el polvo u otros
contaminantes puedan salir de la vía de aire
comprimido del agujero del calentador.
Nota: Debe llevar siempre gafas de seguridad.

Manguito de guía 3. Inserte el manguito de centrado cónico en el

4. Ponga el maguito de guía del taladro a
través del manguito de centrado hasta el
tope.
Nota;
A menos que el manguito de guía esté puesto
hasta el tope, la perforación específica y el
tope de la tapa de rosca no se alcanzará.

5. Fije el manguito de centrado firmemente en
la parte inferior golpeándolo ligeramente con
una herramienta de impacto (fig.2.3)
6. Inserte el adaptador hexagonal de 3/8” unos
10mm para taladrar adecuadamente.

7. Lubrique la broca con alcohol e insértela en
el manguito de guía (para perforar).
8. Usando un taladro, introduzca la broca en el
agujero del calentador hasta alcanzar el tope
cuando la broca haga contacto con el
manguito de guía.
Note: La velocidad correcta de perforación es
aprox. 500 rev/min
Cubra los bordes de corte de la broca con
alcohol (nunca use aceite)
9. Limpie las virutas de nuevo.
Nota: Debe llevar siempre gafas de seguridad!
