Calibration of the LK550 Adjustment Motor Instructions

Objective: There are times when the LK550 adjustment motor may need calibration. Below are the
calibration instructions.
Instructions:
1. For safety disconnect the power Adaptor (H2) so there is no power to the unit.
2. Remove both Left and Right Cranks (A26 & A27). Remove DC Line (A6-2) from left Chain Cover.
Remove Left and Right Chain Covers (A30 & A32).
3. Remove the cotter pin from the end of the Tension Cable (A6-1) on the Adjustment Motor (A6) as
shown below.
4. Pull the Magnetic Housing (A11-3) away from the Magnetic Wheel (A11) to allow slack on the Tension
Cable and slide the Tension Cable up off the fastening pin on the Adjustment Motor as shown below.
5. Adjust Tension Cable tube so that the tube protrudes approximately half its distance as shown below
and tighten with fastening nut.

6. Connect the power Adaptor (H2) and observe the movement of the Adjustment motor fastening pin as
it moves into position “0”.
7. Disconnect the power Adaptor.
8. Pull the Magnetic Housing away from the Magnetic Wheel to allow slack on the Tension Cable again
and slide the Tension Cable back on to the fastening pin on the Adjustment Motor.
9. Connect the power Adaptor again, the Adjustment Motor will re-position again.
10. Press the “+” button to increase the resistance on the Adjustment Motor to maximum and observe the
Magnetic Housing get closer to the Magnetic Wheel. Press the “-“ button and observe the Magnetic
Housing get further from the Magnetic Wheel.
11. Repeat these steps while pedaling to make sure the resistance increases while increasing the
resistance on the Computer.
12. Re-install the cotter pin.
13. Re-install the Chain Covers, DC Line and Cranks in this order.
14. The Adjustment Motor is now calibrated.
